HP officejet pro 8100 and ipad

Hello

I installed two HP apps HP ePrint and remote AIO on my iPad.  I can't seem to print in black and white of my iPad but I can do anything from my PC.  My PC has the printer put in place in the control to print in black only unless I need to print in color, then I can go into the settings and do that.  I can't on my iPad.  The distance of the IOA is for printers that have the scan and the cop that mine isn't, but I can use the other functions that they are a little different from the eprint application.

How can I set the printer to print in black and white on my iPad?  My PC is Windows 7 and my iPad later and 7.2.2 update.

Thank you.

Hi Judsi2011,

Thank you for the update.

The iPad and the app ePrint are not like a computer, when you want to print from the app, it is recommended that you check the settings before printing to ensure that print options take into account your wishes. For black and white option is available for the browser in the ePrint and email application that you print from within the app.

I hope this helps.

  • How to connect the Officejet Pro 8100 printer to wireless network

Bought a "nine" Officejet Pro 8100 and want to use via my wireless network. The CD supplied with the printer is obsolete. Updated Apple software but can't see how to connect the printer to the network. Getting Started Guide is no help on this issue. Searched for support without result pages. Utility HP does not provide a method to set up a wireless feature. Find all the instructions, I say first of all make sure that the printer is connected to the wireless network, and that's what I can't find out how. What I forget?

Finally, I called HP hotline for help and was rescued. It turns out that Apple's software update software includes all the required components. The software from the HP Web site is no longer available. It's frustrating to see the Getting Started Guide refer frequently to the HP installation wizard and be unable to locate it. Once the wizard tech took control of my computer and installed the necessary software, it was a breeze!

I also note that compose the support number to talk with a guy was rather brief: between 1 and 2 minutes, I recall. Although there was a menu of the phone, it was not a large (unlike the attempt labyrinthine and often circular to locate the online help).

Insofar as HP knows the necessary software in not available via software update or directly from HP, wouldn't make sense to inform buyers, as well as how to access? At least do not place meaningless, useless on the Web site links that lead into oblivion and frustration!

Although I did appreciate the journey, I finally arrive at my destination. Thanks to Aris, HP technician. You are exceptional!

  • Can I print in black and white with an empty cartridge on a printer HP Officejet Pro 8100?

Only the cyan cartridge is empty, all the other 3 cartridges are fine. I ordered the cartridge cyan online but I need to print important documents today. The power button blinks when I try to print.

I do not understand, black and white must not use a color cartridge to print.

Is there something so I can print before receiving the cyan cartridge?

The printer Officejet Pro 8100 has the same print mechanism like its counterpart of all-in-One Officejet Pro 8600.  This printer has a print head mechanism that contains 4 individual cartridges: CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black).

It will replace the cartridge if the unit provides a message from one of the colors being empty, until the unit will resume printing.  This is a retention mechanism to avoid the product from damage.  I hope this helps.

The Officejet Pro 8100 is a printer only, it is not a multifunction device.

  • More than a printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8100

    Hello

I need to buy two printers wireless to use with an iPad.

But the thing is: if I install TWO identical HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 under the same wifi network, how can I know that I want to print? In other words, my concern is that when I want to print a document using the iPad it will show two printers, but both with the name "HP OfficeJet Pro 8100". Having in mind that each printer is located away from each other in my house, I need to print under the right printer.

Is it possible to change the name that appears on AirPrint so I can distinguish the two printers? Something like "Printer-Studio" and "printer-bedroom"? Or something that works somehow...

    Thank you.

    Pedrosacelso,

It is possible to change the name of the printer, many customers buy more than one printer to a desktop environment and need to change the printer name to identify the printer.

If you have problems with the above steps back on the support forums.

  • HP officejet pro 8100

I have a 4th Gen and the OfficeJet pro 8100 iPad.  When I go to print, it won't give me a way to change the orientation so I can print some large items in landscape mode.  I have applications to the printer but none presents a way to choose the direction and it does no menu on the printer either.  It's a great printer otherwise.  Thank you.

I don't have the information on your part, but I found another function to work from the app that will give me the results I need.  Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100 - AirPrint - wireless

My HP Officejet Pro 8100 worked very well with AirPrint, but then I changed my wireless router and I forgot how the printer was set up originally.

I use the 8100 with my apple iPhone 4s, it is not connected to any computer and I don't know that it was never connected to any computer when I installed it initially.

Question is: how put it all again from scratch? There is no "set up" screen on the printer, so how do we?

I 'know' the printer must 'connect' to my wireless router, but how to do without a connected computer?

My router is a Homehub4 of BT, and it works very well with my iPhone and ipad.

Thanks in advance for the advice - I looked for info, but everything seems to indicate that needed a computer connected physically but I am sure that this was not originally the case - just turn on and AirPlay has worked!

Maybe I need to uninstall "somehow" airplay on my iPhone?

    Help!

No! I said that originally - no PC.

BUT, BE, under the impetus for me to try again and this time, keeping my finger on the blue WiFi button and the power button at the SAME TIME and now it during (what seemed like an age) the connection has been made! Finally, I can print!

  • HP Utlilty for Officejet Pro 8100

I have a desktop Mac with the latest V10.9 OS. I bought an Officejet Pro 8100. It came with a CD with the HP software. When I put the disc in to read, he was rejected because he needed OS 10.7 V. I'm on the line has downloaded and installed the driver. It prints with the USB cable. When I'm gone to use the wireless feature the printer did not find my network (all other computers-ipads-phones work very well). The instructions to set up wireless said that the I need to go in the HP folder in applications and run the HP utility.  There is no file HP. I can't find the HP utility in HP web site. How to fix my printer to go wireless.

    Thank you

    Hello

As a complete software functionality is not currently available to 10.9, it is impossible to set up the connection through the HP software.

Temporarily connect the Paul to your Mac with an Ethernet cable.

Open Safari and then open the menu Hello

Note: If it is not displayed, click Safary > preferences. Open the Advanced tab and failure of the box next the two options bodice and click OK.

Hello a click in the main menu, open the printer EWS by double clicking on the name of the printer.

Open the network tab, under wireless, follow the Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the steps to connect to your network.

Once you disconnect the Ethernet cable, go to Printers & Scanners and add the printer by clicking on the sign more.

    Kind regards

  • HP officejet pro 8100 not review or color printing.

My 8100 Officejet Pro won't recognize color when you try to print from my pictures in Windows 8.1. I've done all the checks... ok of ink, grayscale printing is turned off, blackonly is disabled, deleted the program and resarted from scratch with disc supplied. The computer brand new from Chillblast and is very fast and up-to-date. All inks are new and full.

It will print documents, pdf, etc, but I can't 'see' colors in my pictures, all the previews and print out black and white.

The only thing is that I don't know what, if any, changes may be required in the part "Color management" Settings Advanced... any advice... Thank you.

I just checked the download site pilot official HP and wireddrivers.com site and noticed that the number of driver for my printer Officejet Pro 8100 has changed!

    It was OJ8100_1321.exe... It is now OJ8100_1321 - 1.exe.

I downloaded this driver and all is well in my world printer!

I don't know if that was my question on this forum or my contacts a Microsoft technician, (which was useless and kept asking me to do things that I refused to do what I explained that I had already tried), but in any case, someone realized there is a software problem in the pilot and fixed.

I will now post this as resolved to help someone else who search... Regards Kevin.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Utilities application does not start, Officejet Pro 8100

The printer is working fine, except for the occasional streaks. The problem is when I try to access the cleaning utilities, etc.. When I try to open the app, I see a flash hourglass for a second or two, and it goes no further. I don't see any new task in the windows Task Manager. I completely uninstalled the printer and reinstalled, no luck. Any thoughts?

    Hi @bigkahuna404,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you get a runtime error message with your old printer HP Officejet 8100, after uninstalling the software. I'm happy to help you!

First of all, I would suggest trying the fix it MS, program by Microsoft. If this does not work, you will need to manually remove/disable the item from your startup programs. How to disable Vista and in Windows 7 startup programs.

Hope this information helps and have a nice day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100 - no Auto power on via USB?

I just bought an OfficeJet Pro 8100 to my wife. It is connected via USB to a computer running Linux (Xubuntu 12.04).

So far, it works fine, but it doesn't automatically when a print job is sent to it (which made our previous HP printers). Is there a way to activate this feature?

    Thank you.

    Hello

The auto power off feature is a new feature of the latest models, which completely deactivates the product (as its name) and it must be enabled to work.

You can disable the auto power off feature, the device still will enter energy saving mode and return to normal mode on any work is done.

You can find more information about possible setting below:

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Officejet Pro 8100 printing problem!

I've been using an Officejet Pro 8100 for about four 4 years or so and, recently, he stopped printing the color MAGENTA ink cartridge.  I ran to the printhead cleaning app more app of the alignment of printhead several times; but, in vain.  I also spent cartridges; also, in vain.   By local service organizations, I was told that I might as well buy a new printer as the cost for the service could be almost the same as the cost of a new printer.  If there is no solution for my problem, I've been watching the Pro OfficeJet 8210 as an alternative.  It would be a good choice?

    Hi @elbojon1

If you are looking to buy a new printer Officejet Pro I recommend to check this link: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/ads/ink-decisionator/overview.html

It is a decisionator tool to help choose which printer best suited to your needs.

Depending on how you print, you might be interested in instant ink program. It is a subscription model where you pay the same monthly price and receive replacement cartridges according to your needs. It is cheaper than buying a new cartridge every time. Here is a link for more details: https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/r

Eligible countries and the printer models are described below.
