  I'm playing the game "Railroad Tycoon 2-Gold edition" on my laptop which is running Windows 7.   You must contact the manufacturer to see if they have a patch for Windows 7. He would come by the manufacturer and not by Microsoft.

  Right-click on the EXE and select Properties, then select the compatibility mode.  Also if you have Pro 7 or higher, you can try the windows xp mode.

  I guess that I didn't that I had seen the name "verclsid.exe" in some of these error messages trying to run things.  I looked and saw it was to check the files or something.
  Anyway I couldn't rename even in admin console so I started in a different environment and renamed the copy in system32 and syswow64.
  Now, I've started and bang things seem to be ok! I guess I should try and replace it with a known working version? That or just give back it.
  I doubt that everybody does all c:\windows control total should be too dangerous, right... just?  : P I don't have a way to put permissions by default anyway, so Hey.  Formatting beats!

  Adobe Creative cloud DOES NOT work with MacOS Sierra 10.12. The person of Adobe support that I spoke refused to acknowledge that even a preview/beta version exists and it says that it will be fully compatible once MacOS Sierra is released. Pretty arrogant attitude.

  So with this arrogance and rudeness, I expect when 10.12 came out on 20 September, I can update the same day CC for I can use it in fact once again. Somehow, I doubt that will be the case, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

  I have used my OfficeJet Pro 8600 to scan until last week.  So I rebooted the software of HP and I still can't analyze.  I tried the Apple via AirPrint (version 2.0) drivers, still does not work.  Prints well but will not scan.  10.10 OSX is loaded but it worked for weeks after that.  The strange thing is that analyze the Mac of my wife (an old portable) with OS x 10.10 using version 1.0 of AirPrint.  Ideas?  I tried all the resets of the queues, etc.

  Hi all - help needed please.

  Recently bought a printer all-in-one Officejet 4630 and had nothing but trouble, set-up and use it. After several attempts to put in place, everything is roughly in order, though I can't yet scan of the control on the machine Panel (I can scan only through "system preferences" under the apple icon).  Whenever I try to scan the engine control panel (and not through system preferences), using either the wireless network (Airscan or whatever it's called) or the USB cable, I have the following message on my laptop screen:

  Task is not available

  The task of "Photo (JPEG)" found on your device is not available on your system. Please select another task.

  The same thing happens if I try to scan to PDF. I use an old (c.2007 MacBook Pro) that runs the OSX10.9.5 Mavericks. Internet connectivity is not a problem because we have the right cable broadband. All I want to do is scan directly from the printer to my computer, preferably using a wireless connection. Help, please.

  I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your Officejet 4630. I understand that you are unable to scan from the front of the printer. I'd be happy to help you with this.

  In the spirit of Halloween, first I have to ask: what did the Mummy to tell the Agent from HP Support?    Let's wrap this case up!

  I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the software. Please follow the instructions below to complete a more comprehensive uninstall than basic uninstall. I know that these steps look long and convoluted, but I made it easy to follow and have confidence that these steps will solve the problem.

  Scrub / uninstall

  • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett-Packard folder > Uninstall HP
  • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
  • * Only perform this step if you have not all other HP printers.  Press and hold the Option, control and command, while now the three buttons.
    
  • Click Uninstall.

  Reset the printing system

  1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.

I tried manually specifying an IP address, which is not in conflict with all other IP addresses on the network. In all of this, I can always print these two computers and other office machines can print & scan very well. We have another scanner in addition to the office and these two computers can still scan using this one, but it doesn't have as many features. The HP ToolboxFX still works of these two computers.

  I'm full of ideas on how to solve this problem. It's particularly embarrassing because it worked before and continues to work on other desktops. Clues as to what I should try next?

  Any suggestions you mentioned did not. No change in behavior. However, I wasn't ready to admit defeat. After you check with the inspectors of package & various parts of the debug windows, I FINALLY found the solution! Therefore, I thought I'd share for someone else in the future who has a similar problem.

  These two computers have been executed under limited user accounts, and at the end of the day, it's a bug in the way the HP drivers in the WIA service user account permissions. It was totally an easy workaround solution, although - raise the WIA service for a user admin that can interact with other restricted users. Then, it has permissions to do what he wants!

  Directions for use:

  (1) on the computer target under the normal user account, press Start, in the search box type services.msc. Right click on the program that appears and select "Run as Administrator". Enter your user password or click on next to go to the UAC popup, if necessary.
  (2) locate the service called "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" and double-click it.
  3) click the connection tab, and then change this service to log on under a Local System account. Click here to allow the service to interact with desktop. And then click OK.
  (4) reboot (or if you really don't want to restart & know what you're doing, you can just stop & restart the WIA service twice)
  (5) enjoy!

  Everything works now.
