HP Officejet 7130 printer will become unusable?

I currently own two HP Officejet 7130 printers which, unlike a number of other people that I read on the Internet worked very well for me over the past years.  They both will continue to work well the expense and the frequency with which I need to replace the cartridges, I have no complaints.

UNTIL NOW, THAT IS!

It seems that HP has decided to stop production of the printer HP 14 (black and tri-color) cartridges that are required for this printer.  The impression that these 14 HP printer cartridges are no longer available at any stores such as Staples, Office Depot... or any other office supplies.  Whereas now, I went to eBay to buy some, I now have a second question.  The HP Officejet 7130 is found being one of the printers that HP decided to use expiration dating on ink.  According to the HP documentation on it, the ink cartridge expired, there is no way to substitute this on the HP Officejet 7130.

While I could find and buy several HP 14 eBay ink cartridges that have a date of expiry of the beginning of 2014, it means that some time in about a year, my printer will STOP WORKING!  Is not cool because it has absolutely nothing to with an operating system level because I am currently using my 7130 s on Windows 7.   HP is forcing me to buy another printer.

If I'm missing something here and I am anyway by mistake with what I mean, please let me know the error of my ways and how to work around this problem.

If that is true, then I would like to know what HP will do to help me out of this jam after being a loyal customer of HP printer for more than 20 years now.

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

14 cartridges are available from HP, you can order then supply course site here HP.

Edit - HP actually rarely stops cartridges.  Original cartridges for Thinkjet initiated nearly 30 years ago are still available.  I remember well the last cartridges that have been abandoned have been those of the PaintJet XL300.  While retail sales volumes may choose to not devote space to showcase for the older cartridges, but the cartridges are generally still available through HP online

CS6 works with 10.9 on my system, it seems likely that 10.7 would also work with CS6. You should not move unless you have a full backup and bootable from your system existing.

  • OfficeJet 7000 Wide Format pri: HP Officejet 7000 Wide format printer will not print black ink

I'm looking for a solution fix what is an occasional problem with our Officejet 7000 and arose once again today. The printer will print any black ink. I did the procedure to print alignment and cleaning print head as well.  I tried to clean the evacuation on the real printer cartridge area as recommended by some responses from support group.  When this has happened, I can fix it usually wiping the area where the ink comes out of the printer cartridge, but nothing works today.  The cartridge is 3/4 full.

Other than to throw this printer and all the ink cartridges, I bought already for later use, suggestions for what else someone could solve this problem?  There seems to be a lot of people who have posted similar problems in recent years.

    Hi @P-architect,.

    Thanks for the reply.

The only print head is CN643A, the 6500 and 7500 HP 564 cartridges as well usage. I searched the HP Print Store and found that you really want to be looking for a KIT of REPLACEMENT FIELD HP 564, and the part number is CE001A. The replacement of the field Kit contains a set of ink which are used to set up the print head. It's not like there are none currently in stock, but it is a clickable link to resellers who may have one available.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet 4622 prints not Windows 8, but will print from Linux

    Hello world

I have an OfficeJet-4622 printer set up on my network (wireless) and two computers. The first is a portable computer running Windows 8, and the second is a desktop running Ubuntu Linux. Both have HP (and HP Setup) drivers installed. When I try to print something from the Windows 8, it will start printing and then say that year error has occurred. The print will be print part of a page, nothing or half of employment and a white sheet.

However, if 'copy' of the printer, or print from the Linux computer, everything works fine. One thing to note is that I'm using remanufactured cartridges, but they should not cause a problem on a single computer only.

I am at a loss here, so any suggestions on what to do to solve this problem are greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a nice day.
    Patrick.

I think I solved the problem eventually. On one of the posts of post-its, it linked to a page where you can use the automatic installation wizard. I did, and it reinstalled my driver (s). He had said the previous installation was not completed successfully. So I'll try again to print. The print came out fine. If the previous installation must have been the problem.

Thank you for your reply, I tried your suggestion, but it did not work and the reason was a driver error. I have re-installed the driver software of HP and so far that seems to have solved the problem! I guess time will tell. Thanks again for the help, much appreciated, this a great forum help those in need.

  • HP Officejet J4680 series: all-in-one HP Officejet J4680 series will not print Word documents

My HP Officejet J4680 all-in-one ink jet printer will not print in Word 2010 documents. It will print .pdf and Excel 2010 documents. I ran printing HP and doctor Scan and check it and put to date and said all is fine. Just around checking on my computer it said in the devices that the printer is ok. I printed the test from the doctor of Hp Plug and it came out ok. Seems so that Word documents are the only problem. I installed Windows 10 earlier so not totally sure that's the problem I don't remember if I used the word since installation up to now.

I bought this printer in 2010 and have had no problems with it and I can tell you that I have printed a large NUMBER of pages.

Any ideas how to get this printer working?

    Thank you!

  • HP officejet 100: printer hp officejet 100 laptop will support Windows CE?

I'm working on Windows CE project.  I need to print with hp officejet 100 via Bluetooth or usb. I don't know if the printer hp officejet 100 laptop will support Windows CE or not. Can someone clarify for me please.

    Hi SureshR,

This OfficeJet 100 was not designed to work with Windows CE, as such. The specifications include Windows XP, Vista and 7.

You you can try the different drivers to see if none of them work. Also check for the built-in drivers in Windows CE. The specifications page points to www.westtek.com for Windows Mobile printing.

  • OfficeJet 5740: Officejet printer will work without a computer?

83, my mother wanted a new Copier for her sewing room - there is a computer in that room. She went out a bought a HP all-in-one Officejet 5740. I said, "MOM, I think that this printer must be connected to the computer to operate."

Am I right in assuming this? I've never had to think about before because whenever I bought a printer to hang on to my computer.

Thus, this printer will not work as a standalone Copier? DRM for clarification.

    Dolly

You're mother is more intelligent that you are, tell him that I said.

Copiers do not need to be attached to the PC to make the copies, and the printer she bought is also a copier.

  • Computer laptop 32 bit Vista will not shareprint with XP Office officejet v40 printer. Help, please

I have read forums and tried everything for 4 days without luck.

I'm trying to print from my 32-bit vista laptop to my printer of office xp... an old officejet v40 printer.

The office prints well on this printer from xp desktop attached and I named shared printer.  All security and firewall disabled. I started at least 20 times and have tried to install unsuccessfully

It seems that the HP driver Web page has a driver for vista, BUT the instructions are only if you hang the printer directly with the USB... No shared networking. I always thought that you could just download the dirver to the computer and it turns when you go to install it. I made for the devil to the hook to the top of my computer vista laptop directly to the printer and it installs and works fine... BUT I want it in a network or shared... no USB.

Also, if I go to "Add a network printer" and select the printer in office shared in the list, it will be in my control panel as a printer on my laptop, but when I hit print, I get the pop box, which allows you to set the preferences, print etc, and when I hit print again, the small pop-up box flashes on for a second that it's printing paper... but no printing. Instead of this, when go to see what happened to the list of document status, I see the State of the document listed as error - printing"

I don't know if I have vista for this printer driver in my laptop or what? I'm totally confused by the present. I read somewhere that there is no way for a computer vista laptop to print over the network to this HP printer while the printer is connected directly to a computer running XP? Is this true?

I rarely if ever gave to be beaten by computer problems... but this one had me done bankruptcy for the third time and about to give up. Any help would be appreciated.

THIS TIME IT WORKED! After several months of not being able to print from my computer vista laptop for my v40 OfficeJet (which is connected to my desktop XP) I decided that I would give it one more try. I used once more Bob of the 2nd ad above, as well as suggesion Eddy's instructions to select "New Port" when you arrive at the end close to Bob's instructions. THIS TIME IT WORKED! I think I'm out track somewhere when I tried to do this several months ago. In any case, I thought that I have would expand a bit on what Bob wrote just in case there's someone that who needs a little more in detail. (For a beginner, even the smallest thing can be stumbling blocks if you have never done this kind of thing before)

On your computer vista laptop, go to printers and Control Panel. When you click the Printers icon you can click on add printer and select Add local printer (it even if it is not a local printer, but a printer that is connected to your desktop computer in another room) Ok... Then select "Use the existing Port" LP1. Then you select your printer from the list and click on it to install the driver. I think that you then click FINISH. (No you are not really over, so don't bother is not clicking on this Test Page again). Once you click FINISH, you will automatically be on the screen that shows the printers you have installed on your laptop. for help. You will then see the the OfficeJet v40 as the printer that you just installed. Highlight and right click. Then select "Run as Administrator". That will open a submenu where you and then click Properties. Then click on Ports, Add Port. Select "Local Port" and click "New Port" (as Eddy proposed). A small screen will appear where you enter now the \\NameOfPrinterYouArePrintingTo\ShareNameOfThatPrinter once you do this and click on apply and OK, you will be brought to a final screen where you will notice that the box LP1 is more verified. Place a check mark was automatically placed in the new port that you just created above IE name\sharename.  YOUR DONE!
