HP OFFICEJET 5600: UNABLE TO SCAN

Can I print using my HP Officejet 5600. When I open the Solutions Center to scan or another function, it displays a printer I use not i.e. HP Officejet 5600 Series Fax. Please tell us how to change the setting for HP Officejet 5600 so that I can scan.  In the control panel to the correct printer is online and designated as the default.

Hi there @Shirlene888 , welcome to the forums!

I saw your post on your Solution Center showing that the fax driver and that you can not scan.

I would say first of all that is running the print and scan doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all the conflicts that could be the cause of the problem and try to fix them. Then try to scan and if the tool has problems, made me know what they are in your response.

If the diagnostic tool has not fixed the issue scan, try to completely uninstall the printer software, restart the computer to complete uninstallation, then download and install the complete driver under the following link. You will need to select the mode of "5600" you have in the list: drivers & software

Good luck!

    Hello Chrissygee

In general, this error is associated with failure to scan. Scanner failure is a hardware problem and the printer will need maintenance.

I suggest all initially following the article a 'Scanner failure' message on the all-in-one control panel and you can not scan, copy or fax .

NOTE: the last part of article (three Solution) is a function of the printer. It has some links to the HP warranty check tool and warranty options.

If the problem persists you must call technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region please click the link below to get help from your region number.

    Hello RedRoscoe,

I would like to see if I can help with the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus scan to E-mail and Web Services questions. I think that the issues can be addresses by two steps, I hope.

About scanning to E-mail, you can be blocked by the two-step verification. What is the email client that you want to activate the printer for, MSN, Gmail, etc.?

Issues of Web Services, try to apply a manual DNS 209.244.0.3 & 209.244.0.4 to the printer's manual I.P address.

    Hello

Don't forget to run the scan of the computer to scan several pages.

Open the HP software and click on scan a Document or Photo.

Select the PDF shortcut and if ensure that the dialog box overview checked to be disaplayed.

Make sure that the resolution set at 300 DPI or lower (any higher resolution does not support multiple pages) and click Scan.

Use the button to add additional pages until you are finished, and then click Save.

  • Unable to scan and save files using Laserjet M1136

    Hello

I've just installed and started using the M1136. While the printer and copy function work very well (a scanned doc immediately is printed), I am unable to scan and save a document on my system.

Everything I read on the forums, I'm supposed to find a Director of HP /Scan To program/service that will help me to scan and save files, but I can't go to their source as well.

Advice / help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi M_Mand,

Thank you for providing me with this information that you still can't find any software of HP on the computer.

You can also scan using paint on your computer. Go to start, all programs, accessories, paint.

I have provided with the URL of download and installation of the complete functionality for the printer software. This will allow you to browse the HP software.

HP LaserJet Pro M1136 multifunctional printer drivers.

Select your operating system, click Next and click on the software to download and install.

If you have any questions or issues, feel free to ask.

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot scan from the document feeder

I'm unable to scan a document using the ADF.  This has never been a problem until I recently updated my OS from Windows 7 to WIndows 10.  Nothing I found online seems to solve my particular problem.  My printer is connected to my Lenovo ThinkPad W520 computer by USB, this is what I've learned so far:

    I can print without problem.

I can copy a document from the Board without any problems.

I am able to copy a document using the charger, so the charger seems to be working.

I am able to scan a document from the tray, then the scan function also seems to work.

I checked the updates and the printer indicates that the firmware and software are up-to-date.

What can I do to once again allow me to scan a document from the document feeder?  Your help would be much appreciated.

Yes, under "Source", I got "Use Document Feeder so burdened" and I got the beep signaling that the document is loaded in the feeder.  So, it wasn't the problem, but I do it thanks for trying to help out.

Fortunately, I finally found a solution, although it took a job.  I have reset the printer to its defaults, uninstalled the printer (and its drivers) from my computer, downloaded the latest HP drivers (even if the printer had stated that he was "aware" before all this effort) and reinstalled the printer from scratch.  A lot of work, but the printer works now as it did before my upgrade to Windows 10.

While I'm not a "techie" and do not really understand why things work the way they do, I hope that my efforts may provide ideas for others who may have similar problems after upgrading to Windows 10.

You may have an incomplete print job.  Go to control panel, printers.  Double-click the printer in question and delete all print jobs that are there.

If this does not work, restart your router and your printer (I assume that you are connected via a router since you are posting in this forum).
