BlackBerry Smartphone security

I have a BB bold 9930 and it asks me to enter a password every time I open it. If I change this feature and if so, how? It was previously owned wherever it takes but I do like it.

Thanks for any help.

Gotcha.  This happened to me before.

Siegfried, if you contact your technical support of official carrier & bring to escalate the problem to BlackBerry, Yes. Maybe they will be.

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wiping deleted my whole apps of My World!

I have a bold 9700 and recently she got really really REALLY slow, to the point where, by pure blind frustration I went to the options screen and did security wipe for all third party applications, I thought it would be just deleted from my phone but it deleted my whole app in app world as well which means I can't reinstall one of them.

I paid for some applications like Shazam Encore and Bejoose I really don't want to have to pay again, is there a way I could get back them?

Hello and welcome to the community!

AW servers must always making... I suggest that you clear the cache of the application on the device AppWorld:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync). Connect to MyWorld (if necessary - it will take your BB ID username and password this time; it's not remember your BB ID username after a clear the cache), and then try again.

If the step (4) and (6) do not occur as indicated, then the empty the cache did not work.

I hope it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wipe with any BIS - bbm

Hi guys, I've changed my blackberry for an iphone, so I cancelled my BIS and changed my tarrif plan towards an iphone one. I removed the SIM card, so the phone says insert sim card and SOS signal. I then went through and deleted my bbm contacts after it made a complete security wipe, and I came back to the blackberry. It went well and everything was clear.

But a couple of my friends said im still on BBM out there but when contact lists they me message that they get an 'X' red beside the message were it should be a D or R. I was wondering how I'm still on lists here if I deleted all the and safety wiped? Is it because I did it when there was no ENCORE for the blackberry could not send data on the servers of remove me contacts? If so what will happen when the next person gets my phone and BIS it will automatically synchronize what I did and remove me from my friends BBM?

    Help, please

    Thank you

Right, red x means that the message has not been sent because the contact does not exist. If she sent the message, the friend would simply see a message sent without D or R beside the message. If the messages have been received by the other device, it would show a D as delivered, but of course the message is not delivered to your old BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones security answer

I need help, I lost my password for Blackberry App World and I can't reset it because he needs the security answer and I don't remember, so I can't have a different password.

It must be remembered the BlackBerryID password or secret answer to the question. Without either, you're stuck.
    Your choice is:
-Use a different e-mail account to create a new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to all apps purchased using the 'forgotten' first BlackBerryID, or)
-Find the initial email you have been sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID and there are a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on this, delete the account and then you can use that same e-mail to create a new account.
    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wipe on bb curve 8520

Hello everyone, I had a question about the erasure of BlackBerry security.

I wonder if during the erasure of security ('emails, conctats etc.' and 'user installed applications' checkboxes checked) my sms messages will be deleted...

I have to take my camera to a friend, do you find security secure erase?

Yes, security wipe is the sure way to rid your system of all it's data. Do not remove the installed user applications as the wipe will erase the data in applications, but not applications. However, you can delete the user installed applications if you wish.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones security issue

I have set a password for my phone, but to add extra security to the SIM card should he be taken and used by another device. Is it possible to get?

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I don't know, but I think you need to get your SIM card from your provider before following the steps below PIN number:

Go to Options > device > advanced system settings > SIM card.  Press the BB menu button and select enable security.  You will then be asked to enter a PIN code to activate this security feature.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone security updates

RIM offer updates of security for firewall? What about virus protection?

    Hello

I think you're misunderstanding on two features: the firewall and anti-virus.

the firewall is a set of parameters that determine what can make a request (network access, see the microphone and so on).
the antivirus is a tool that will try to detect the virus / trojans / to.

a firewall is usually defined once for each request, according to your own needs or according to your business needs (in case your device is a company).

There is no virus on the BlackBerry, so there is no anti-virus. basically the worst thing you could do is to install an application on purpose who harm to your device.

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wipe, lack of features

    Hi people,

Has just been given a Curve 8520 by my son, lucky me. When he gave it to me, he had all of its parameters to another network and wifi. So I thought it would be easier to do a thorough cleaning and start a new one.

However, since doing so I have no e-mail setup and no option to update software or wifi. "" I tried to download the new software, but it happens in the ' Check for updates screen "and goes no further. I have to close and restart the computer. I left it running for more than 3 hours thinking that it can work, but nothing helped. I tried with the desktop running and without, with and without sim card software.

    Someone has any ideas

    Hello

It is also likely that these features are absent because the device must be connected to the BlackBerry network.  Go to Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Tables, press the BB Menu key and select Save now.  Who will be re - register your device on the network BlackBerry and should download the necessary info to get your device will.  Be aware that you will have a BlackBerry data plan on your device to do this, so be sure that it is set up in advance.  If this is not the case, contact your carrier to do it for you.

Once this is done, you may also send your service books.  The steps above should display your e-mail settings, and once it goes to the e-mail settings, connect to BIS (if necessary), press the BB Menu key and select Service books.  You can then return your Service books.

Note: If this still does not work, you may need to reload the OS.  If you must go this route try the procedure described here:

    You should get operational!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Security Update Query KB19552

    Hi all

I'm alittle confused on this issue.

I learned to be updated some of our BlackBerry bold in the light of this article, KB19552.

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/viewContent.do?externalId=KB19552

I'm confused about the version that I need to update.

    Latest version of applications

    Requests to update version to

    Version 4.5.0.x

    Version 4.5.0.173 or later

    Version 4.6.0.x

    Version 4.6.0.303 or later

    Version 4.6.1.x

    Version 4.6.1.309 or later

    Version 4.7.0.x

    Version 4.7.0.179 or later

    Version 4.7.1.x

    Version 4.7.1.57 or later

I went on the update site, http://www.blackberry.com/updates/ , update my Application Loader when it prompted me to and in the list I get the version the latest version 4.6.0.28 2

I would like version 4.6.0.303 but its unlisted in the loader Application and im don't know if I'll looking for random websites and download of this unit or a newer version (if possible) will break my phone.

Not sure if it helps but I Australia Telstra support.

I also wonder about the version numbers. Is the latest version with all other versions the version 4.7.1.x (4.5.0.x - 4.7.1.x) the 'later' or don't le.5-.7 means something (for example a different phone)

This means that you are carrier is not released a version greater than 4.6.0.28 2. You can update to OS "Bold" another carrier by following the steps at the top of this page: http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9000-series-discussion-bold/

Otherwise, you will need to wait for your carrier issued a superior version of the OS for the "BOLD". I've updated by operating system to 5.0.0.41 1 and have been running for a while with no problems. As always, just to be sure, make a backup of your data before reloading, or update the operating system.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Security Options > General settings?

    Hello world!!

I just bought my bb bold 9700 this year in January and recently just to send it for repair because some of the keys on the phone did not work and I return it. All parameters have changed while I was trying to change some settings back to what I wanted and he had to change the Audio settings in the "Audio Enchanced" in phone Options but will freeze just whenever I did that my phone screen!

So I called the customer and they recommended I reset my phone by clicking Security Options > General settings but it is not general settings under security options. Is there anywhere else I can find general settings? What is going with my phone?

PS - I am currently using three supplier (in Australia) and when I got back from my phone, I realized my memory card is missing! Yes the staff told me to remove "important information", but nobody says that it "memory card" and now its my lack of not removing it in the first place. It is THEREFORE not useful for someone who is challenged in terms of technology. * annoyed * someone should mention on the removal of the map! 3 did you read what I am SO disappointed in you! >.< not="" everyone="" talks="" technology/handphone="" language="">

It's not really care what OS charge you or where you will get the instructions.  However, I have provided a link to the instructions that are simple to follow and work for hundreds of people for several years, and are exactly how I update my device.

I recommend to use the link that I posted above and follow the instructions (exactly) in the first post of this thread.

If you follow the instructions in the link I posted, you shouldn't even need Desktop Manager.
