HP Officejet j6480: printer has no connection wireless, ran again in settings page network & wireless test report

It all started when I got a message that my cartridge on the left was not aligning... it was a charge... I'm gone online, read should I unplug the printer & pressed the button for 1 min... who sets the cartridge message... now its not to communicate with the laptop. Spend 2 hours with Costco concierge thinking it could be the Acer Aspire V... we crossed the Powercycle, changed the cartridges, clean the print head, wired the laptop to the printer & removed & added drivers/software... He said he has never seen this before & he couldn't understand... I went to configure wireless settings printed with the cable, then he used to always recognize laptop mobile phone acts as its no printing, no jobs in the QC... will also not print with usb cable... 1/2 worn with AT & T they are useless... Help! It's exhausting. Thank you.

Hey @extremelyP,

The 'Send Fax' screen was to appear, it doesn't appear that you have added the driver for Deskjet replacing portion of your printer Fax. Normally, under devices and printers, you will have two copies of your printer. The first example would be the real printer driver. The second copy would be the Fax from your computer's fax driver part. In saying this, I will just cancel you it that we just finished and test print. If the printing problem persists, we will add the driver replacing again and things must be a lot smoother.

Step 1: Remove the driver:

  1. Open the display Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom right of your keyboard to the left of the Ctrl key
  2. On the start screen, type programs and features
  3. Click on programs and features to launch the tool.
  4. Under programs and features scroll to the bottom of the list and are looking for your HP Officejet. If you see your printer click on it and choose Uninstall.
  5. Please follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete please close programs and features
  6. Then, please reopen the Start screen. This time type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to the start
  7. In the file devices and printers, if you see your HP Officejet still listed, please, right click top and select "remove device' or 'Remove'.
  8. Once the device HP Officejet was deleted please click left once on any device used to indicate the heading Printers and fax machines . You just want to highlight the device
  9. Then click on the print server properties at the top
  10. Under the print server properties, click the drivers tab
  11. If you see your HP Officejet driver showing under the list please click on it. Then, click Remove. Click remove the pilot from the box pop up
  12. Click OK
  13. On the print server properties window, click apply and OK
  14. Close Devices and printers

Step 2: Install the Driver:

Please click here to download and install the driver package for your printer. Once your HP Officejet is reinstalled successfully please test printing. If the printing problem persists, we will still add the other pilot.

Step 3: Adding a driver replacing:

  1. Open the display Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom right of your keyboard to the left of the Ctrl key
  2. On the start screen, type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to the start.
  3. In the devices and printers folder right click on your HP Officejet J6480 (not the Fax version)

  • Left click on printer properties
  • Left click on the Advanced tab
  • Left-click on new driver
  • When the new driver window just press 'Next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
  • Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
  • DeskJet 6980 select the printer on the right. Choose HP . If Deskjet 6980 does appear to only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update is completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 6980.
  • After selecting Deskjet 6980 hit Next to complete the wizard driver new
  • Under the printer properties window, select "Apply", but don't hit not OK
  • Select the general tab
  • Rename your HP Officejet J6480 printer
  • Click OK
  • Then, right click on your HP Officejet again and select printer properties
  • Click the device settings tab
  • Under Installation Options click on the drop down menu "unit duplex (for printing on 2 sides)" and replace the "installed".
  • Once the settings have been adjusted click apply and OK
  • Once the other pilot has been added successfully, please test print to see if the problem is now resolved.

Please let me know if this procedure works for you. Good luck!

"You can connect to the server through a proxy server" what is a proxy server address

      Hi @Raggetty ,

I understand that you are having problems with the printer via the wireless network. I will definitely do my best to help you.

Since you have moved, you must install the printer on the network.

If you haven't already done so, restore the default settings of the network printer. Go to configuration, network, restore default network.

Then set up the printer on the network again.

      Follow this document:

Configure the printer to a wired network or wireless for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-One Printer Series.

If you need help to set up the printer on the network, let me know.

    • HP Officejet 5740: HP Officejet 5740 printer for laptop connection problem: "cannot find a printer".

I'm trying to set up my new printer Officejet 5740 and I got to the stage where I need to connect the printer to a laptop computer or mobile device. I went to 123.hp.com and follow-up stages. My printer is correctly connected to the internet, but when I tried to connect it with my laptop via wifi, I got a screen that says "cannot find a printer". Before that, he asked me to put the IP address that appears in the settings of the printer wireless.

I have a dual band wireless router, and it seems that my printer can connect only to the 2.4 GHz frequency range. My laptop can connect to the scales of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. I made sure that the laptop was connected to 2.4 GHz when I did this step. I even Redid the same process on my sister's laptop (she has 10 Windows), but I came across the same problem. In addition, the screen with the error message says what must I make sure that the firewall has not been in the way of the connection. I tried to disable the Windows Firewall, but I still have the same result.

I am at a loss for what to do here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm positive, I put the correct IP address, and I even tried to use the host name. Also, I know that my laptop and the printer are connected to the same wireless network. Everything I did for this step in the installation process has been with wifi (not ethernet, USB, etc.).

Good news! I thought about it. I have all my wireless settings to reset to the default factory settings and that fixed the problem. Something about the State of the router must have been extinguished when I put in place the first time. Thank you for helping me!

    • HP OfficeJet J6480 Printing issue.

      Hi all

I'm having a problem with a HP OfficeJet J6480 all-in-one printer.  The printer is connected via a network cable that goes to a switch.  I am able to ping to the IP address of the printer, and everything comes back with success.  However, when I try to access a test page or anything else to print, it still fails.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers several times, but nothing works.  Print seems to be the only question that is reported to me.  I said that the scanner sends the documents back fine.  Any help is greatly appreciated, I have searched all over google without success.  The PC connected to the printer is running XP.  To anyone who can help me, my thanks in advance.

      Scott

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I tried that my problem has not been resolved, and yes I put up a local network between the two devices.  However, it turns out that the driver is giving me grief.  I tried to install a generic driver OfficeJet and it worked like a charm.  The user may not be able to scan, but felt the need.

Printer has been successfully implemented and operational, but today the blue light flashes, it does not connect to our wireless and will not be the same impression with ubs. I disconnected and reconnected several times and removed and reloaded the software, but the problem persists.

Turn off the router and the printer. Turn on the router, wait 3 min. Turn on the printer and see if it connects to the router.

    • All-in-one Officejet J6480: printer Officejet J6480 on Windows 10

I've owned a printer all-in-one Officejet J6480 for a few years.  I bought a new Lenovo computer several months that came with a free to Windows Update when 10 is which would be published.  I managed to load the J6480 software and everything worked very well, including the scanner.  When Windows 10 came out I upgraded to it and rebooted the printer software and everything worked fine.

Then about two weeks ago, all the J6480 would do is printed.  When I tried to open the HP Solution Center to scan a document all I had was a 'ping' and the Center does not open.   So I tried to remove all the HP software and re - load.  It would be the load but not completely.  I kept getting the message that "the application you are trying to use has been blocked to open because it could damage your PC or the loss of data. This is because some applications that worked with a previous version of Windows may not work the same way with Windows 10 ".  I do not understand why it worked fine for a few months with 10 windows and now it's incompatible, unless there was an automatic upgrade (Windows 10 or HP) that is now causing the conflict.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times but to no avail.  Can anyone suggest a solution?

I use a printer all-in-one HP Officejet J6480 with Windows Vista. I had no problem printing until a week or two ago. I can print Word documents and attachments to emails, but when I print Yahoo Mail messages, a message unique page is divided and printed on three separate pages in the landscape, and the message is in the lower left quadrant of the page. The printer is set to print Protrait and other documents print correctly. How can I fix this problem?

      Hi jnburb,

I see that you are seen and problem when you attempt to print the attachments to emails.

Try to save the attachment to your computer first and then print it.  You can remove the attachment after you print it if you wish.

      Finally a resolution...

I tried running an ePrint of New York telephone, and it worked, but still no luck wirelessly from the PC printing.

He said that the WiFi was indeed working.  So, I did a search for new firmware and found that there was one in April of this year (2016).  Downloaded and took a chance on install.  To my amazement, it is actually installed on the printer without any connection "connected".  Who told me that there is an existing wireless link.

Once the install is complete firmware, I tried to print a worksheet Excel from the PC, and it actually printed!  I have to assume there was something in the formware upgrade which allowed the router from LinkSys (WRT1900AC) to communicate fully and to work with the PC.  The router was published in 2014, so maybe it was.

In any event, everything is in fully working again.

Man y thanks to all who have shared their data entry.  I hope this could help someone with a similar problem in the future.

      Thanks again!
