HP officejet 8500: jam on fax error message

My printer gives me a paper jam error message everytime I try to fax on the set of the car. But he fine Fax out of the glass. Also, it prints multiple copies of auto tray.   Amy ssuggestions before buying a new machine.  It is 5 years old.

Hi @Horseshoer,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are not able to communicate by fax using the ADF on your HP Officejet 8500 printer. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that you are able to fax using the scanner, which is nice to hear. I also see that you mentioned that you are able to copy of the set 'auto '. Are you referring to the ADF (automatic document feeder) or the feeder?

If you are able to copy multiple pages using the ADF, fax should also work. The printer may have a little problem, that can solve a reset.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

  • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

If you have a computer that is running Windows 7 or an earlier version, I would update to the firmware of the printer. Clickherefor the download page.

If you are unable to update the firmware of the printer, I suggest to try partial reset or Semi - full Reset. I can send you this information in a private message. In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • Always auto answer on my Officejet 8500 does not fax - tried all the suggestions.

    Hello

I read a few messages with similar questions, but none that have exactly the same problem. Auto answer on my Officejet 8500 is on and there is a light.  I tried this turn by both pushing the button on the machine, as well as through the web interface.  I have put fax to send e-mails and not functioning properly.  The phone cord is plugged into the correct port on the printer and I use a telephone with 2 wires in cable and not 4 (some thought that the cord 4-wire has been the question but I do not know how it would make a difference).  I even tried to see if the machine to auto answer when the auto answer button has been turned off, just in case it worked in reverse.

The fax can send as well as receive (so the cord should work) via sending e-mail function that I put in place.  We can receive faxes if someone is there to push a button, but no one is often.  Everything should work perfectly if she just automatically answer... which is essential to any fax machine in general.  Anyone know what could be the cause and how to fix it?  If we cannot get this to work, we get a different machine.

    Here are some statistics:

    Model: Officejet pro 8500 A909n

    Firmware version: DLM1FN0924AR

    Operating system: Windows XP Pro

There were no changes to my system before that happened.

Are there updates that could take care of this?

    Thank you!

    Hi ForeverFixing,

Follow the steps described in the pages of 89 to 92 Fax to PC users guides.

NOTE: Fax to PC and fax to Mac are available to receive faxes in black and white only. Color faxes are printed instead of be saved on the computer.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you get a runtime error message with your old printer HP Officejet 8100, after uninstalling the software. I'm happy to help you!

First of all, I would suggest trying the fix it MS, program by Microsoft. If this does not work, you will need to manually remove/disable the item from your startup programs. How to disable Vista and in Windows 7 startup programs.

  • Scan & Fax error message please notify

    From: Al

Yesterday my scan & fax was working fine, now, I get an error when scanning; to the effect that "year error occurred while setting the scanner Properties" and "If another program is scanning please wait so he could fill and try again" but it is not another program using the scanner!  The preview also works but then I get the error message after the preview and click scan Gets the second message.  Any ideas?

    From: Cari (MS - MVP)

Thanks - why didn't I?  Probably because I had the problem once before that was part of a problem more serious requiring a re-installation of Windows Vista, and I guess it could be a recurrence.  Clearly not, fortunately.

    Hey @FerFer,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support. I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that you are unable to print from your iOS devices using your HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One - E710n. I want to help you with this.

What you describe, it seems that you use AirPrint when the error message appears.  With this printer, you have three ways to print from iPhone / iPad. The most common method is called AirPrint. For your information, "AirPrint is a solution of mobile printing included with Apple's iOS v4.2 and later mobile operating systems.

iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can print wirelessly on any HP ePrint-enabled printer which is connected to the same local wireless network. Most of the released HP printers in 2010 and later support AirPrint.
  • HP Laserjet Pro print FAX error messages M127fw

My M127fw Pro Laserjet prints an error report anytime that the incoming telephone line becomes active.  It's a line for FAX use only, and there is never intend to use this to talk.  Given that any appeal could only be a robo call or a solicitation, a "No. FAX detected" printed report is UNnnecessary.  I would like to stop the printing of this error message.

    Hi @furstm ,

I see that you have problems during the installation of the printer on a dedicated line and the printer will print a 'no. FAX detected' printed report when eventually comes a robo call or a solicitation. I would like to help you today.

Select never to print Fax error report.

Select the Menu icon on the screen of the printer, Fax.
    Select Fax reports.
    Select the Fax error report.
    Select never.

    This should solve the problem.

  • OfficeJet 8500 jam due to the power-tab broken inside the printer.

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8500 Prime Minister who until a few days ago, worked like a charm. I noticed two bac 1 and 2 paper jams. I took a dive inside through the openings in the paper tray and noticed that he was missing a tab which redirects the paper to the top. Without it the book just wants to go all right and jams. Now the big printer bit is no more. Anyone know if this repairable? Your help is appreciated.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. If this if broken part inside the printer, it will NOT be replaced.

You can contact the Support of HP (1800-474-6836). Do you speak the duplexer at the back of the printer, or something inside?

  • HP Officejet J3680 All-in-one: error message on the screen of the printer cartridge

The message in the window of my printer says cartridge error. I opened the door of the cartridge and makes sure that the cartridges were safe. Message on the screen of my computer says low ink. If the ink is completely out, the printer fails to print and display cartridge error? The cartridge is fairly recent, but it is a remanufactured cartridge.

I guess that if the printer who copied the cartridge was okay   Then, I got a popup asking if I had problems printing with Windows 10.  After several entries and finally get a prompt for HP Assistant something or other I was finally able to print. I guess that the printer was not recgnizing Windows 10. Now, he recognizes it and is the fine print. Thanks for your comments.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a, subject C2FE0122 error message. What is the meaning of this code?

This printer a little over a year old demanded a replacement Printhead and printhead frequent cleaning. Is there a solution to this problem?

Given that the error is not accompanied by the words 'Ink system failure' this alphanumeric code points to a problem overall impression material. Here a link to a document that deals with the alphanumeric codes for your printer model. It will show you how to reset the product. I hope this helps.  If you reach the end of this document and the issue is not fixed, sought to replace the product.

If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.
