HP officejet 4620 cannot connect to new router

Hello

I recently got a new router and can print is more wireless.  I know I would say somehow the printer to connect to the new router, but I don't know how to do this.  It seems that just repeat the installation process fixed, but I can't find the disk, I used during my first installation of the printer.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Carter

  • Suggestions to connect a new router to the Modem to an ISP

Quite true for some ISPS like Insight.  Before Comcast took over in the box of my son, he had to go through a documented process of insight to connect any other device (router) Insight to the cable modem.  My experience with RoadRunner TimeWarner/Brighthouse when you connect a new router to their cable modems has been that they will assign a new IP address to the new router and will retain the previous pair of IP/MAC address of my router for 30 days before the purge of their DHCP database.  It is very convenient when I setup the router for my friends and then reconnect my router to the network and get my original IP address assigned.  Once I finished the configuration of the router from my friend and connected to its network access, I contact Brighthouse to let them know that they can release the IP address assigned to the router of my friend.  Not all ISPS is more conciliatory than TimeWarner/Brighthouse in this area.

I also take advantage of this "ability" to Brighthouse when I test backup WRT54G at my new WiFi E3000 router on a periodic basis.

In short, always contact your ISP to see what procedures must be followed when you want to connect another router to the modem.

  • Help! Setup Wizard cannot connect to the router!

I tried several times to install this router wireless MO # BEFW11S4.

I get an error message that Setup Wizard cannot connect to the router!

I pressed the reset on the back button each time, it is turned off, check the cable connections between the modem cable to the router, then router to the computer.

After dropping out of the router and connect the PC to the top with the modem, the PC is then connected to the internet once more.

How to solve problems, or isolate the problem as a bad router?

Please send me a PM for any suggestions or help.

  • Computer Vista laptop cannot connect to new wireless router

I had the laptop for about a year and a half, and he has a history of being pretty skittish about the wireless connection.  Often he simply refuses to do so.  During vacation last year, for example, the other three laptops connected family easily to wi - fi hotel, but mine has refused to.  There are a lot of other moments when the laptop could not connect, but I was able to connect to two most important places - home and work - without much trouble, and so I haven't looked too hard to solve the problems of connection up to now.

This week, I replaced the router in my original configuration.  The old Netgear router kept giving up the connection between her and my ISP.  The new Linksys router looks rock solid in this regard.  I have a desktop running XP computer that is wired to the new router Linksys, and he sees the internet very well.  My laptop Vista unable to connect (wireless), however.  He sees the network with a lot of intensity of the signal, and it tries to connect.  I get a message saying that the connection takes longer than usual, and then another message saying 'connected.'  However, I do not have internet access, and I see other devices (just the XP desktop, really) on the network.  The Network and Sharing Center shows my laptop connected to the 'unidentified network', and then there is a red X between this network and the Internet (represented by a grey globe).  Laptop computer signals its 'access' as "local only".

From the desktop, I can access the internet, so the router is connected to the points upstream.  From the desktop, I can also access the router configuration pages, and I see that it does not list the laptop as a dhcp client, even if the laptop thinks that it is connected.

ipconfig on laptop computer displays a wacky IPv4 address: 169.254.2.91 and I guess that the laptop does not get an address passed to the router.  I think that there should be a 192.168. *. * address if it worked properly.

Now, I was pretty sure my laptop's wireless adapter to work properly.  It always connects to the old router and it always connects to the work.  But to be sure and really test the new router, I went out and bought another USB adapter wireless.  When I plug it into the computer to Office XP, the Office connects to the router and can see the internet (even with the connection cable is disconnected).  So the new router and the new wireless USB adapater properly.  When I plug the USB wireless adapter into the laptop, the laptop still can't connect and still not get a good ip address assigned by the router.

I've been at this for a few days now, and I could really use some help.  I read a few items in the Microsoft forums that was supposed to fix the problem.  One of them told me to try to start a program called DHCP in the Administrative Tools folder.  I do not have this program on my computer.  Another told me manually change my registry (ouch!) and add a new DWORD value, and set its value to 1.  I did, but it did not fix the problem.

I would be very grateful for any help.

    Jim

Alright.  I am home to work and back again.  I have read several posts with people reporting problems similar to mine, so I guess I'm not alone in this.  In a thread, the experts proposed to start in Mode safe mode with networking.  So I gave that a shot.  I still couldn't really connect - just this 'local only' without an assigned IP address.

One thing I did notice, is that my laptop brand and its wireless adapter seem to get a special mention in most positions.  I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ50 Notebook PC running Vista Home Premium SP2, 32-bit version (even if the processor is 64-bit).  The wireless adapter is an Atheros AR5007.  Several other people with this card have reported problems.  Maybe it's the cause?

I look into updating the driver for the card, even if yesterday's test with the separate USB wireless adapter showed that the problem could not just be limited to the Atheros card.  To search for a driver update, I connect my laptop to the router with an ethernet cable.  It's nice to see the web on your laptop.  No update driver does.

For fun, I try to establish a wireless connection with the router, while the wired connection is still in place.  Looks like maybe it worked?  I say a little prayer and unplug the ethernet cable...

It's a miracle!  I have a wireless connection to the router and beyond, to the internet.  Huzzah!

The network has a real name, too, instead of just 'unidentified network '.  I want to change the network type from the public to the private, which I was unable to do while he was still 'unidentified '.

Can I terminate the connection so that I can see what happens when I try to reconnect.

Another miracle!  It connects to and still see the internet.  Callooh!  Colay!

Next test: see what happens after a reboot... (please, please, please)...

    Ch-ching!  It works again!

Final (?) test: reinstall the McAffee internet security suite and restart.

    And it still works.

    Here's a recap of what I found:
    1. laptop could not connect wireless router again, despite dozens of attempts in which I get every available straw
    2. laptop computer could see the internet when connected to the router
    3. laptop could connect wirelessly to the router while the wired connection is in place
    4. Once this first wireless, laptop computer was able to connect to the router even when the wired connection has been removed and the computer restarts

I would describe my discovery above as a work-around rather than as a solution, however.  It does not always help me stay connected the next time I'm on vacation, for example.  But perhaps the information I provided can help experts to diagnose the real problem a little.

I look forward to hear something back.

I have just moved house and have a new wifi connection/router.

  • Cannot connect my new HP4620 wireless all-in-one printer on my local network

The printer is aHP 4620 all-in-one wireless printer.  The network is a Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router connect an old HP Pavilion zv6000. portable 32-bit laptop running Windows XP and my brand new Pavilion dv6-7010us 64-bit running Windows 7.

First of all, I ran the installation disc for the printer on the Pavilion zv6000.  Wireless Setup went well without any problem the printer connected to the router and to enable printing of thezv6000...  Then, I loaded the printer installation disc in the new Pavilion dv6-7010 and started the installation.  Everything went well until what the installer told me to connect the USB cable between the printer and the computer, and shortly there after that I got an error message an unknown error and that the installation program has been stopped.

Since then I ran, I think, all the trouble shooting programs recommended with different results, all unsatisfactory.  Right now the test of the last wireless network said that the wireless is on, the wireless works. The connected test did not run.  the major flaw is that the SSID was not found, but there were 5 other networks detected.   The current configuration is: SSID is not set, the Mac address is OK, No IP address is defined, mode of Communication is Infrastructure and Authentication Type is open system.

Printer is no longer printing of thezv6000.  However the zv6000 both my IPAD become jobs printed via

HP eprint.  It does not appear that there is something wrong with the printer mainly a configuration problem.   Any suggestion would be

  • Apple TV cannot connect to Modem/Router C7000

    Hello

I'm completely stumped on this, this is no logic.

I upgraded a Netgear WNDR4300 wireless router to the modem/router combination C7000. The old router never caused any problems with the connection of wireless devices, but this new C7000 is frankly a pain!

I agree with Apple TV network and the password is accepted, but no matter what I do the router never sees the Apple TV as a connected wireless device!

Yet once, it worked flawlessly on the old Netgear router.

The other two devices wireless I have connected the two had WPS (a printer and a device), but the Apple TV does not support this so I get the password manually but it simply refuses to work!

I was wasting hours on this today.

I'm a software engineer so I understand this and frankly there is no earthly reason, I can see why he just refuses to work.

Y at - it a bug with this modem/router C7000 that will not work properly if you cannot connect using WPS?

And what is the problem of not having a FW upgrade option in this device?

This FW version: V1.01.20. Is this the last?

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Allen

Well, now I feel like a fool. I unplugged the old router and thought that I had turned it off, then I drop it on the floor and began setting up the new router. I wanted to keep the same network name so I changed it and set the password accordingly.

It's when I couldn't connect the Apple TV. And after all that, I look down the OLD router and to somehow do NOT turn it off as I thought I did.

If the network name being the same, my Apple TV connected to the OLD router instead of the new.

    Argh, what a rookie mistake!

    Everything is OK now.

    Sorry everyone,

    Allen

  • OfficeJet 4620: Cannot sweep to macOS 10.12 Sierra with Officejet 4620

Since the update to Mac OS 10.12 Sierra, I am unable to scan using my Officejet 4620.

I used to use the HP scanning software which worked well but I found out it only works with OS X 10.11 and earlier versions.

The HP Easy Scan Soft says that it works with Mac OS or OS X 10.9 and later so I installed this.

However, when the application is open there is a yellow explanation mark on the image of the scanner. The scanner is selected under the scanner drop-down.

The printer works well, is that the scanning feature that does not work. I tried to reboot my laptop and printer and you have reinstalled all the drivers and application, but it still does not connect.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

    Hi Phil,
The HP scanning application is indeed incompatible with Sierra, so you may experience problems.
Remove the scanning HP by moving to the trash, then empty the trash, also remove all currently installed HP Easy Scan instances.

Then install the latest version below, it will be installed in the Applications folder:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/installations/Essentials/HP-easy-scan-1_7_0.pkg

If you experience additional problems, ensure that the latest version of the software is installed by following HP Easy Start below:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

Finally, make sure that your drivers are up-to-date by clicking the Apple icon, select about this Mac and then press on software update.
Click on the Bank on the menu bar, click Reload Page, click all update if an update is available.

If you can meet with other issues, the printer is connected via USB or wireless?

    Kind regards

A new router through Talktalk and since then my printer Wireless does not connect.  It shows on my chromebook as this has already been added as a printer of cloud, but blue light wireless flashes.  Not had any problems before this that he was that we got the new router.  Tired to connect by using the method of the button/PIN button still no joy.

Please note using Toshiba chromebook on windows/mac.

Please help as I am ready to scream! Laughing out loud

    Hello @longess,

Welcome to the HP support forums.

I understand that you have acquired a new router and get your Deskjet 3050 has connected to your new network.

    I would like to help.

The blue light is flashing on the printer indicates that the wireless radio is on, but the printer is not connected to a network. This is the situation. You have a new router. The printer must be on the network.

So the next step is to get the printer on the network.

The deskjet printers family is usually USB wireless setup.

This causes an obstacle when you use only a Chromebook.

Chromebook does not support the software needed to turn the printer on the network.

If you have access to a Windows or Macbook notebook, the following link will help you place the printer on the network.

Configure the printer to a wireless network for the HP Deskjet 3050 a and 3070 e-all-in-one printer series

I have something you can try.

Check out this post from Sunshyn2005.

Re: Deskjet 3050 does not connect to my wifi network

If this message does not help to get on the new network printer, you will need to borrow a Mac or Windows computer.

  • Satellite A505 - sees, but cannot connect to, Wireless Router Win7

I have a laptop Toshiba A505-S6980 running the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

It worked fine a few months previously, to connect wireless to my O2 2 wireless router (the notebook has a REALTEK RTL8191SE wireless card).

I also have a desktop running XP computer that I use to connect to the same router. While on the desktop, I noticed several weeks ago that the router has been implemented with no WPA and WEP security, so I decided to change the router to WPA. The desktop PC was fine with this, but the laptop complained and wouldn't connect, failure of authentication and just stating "unable to connect to xxxxx". At the time I assumed it just couldn't handle the WPA authentication for some reason any and decided that I would probably turn to WEP to a later date to make it work again. At some point, I remove a ' O2 Connection Manager ", which had been installed when I bought a 3G dongle O2, where he has confused the issue, but it made no difference. In the meantime, I tried to connect the laptop using a wired connection and worked well.

I now (a few weeks later) decided that I wanted to use the wireless laptop then redefine the router to WEP expect this to work, but it didn't. As with WPA, he did not get past authentication when I put the key to security in. So, I try to understand the problem...

    What happens;

    (1) the wireless laptop sees my router (and neighbors), but just cannot connect.

    (2) I can connect with a laptop computer on the same USB wireless adapter.

    (3) I can connect the laptop to the router using a wired connection, and there is no problem.

    (4) my desktop running XP computer can connect to the router as WEP or WPA Wireless if the router is ok.

    (5) this worked several weeks ago!

    What I've tried;

    (1) I have installed the latest REALTEK RTK8191SE driver.

    (2) I tried to disable the security on the router, no joy.

    (3) I deleted all the profiles of network on the laptop.

    (4) I have tried with Norton antivirus and firewall disabled (but have not uninstalled) but no help.

    (5) I tried to do a restore of the system to the closest possible point and no help.

    (5) I uninstalled the wireless network adapter and its driver in Device Manager... Windows 7 can see the of it after a reboot and re - installed (using the old default driver), but it does not work. Then, I re-installed the latest version from REALTEK to ensure that it is up-to-date.

    What's weird is that

    (1) it works ok using the wireless USB adapter

    (2) the integrated REALTEK wireless adapter works to a point such that it can SEE my router, connect simply do not

    (3) authentication failure almost instantly

My suspicions are that an automatic update of Windows 7 or the O2 Connection Manager has somehow screwed it upward. I have uninstalled the O2 connection manager and tried to uninstall the automatic updates but there are many of them and I don't know how far back, I need to go. Also, because it authentication immediately, it seems that it is not giving him a chance to actually work.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can proceed or had a similar problem?

This is a really silly situation. In any case, I recommend you to use the Toshiba WLAN drivers only.
I put t know what Realtek module is inside but try please install driver WLAN http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads

All that you have done is logic and I think I will try the same thing.
Have you tried to connect to WEP or WPA is disabled? I mean free WLAN without protection.
Have you tried to connect your laptop to a friend's router?

I really put t know what is the problem here but there are a few bad setting it.

  • laptop older does not connect to new router

    Hello

I have a laptop Compaq Presario A940NR which is several years old.  Until last week, it was connected through a router.  The router has stopped working on all devices (printer, 2 other laptops).  Replaced with a Netgear N150 router. -connected to a desktop computer, wireless to the printer and 2 new laptops.  Most old laptop listed above does not connect to the network.  I tried (wired) connection directly to the ISP modem via ethernet.  He does not even recognize this connection.  I may need a driver updated, but unable to connect to the internet on the laptop.

Here are more recent (MARCH 2011) a version of the driver for your Atheros wireless card. I suggest you use it since you have a new router. There was a lot of connection problems with your Atheros card and new Linksys E series routers, for example.

Replacement/change your wireless router, try here.

    http://www.HP.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-Help3.html

Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try channel 1 first and then the other one at a time.  Make sure that the printer and the router are spaced at least 5 feet.

However, if you have a gateway device (modem + router), all gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   If this does not work, suggest you put this bridge in full bridge mode device and install your own router of high quality that YOU have full control over.
