HP OfficeJet 8000 just stopped printing

Hi all

I have a HP OfficeJet 8000 and have used for a while.  I tried to connect to my new comcast wireless router, but it does not work, so I re-connected to the airport, he was happy on and all was well.

The other day, it just stopped printing.  The green light is on, all connections are secure.  It was working fine the day before and then more nothing.

When I go to print, it shows it's open the connection and the percentage of the printed page and about a minute after that 100%, it says unable to connect to the printer, operation timed out.

Why?  I need my printer!

Hello wysmommyand thank you for getting back to me!

I would recommend your computer and the printer off.  Once they are both down, unplug your power of router for 60 seconds and plug it back.  Once the router will begin broadcasting, turn on the printer and the computer.

I would also recommend following the steps outlined in this document on a "printer not found" Error Message appears for the Officejet Pro 8000 Printer Series.

Please hold me!

    Hi rea123,

I understand that you have an Officejet 6000, which is currently not print black ink. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I will do my best to help you.

I suggest that you first look through this document for Troubleshooting print quality problems because it may be a few steps that you have not yet tried.  This document 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer has also a few steps to know how to clean the print head manually.

If all else fails, take a look at the Bob_Headrick station for soaking your printhead.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • HP Officejet 6500 has stopped printing, paper white just came out.

My Officejet 6500 has just stopped printing.  I use a USB connection and my operating system is Windows XP Home Edition.  At first, it was just the text that Wouln't print but the colors would come by, even on test prints.  On a print document the little box comes up showing the data transferred to printer, printer starts but doesn't work with a blank page.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled program, has gone through the full program of the HP Solutions guided, checked all connections, installed the new driver, and yet do not print anything.  Have never had any previous problems since I bought.  I have not recently installed new programs.  Would appreciate any other suggestions.

After everything I lived, I finally solved the problem.  Although the ink levels showed ink cartridges, I put a new black in one and it works!

  • DeskJet 3420 just stopped printing... why?

I recently lost the use of my wonderful 940c due to a faulty cartridge Deskjet (Yes, it's a HP), so I have brought out a 'new' Deskjet 3420 (but outdated) of my closet.  It works well, but all of a sudden just stop printing.  In my view, a paper jam may have preceded the problem, but I know that, whatever it is, I was printing at the time of bottling did print.  I tried re-initialization of the system, but no help.  I tried to install the new cartridges, but once again no help.  What in heaven's name happened?  I'm lost without a printer.  Thanks for your suggestions help.

HI - can you give some more details?  You receive an error message?  Is there a flashing light?

    One thing to try:

-Unplug the USB cable to the back of the printer.

    -Try printing a self-test:

    1. Turn on the printer.
  • HP Officejet 6500 has stopped printing

For some reason, my HP Officejet 6500 has everything in a printer does not print any more. The document moves through the printer and comes out blank. It does not print anything to a file on the computer, including something as simple as a letter. It won't photocopy. It will only accept faxes. The paper just moves from the status bar if the machine and get out again, blank. When I tell it to do a test print - it will print the boxes and lines and color, but does not print anything else.

I don't know how all this relates to MS Windows, but maybe you could try HP support regarding problems with your printer, for example.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 stops printing in the middle of documents

This has happened recently. Nothing has changed on my end. First of all my ink was low, but even after changing ink it always did. I get an error message in Windows 8 that says: cannot print the Microsoft Word document. There is no error on the computer, but on my screen it says

HP HPCA89EB (8600 HPOfficeJet) error. Printer couldn't pring Microsoft Word.

The document is 31 pages and stops on every 5-10 pages on ANY document.

BTW, my software is updated to date.

    Help! It's so boring!

    Hello eli4,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I understand that you are having a printing problem in Microsoft Word with your Officejet 8600. I will do my best to help you with this.

I would say running the print and Scan Doctor.
    * Download and run the utility.
    * Select your printer in the list, press next
    * Select printing fix.
It will detect and correct problems with printing.

Then, I recommend you update your firmware to the printer. (Get the latest Firmware and product updates).
After these two restarted the computer, and then test with your word documents.

If your still having the problem, try uninstalling/reinstalling the printer software.
Also, let me know if you encounter any errors. If you need help, I have to know if the printer
    connected USB or wireless.

Thaks for posting on the HP Forums.

Hi and thanks for the support.

Printer take the white sheet, the departure of power led to blink and stop! Nothing else! I did all the operations described in the support section of 32-bit Windows 7, without any positive result. I also did a factory reset (cancel + OK button), but nothing... I also tried to do a simple job with another computer, connected via the USB cable, but nothing yet... Thanks for the replies!

Unfortunally, it WAS jam more than a simple book, but something is located in the section software printer. So, I sent my printer to HP for one complete replacement by another... That's all...

I understand that you have a question in color printing.  You print a diagnostics page and inks exhibition about half full and health of the print head is OK.  When you were trying to print each color individually only yellow printed.

Here is a link that I think will help with this difficulty:

  • OfficeJet 4500 g stopped printing black ink

    Hello

My problem is with a Hp Officejet 4500 g series all-in-one.

So I got a fax coming thru today and it spits out a blank page. I thought it was weird that he actually sent a white sheet through rather than give an error "ink", so I tried to make a copy to see what would happen... same thing, the white sheet.

I bought a new ink cartridge (black HP901) and installed IT... same thing, white paper.

    I have tried since:

    Restart the computer

Power off the printer and unplug all the cables

    Disk Cleanup

    System restore

Check all the printer preferences to ensure that none changed to something funky

    Printer cleaning cartridge

Support of HP running tool (says it all worked very well)

    Reinstalled drivers

    And nothing solves the problem.

I tried to contact support, but apperantly you can get online or telephone help you if you have a product that is old enough to not work, so I checked the forums and I see a lot of people say they have this exact problem with many HP printers of different model (including 4500 series). What no one seemed to have are answers that corrects the problem. At this point, my guess is that the solution to this is the same solution to most of the other problems HP which is not to buy HP products.

If somehow, someone has found a way to solve this problem, I'm guessing a lot out of me would love to hear how.

    Thank you.

The printer must align with success whenever a cartridge is changed until the color cartridge print correctly. To align the printer successfully?

If the printer produced before blank prints, it is possible the Tricolor flag and the black were empty. If only the black cartridge has been changed, the printer lacks color ink in the printer to perform a correct alignment.

Also check the steps described in the document, found herefor print quality problems.

    I hope this helps.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 stopped printing with cable connection

Last night my computer gave me a message that something has tried printing on the wrong size paper.  Then, I received a fax successfully and thought everything was fine.  This morning, all my documents are sitting in the queue.  I use a cable to connect the printer to my computer, so this isn't a wireless issue.

  • Officejet Pro L7580 stopped printing

    Hello:

All of a sudden my printer does not print.  I made no changes to anything. That's what I found so far:

I tried a diagnosis and it did print

It will NOT print a web page or a windows doc

When I click on print, it shows that it is printing but nothing happens.

I have another printer connected to the network and it will print.

I have a Mac.  All the info on the help I found is for windows.

I did a proposed reinstall, and it did not help.

    Help, please!

I managed to do the work.  I downloaded the driver again (I did already), and this time it worked.  No need extra help.  Thank you!
