HP officejet pro 8100 not review or color printing.

My 8100 Officejet Pro won't recognize color when you try to print from my pictures in Windows 8.1. I've done all the checks... ok of ink, grayscale printing is turned off, blackonly is disabled, deleted the program and resarted from scratch with disc supplied. The computer brand new from Chillblast and is very fast and up-to-date. All inks are new and full.

It will print documents, pdf, etc, but I can't 'see' colors in my pictures, all the previews and print out black and white.

The only thing is that I don't know what, if any, changes may be required in the part "Color management" Settings Advanced... any advice... Thank you.

I just checked the download site pilot official HP and wireddrivers.com site and noticed that the number of driver for my printer Officejet Pro 8100 has changed!

It was OJ8100_1321.exe... It is now OJ8100_1321 - 1.exe.

I downloaded this driver and all is well in my world printer!

I don't know if that was my question on this forum or my contacts a Microsoft technician, (which was useless and kept asking me to do things that I refused to do what I explained that I had already tried), but in any case, someone realized there is a software problem in the pilot and fixed.

I will now post this as resolved to help someone else who search... Regards Kevin.

  • How can I change the name of my HP OfficeJet Pro 8100, which is a network printer?

My employer asked if I could change the name of one of our network printers, so it could easily say that it is the choice of location of printers.  I opened the printer from the control panel and choose Customize your printer, general.  I changed the name in the box. After I did it, the printer was grey in the control panel and I got a message saying something about checking the name on the network.  What should do besides changing the name in the box in general?

    LottaLatte,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

One of the dangers of changing the names of "stuff" is that sometimes, this 'trick' is the actual program or a link to a real program that the computer must follow.  Next thing you know, the computer lost track of the program used for - print, get on the network, or make a conference call.

An easy option and one that usually works is the following:

No matter when you want to rename an icon, or customize a program, or do something that can change the way a program - works first of all make a shortcut to the program and then change the shortcut.

    Example:

Control Panel > set display icon > devices and printers >

Scroll to the bottom for printers >

Right click on the Active printer (HP PhotoSmart 8200 series) > select Create shortcut *.

    * Text may vary according to the type of action - you can select "Send to desktop" to create certain types of shortcuts

The action creates a shortcut on the desktop

    Next:

Right-click on the shortcut > properties > general tab >

Replace the name with any text you prefer

If the person for whom you are making the shortcut wishes, you can move or copy the shortcut in a folder, instead of the icon on the desktop.

Can someone help me, please? It could be a hardware problem?

    Thank you

P.S. to the webserver I checked 'connectivity point of access' (di accesso instradamento wireless in Italian Punto) is checked.

    Hello lucait

You are right that the Hp Officejet PRo 8100 is a single function printer which does not directly optional wireless. You can always do what you want to do, but you will need a router to connect the printer to a network, and from there you can use the network routers or set up the feature ePrint for your portable devices.

I hope this solves your post. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. It has been a pleasure. Have a great day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Officejet Pro 8100 won't print color after update software on Mac

I have a MacBook Air with OS X (Yosemite 10.10.3)-.

When I connect the printer via USB, I was able to print by using the generic drivers on the machine. However, as expected, update software detected an update for HP drivers - I installed.

And now the printer does not print in color. I checked every setting I can think, but it is still printing in black and white.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Welcome to the @mandikayencforum!

I have read your current position and the previous thread on how you were not and are not able to print in color from your Mac running 10.10. I saw that already test pages were color printing and would like to know if the test always pages print in color. If they do, a matter for the Mac somewhere, and I have some suggestions for you to do below. If the test pages no longer print in color, please let me know! If the printer is not printing in color when you print test pages, there is probably a problem of cartridge or printer hardware problem.

    1. follow the same steps of @Waterboy71 on your other thread here to reset the permissions system disk and repair of printing: Re: Officejet Pro 8100 refuses to print color (OS X 10.9)

    2. If you still do not have the ability to select the color printing on your Mac, try the procedure described in this post from wisgirl64: Re: won't print in color from my Mac or iPhoto for HP photosmart D110

If you find that the color print test pages, and the Mac does not give you the options to choose color printing, I suggest getting in touch with Apple support experts to see if they can help fix the problem of the OS X.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Can not find the driver for the Officejet Pro 8100 online

I've recently updated to Win10 (the free update, I do not know how many bits). I also then changed my wireless carrier. Now my laptop is not connecting to the new hub, and it seems that there is no driver more - so I don't know if these changes are the problem, or one of them.

I tried to install a new driver and I first started the process, but the printer not print report pages, and then the laptop don't would not recognize the USB cable, even though it had been plugged in all the time. I tried to remove the cable and reinsert; also turning the printer market, but cela did not work.

I also have Virgin and with them her reset the hub, but the hub still not connect to the printer.

Now when I go to the page of drivers hp and it identifies my product, it then tells me there is no drivers for this printer now, and I should come back later in case they are developing.

I can't believe that this is true. Can you please give me a link to a page where I can find and install the driver?

May also explain why the cable USB is not recognized?

    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100: HP Officejet 8100 N811a - network connection is not possible

    Hello community,

I have a pretty standard network with 3 points of access, WPA - PSK authentication, TKIP/AES encryption, running on channels 1-11. I made the MAC filtering is off and DHCP is on.

The printer connects to the network, or via the software of HP Doc or the EWS settings.

It's however possible to connect the city nearby networks so I must be overlooking something.

After that under the HP Doc and he's trying to set up the printer I just get an exemption from the unknown error.

The printer prints fine when connected by cable.

The Network Configuration after the eroor HP Doc said

    Wireless on : Pass
    Wireless Working : Pass

    Connected : Not Run

    Network Name Found : Pass

Printer Settings Consistent : Not Run
    No Filtering : Not Run
    Channel : Not Run
    Security : FAIL

And in the Configuration it lists the SSID but IP Adress states : not applicable

    Ideas?

    Hi @NK10,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to connect wirelessly with your HP Officejet Pro 8100 printer. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I see that you mentioned that you have "3 APs, authentication WPA - PSK, AES/TKIP encryption, running on channels 1-11 I made sure MAC filtering is off and DHCP is on. »

First, I'll assume means AP access point.

    • WPA2-PSK (TKIP) WPA2-PSK (AES) and WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) are all different encryption options. Which one do you use?
    • Do not use more than one type of encryption at the same time, what access points help.
    • The router is connected to one channel at a time, not 1 to 11. What channel are you on?
    • DHCP should only be enabled on the router and disabled on each access point.

Looks like the access points are configured incorrectly. They should have the same type of encryption and be on the same channel as the router. If the printer works well on the wired connection the wireless network configuration is causing a conflict.

Tips for a successful wireless connection:

    • Using a unique network name (SSID).
    • Make sure you have 802.11 g active.
    • The printer cannot connect to the 5.0 GHz network. If you have a double router broadband, the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz network names are not the same. Rename the 5.0 GHz network.
    • Don't hide your SSID (network name).
    • Change the router channel fixed wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, who less than traffic.
    • You have a switch?
    • Do not use a network of comments (SSID).
    • Disable UPnP on the router.
    • Set the router to 20 Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on the router.
    • Update the firmware on the router.

For troubleshooting purposes, follow these steps:

    1. Disable all access points.
    2. Connect the printer to the router wirelessly.
    3. Test print.

If the printer works fine wireless connected access points, you must reconfigure the access points correctly. HP does not support the networks with access point, additional router or switch, etc. The complexity of the configuration.

For more information, see print wireless Center.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100 does not recognize the new router

I saw this question for other printers, so I hope that there is a response to mine.  I just upgraded the speed of my internet service which involved a new router.  We made sure all the computers in the House worked with her, but I forgot to try the printer before the technician left.  Now my computer thinks printer Officejet Pro 8100 is offline (turned off) and the blue light on the printer blinks.  How can I get the printer to recognize the new router?  I guess I have to add that I do not know where to find the code of the intellectual property that is asked for when I go to the start menu, the HP folder, select my printer, etc.  He said: push the button on my printer wireless, so I push button blue flashing light but that does not produce a number.  Help appreciated!    It's an ATT router and I have the WiFi network name and wireless password.

  • Can I print in black and white with an empty cartridge on a printer HP Officejet Pro 8100?

Only the cyan cartridge is empty, all the other 3 cartridges are fine. I ordered the cartridge cyan online but I need to print important documents today. The power button blinks when I try to print.

I do not understand, black and white must not use a color cartridge to print.

Is there something so I can print before receiving the cyan cartridge?

The printer Officejet Pro 8100 has the same print mechanism like its counterpart of all-in-One Officejet Pro 8600.  This printer has a print head mechanism that contains 4 individual cartridges: CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black).

It will replace the cartridge if the unit provides a message from one of the colors being empty, until the unit will resume printing.  This is a retention mechanism to avoid the product from damage.  I hope this helps.

  • I have hp officejet pro 8100

You can print in B & W when a color cartridge is empty? I have a HP Officejet Pro 8100. I had a big project B & Q and turned on the printer and the Magenta was dead.  I couldn't find a way to print in B & W, so I had to go out and buy a new cartridge.  Help

I'm sorry you have a problem with the ink cartridge.

No, you will not be able to print without the color cartridges.

Color cartridges mix with black to form a true impression of black.

So, you will need to replace the Magenta in the first place, so that the printer to complete the treatment.

  • Officejet Pro 8100 ink problems

I recently had a cartridge Cyan 951 fail.  The warranty date is 2014 12 (IE this month), where I can get this replaced?  Any ideas anyone? Thank you

I must also add that the other colors and ink have recently declined almost complete at 1 bar?  This means a printer rather than the ink problem?  All cartridges have much ink, confused?

    Hi there @machp00 !

Thank you for contacting the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide some information that will help solve your problem!

If your cartridge HP Cyan 951 has failed and you need to replace it, then I would recommend to call our technical support to HP about a replacement. Our tech range covers the warranty and replacements on printers and cartridges.

Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-phone-assist.html

You also mentioned that your other color cartridges have run very quickly and your conserned printer can be the cause of this. I recommend you to check the levels of ink on the front of the printer if you have been checking them on the computer.  The front panel of the printer gives you a more accurate display of the ink levels.  You can also run a "printer status report" which will display a page with ink levels, giving you the exact ink level.

Follow the link to check for printer HP Officejet Pro 8100 Series ink levels.  This document covers all they have the means to check the ink levels so you get an accurate reading.

You can also print in draft mode and configure the printer to use the black cartridge only.  This will save ink when printing documents.  In some cases, when you print pictures they tend to use more ink documents then regular and can deplete faster colors.  I can provide documentation on how to change print settings, but I will need you to provide me with the version of the operating system, your computer is running (e.g. Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or Mac 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, etc.).  This way I can give you the proper document for your specific operating system.

Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums! If please, after back and let me know how it goes.
