HP Officejet Pro 6830: Instant ink sign up, site Web, reset password connection and why start using immediately?

I have a few questions and problems...

I signed up for the moment of ink and placed on hold since I just bought my printer. I don't need instant cartridges since I just bought my printer and got new ones with the printer.  is there a scenario where it would be sensible to get instant ink hp going to as soon as you get a new printer?  wouldn't you want to use the cartridges you get and delay the instnat hp ink until you need new ink cartridges?

Second, I got ink in the mail even if I put it on hold.

Thirdly, I am trying to log on to the instant the ink site but my username and password do not work and the password reset function won't send me an email to reset my password.

Fourthly, I received an offer of $25 with printer eligible purchase and hp ink signup discount, which i did, and I had to to receive email from hp to submit the $25 discount.  I don't have this e-mail.

so far not a very good experience for this going.

Hi dabrooks, even if you register in the instant the ink program the service does not start and you are not charged until you insert the first game to instant ink cartridges that you receive. The pages that you print using the cartridges supplied with the printer are not counted as part of your monthly pages quota and you are therefore quite correct to use these supplies until they are exhausted, how you install the game of instant cartridges you received when registering in the program. Once you insert these into your printer, the service is enabled and the number of pages you print is followed by the service.

For other issues that you mention in your post, I would recommend contacting the instant ink dedicated support team here. Fill in the required fields and click on the button to display the options where you can select the phone or chat to get help.

Hope this information helps and that you get your other issues fixed in a Masson in due time by the support team.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: color ink is not printing

We just received our 6830 Officejet Pro a few months ago and feel sometimes but not often. Yesterday when I tried to print, printed only black things on the page. None of the colorful text printed at all - not even in a different color or a shade - so it appears none of the color ink cartridges has been used. The printer indicates that all four cartridges are about 50% full.

Things that I've checked or tried:

The computer has the choice of the color selected.

Color copy gives the same result - no color.

I checked the vents and they don't seem to be blocked. I stuffed them with a needle just to be safe.

I hit the bottom of the cartridges where the ink comes out and ink on my fingers. They are not dry.

    I'd clean the print heads.

I tried putting the printer off, and then restarting the computer.

The "test page" and the "print quality diagnostics page" do not print with any color either.

The printer indicates that it not there no new updates.

Color printing perfectly fine a few weeks ago, no sign cartridges drying up. It is under warranty, but it's our third of these printers and really, I prefer not to be yet another replacement if it is possible to solve this problem! (The first two were a high pitched noise all the time while it is plugged). Thanks in advance for advice.

After the execution of the cycle 'cleaning print head' repeatedly, the color ink is now working!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Instant ink

    With regard to instant ink:

    1. I guess the envelope provided with my first series of instant ink cartridges is the return of these ink cartridges instant after vacuum vs cartridges "setup" that came with the computer, correct?

    2. as I am advised by the printer, one at a time as each cartridge is now empty, I guess I can change out vs. having to wait until all color cartridges are empty; and even then, I can change on all color cartridges, leaving in the old black forward to be advised that he must now change, true?  In other words, as for example, anytime that I could have, say, the first black, the second yellow and blue, but the third cyan in at the same time?

I don't know how that affects the sending of new cartridges.

The envelopes could return the cartridges to install or you can wait for the next round.

As for changing cartridges, you can expect to change a cartridge until it is needed.  Very probably the color cartridges will become exhausted to the same time, unless you have a logo that uses only cyan for example.  Usually the color inks would be in about 10% of its use even through the colors for a random set of printing.

Instant ink billing will begin when the first instant ink cartridge is installed - even if it's just one of the four cartridges.

The printer communicates with servers to instant ink to trigger automatic ink expeditions before that you will need.

  • OfficeJet pro 8610: Instant ink

I bought an all in one and registered 8610 to instant ink. I just ran out of black ink with ink supplied with the printer. My first series of ink is on the way. When I get them if I have to replace the ink or can I replace just the instant black with ink from the color are those supplied with the printer.

You can just replace the ink that the printer is low.

  • HP officejet pro 6830: SNAPSHOT of HP INK

My officejet pro 6830 is replaced under warranty after the printhead developed a fault. I had recently installed the first ink cartridges of replacement from the account of the instant ink that I put in place and my question is this, can I return these cartridges with printer broken as an email suggested that they would not work in the replacement printer then just register a new printer with ink instant or what I have to cancel the account and create a new one? Would appreciate some advice before delivery in a few days please. I live in England.

    Hey @NickHarvey,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand that you are curious about the Protocol regarding the State of ink and registration of the subscription when you replace an instant printer ink.  I would like to advise you on this.

First of all, I would hold on these instant ink cartridges.  If they are unused, you can still use them in the new printer.  Even if you have used them before you can return them separately in the same box that comes with your next batch of instant ink.  Essentially, your replacement printer must be "joined" to instant ink and will require a few subtleties of an instant ink HP agent account.  This is where your original account is obsolete and your existing HP connected and the printer identification information entered in a new instant ink account.  Note that these administrative procedures are not something you can do for your self as quickly or effectively as an agent, then you will need to reach out for support.  If you prefer to do business by phone, click on the link below to get help from your region number.

If you would rather manage this chat live or email here's how:

Click here to log into your instant account of ink.

Then use the following screenshots to navigate your way to all the available support options:

    Click 'contact support '.

Then, fill in all fields to create a deal (I skipped this screen that I didn't post any personal info) - this will lead you to the final screen where you can select Chat or by Email.

I would like to know if it is useful.  If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to say "You rock!" by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: MacBook Pro does not print wirelessly for Officejet Pro 6830

I used to have an old HP Officejet 7210 who was once able to print wirelessly from my MacBook pro, but at some point, wasn't able to do wireless and had to print with usb connection.

For Black Friday, we bought an Officejet Pro 6830 and on internet I downloaded the latest driver for my MacBook Pro and my windows laptop of wifes and our desktop PC. The mobile office and windows had no problem, but once more, I was not able to print wireless from the MacBook Pro. When I try to print wireless the printer dialogue indicates he's trying to deal with and then it says "the printer is currently in use". So I'll still have to plug the USB to print with this new printer is less than a month.

I was able to print the wireless test page and he noted that the test page bypassed print drivers. In addition, I am able to go into the printer utilities and see how much ink, I have and the various settings of the printer but I just cannot print documents from applications wireless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Problem with printhead

My operating system is Mac OS X 10.5 Yosemite but who did not have the menu drop down.  In any case, I too more ink for my Officejet Pro 6830.  I ran through the troubleshooting suggestions, nothing worked.  I've unplugged and took ink and back in.  My printer was purchased on 06/05/15.  I do not see the feature that allow the print head be replaced, who would say that my printer it just says: Oxc19a0020 and problem with printhead.  It appears so, there is nothing that can be done other than to buy a new printer?

Solved!  HP sent me a replacement.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: replaced warranty for printer and cartridges of manipulation

My Officejet Pro 6830 AiO printer doesn't have 3 months after purchase (power supply is ok, but it no longer lights). I contacted HP support and a replacement printer is on the way.
Unfortunately I replaced all ink cartridges 'setup' 4 with brand new just a few days before the failure of the printer, so I asked the Lady to support (good person) if and how I can recover the defective device.
She told me to take off the cartridges of the faulty unit and retain them for the replacement printer, but was to serve once the "setup" cartridges sent with the unit will be out of ink.

    Now, I have some doubts:

    (1) when I take my full semi the defective printer cartridges, I fear that the ink will start to dry... should I cover the opening at the bottom of the cartridges with tape? Will it be enough?

    (2) the ink in the printhead of the defective unit will start to get dry as well. The defect of the device is clearly in electronics, while the print head has worked perfectly. Isn't bad to leave the print head is clogged by dry ink? I still have empty cartridges "setup" out (differentiation 'stock' of waste...) should I put them on the print head?

    (3) the defective printer does not turn so to loosen its cartridges, I need to manually pull the cart of the printhead to the center position. Is it Ok?

Thanks to all those who will clear this point to me.

    Hi @RickyGold,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have questions about your printer HP Officejet Pro 6830. I am happy to answer these questions for you!

    To answer your questions:

    1. To properly store the cartridges, I suggest you put them in an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag or Tupperware. Make sure that the contacts on the cartridges are not touch anything.
    2. I wouldn't worry about the obstruction with the defective printer printhead.
    3. I suggest to try to move the cartridge door manually, but don't force it, if it will not move freely. If you are unable to get the cartridges, please contact HPtelephone support for further assistance. As they would be able to replace the cartridges for you. (After you fill out the information, you will receive a phone number.) If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. • OfficeJet Pro 6830: there is a problem with the printhead - estimate of repair costs?

Getting the message "There is a problem with the printhead".  Found the document tracking and troubleshooting got to step 3 where it says "the printer to Service."

Naturally, when I checked, I found that our guarantee missed three weeks ago.  The printer lasted more than a year...

No idea what it would cost for this repair?

Or given the pricing model for ink jet printers, are we better off he throw?

We had an Epson printer that has lasted several years; Maybe we should go back to them?
