HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: printing and scanning option is not presented when one clicks on destop icon for HP printer

When I click on the HP printer on the desktop icon, it does not open the usual window for all functions of the printer.  I just get a notification asking if I want to leave the program to make changes to my pc.  Also, when I click on the option of printing a pdf document, the print window that opens only allows me to "Save" the document not printi TI (the 'save' button is substituted for the 'print' button).  Can I save the document and print then after I opened from my windowssaved file, if the printer is working and will analyze in the screen of the printer associated with the.  This is done via the wireless connection, so it works.

Hello

Try following the steps listed below and check if it can help, the steps for Windows 8 is also applicable for Windows 10:

http://support.HP.com/in-en/document/c03640384

If this does not help, try following the "printer software installation & screen opens instead of HP printer Assistant" section below:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-4630-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5305049/model/5305050/document/c04714314/

About the "print" button, I guess that's not related wit the real software problem:

Google chrome opens the print dialog box, and then press the button change.
Select your printer from the list instead of the default save as PDF option and try to print again.

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus works but the Scanner does not

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.  My previous laptop is a Toshiba also upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.  I have a printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 more all-in-one printer.  The printer/scanner works fine with my laptop more older but with the new laptop that I can't get to the printer.  I am not able to get the scanner to work.  I reloaded the software several times but the scanner still does not work.  The scanner works fine with laptop more old, even if it has the same operating system.  I get an error message that says "Scan of the computer is turned on.  You can start a scan from the printer.  Your computer is not listed as an available computer control panel of the printer.  If please restart your printer and try again. "Can anyone help with this?

    Hi ranjisamaraweera,

Even though I'm MVP I represent Microsoft or speak. If I can and will speak
    as I think.

The proper functioning of the printer and Scanner is the direct responsibility of the producer of material
and no windows. There are hundreds of these devices that work correctly on Windows 7 if
those who don't have no drivers and other interfaces which are not compatible to Windows 7 should be
written correctly. Of course many older devices are not supported by their creators for later
Versions of Windows. Microsoft passes but does not write drivers and interfaces
Printers and Scanners need to function properly. So, the manufacturer and no one else, is totally
Manager to see if there are interfaces and appropriate drivers.

Many device makers do not write new drivers and interfaces for older hardware because either
they cannot support the new methods or because they want to sell new hardware.

Personally, I don't think that Microsoft is lying because they also say that device manufacturers have the
Omos unique to provide the necessary compatible drivers and interfaces.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - printing of Documents for glass copy and charger slowly

We bought this printer a few months back, and everything was working great. Yesterday afternoon, the COPY works, the high plateau of the loader page or the scanning tray, from work extremely slow. If I put a document on the glass and do a preview, it shows the preview a few seconds. The question arises when you print the copied document. He made several noises and, a minute later, finally then prints it. If I have something to print from my computer (connected with USB) it prints quickly. Even on the internet with my phone. I tried to change the normal paper but also the project and best, without change. Help, please. :/

    Rich1,

Thanks for your reply. I plugged directly into the wall after reading about it, some problems of fixing on the forums. He has nothing. I finally got annoyed when the problems started affected the printer completely. Three different people take off open back the front, looked on all the rolls and nothing found. I tried to check the ink cartridges to ensure that they have been inserted correctly. As I put my head down on the desk of boredom, I saw... A whole piece of the book all the way inside the printer behind the control panel. He managed to crumble by preventing sliding back properly and through the printer ink cartridges. I asked 2 people to come and look and see if they could find the same paper. No luck, lol. I showed them exactly where and they both were surprised that the size of the paper, and that they could not find. in any case, removed the paper... it's fixed! Thanks for the support! God bless you!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: printer apps

I can't access my applications from the screen of the printer - I get the message unable to connect to the server, check the internet connections.  Internet connections are very good.  I can print emails to the printer and the apps that I have implemented to print every day - they print daily.  It happened for about two months.  Help

    Hey @Buke1,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems with the applications on your Officejet 8620 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. On your printer, click web services icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
    2. Click settings.
    3. Click on delete Web Services.
    4. Click the new icon.
    5. Click on accept and Yes.

Please let me know if you are able to access the apps after the above. If you are, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus prints emails as landscape only; How to assign default A4?

All of a sudden my printer has implemented printing of emails landscape mode; How to put in portrait as a default value for printing?

Hi @OB1214 , welcome to the forums there.

I understand that your emails are printing landscape. If the problem is that when printing of emails, there may be a setting in your e-mail settings to change the print settings.

If all your programs print in landscape, check the print on your computer settings.

Changing the parameters of printing from Mac OS X

Changing the settings to print in Windows 7

    I hope that helps!

If the problem persists, let me know the details and also what operating system you are using.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus - ADF scanning problem

    Hello

I recently bought this printer and used without problem for almost 2 months. However, right now I am struggling with the ADF.

When I put a document to scan by ADF, I have a thin, black line on re-impressions. It is on the right side of the page, starts from everything at the top and goes down all the way.

I have even if it is a kind of alignment line (you know when we write try, or its composition, leave us space on both sides)

This problem does not exist when I scan and print documents of old school way, aka analysis usual. Only the ADF documents'ed have this problem a little. (The thin black line on things reprinted)

    Any recommendations?

    Best regards

Update: I did what jason_h suggested in step 1 and it worked, this can be closed:

  • Connected HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus status reads "problem with printer."

I could just ePrint on an OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus replacement and them have not used for printing yet. I was in the devices page to manage the settings and change an address for one of my devices. The newly added column 8600 State reads 'Online', but also 'problem with printer '. Instructions I was referring to the display panel of the unit for Outlook2003 on the given problem. A check of the display surface showed no information, just a typical home screen. I checked through the display print and found no problems-all functionality is enabled and fully functioning. I checked then the functions of printer in the window 'Printers and devices' of all computers (all running Windows 7 Professional) on the office network. The 8600 are active and full functionality works correctly between the printer and all the computers.

I then close the printer 8600, left for several minutes, and then lit it back and reconnected. The State says 'Problem with printer' remains in the device window HP.

I am at a loss as to what this supposed problem can be and don't know what should be a next step. Does anyone have any advice or information that could help in this situation? It would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to those who could help

HP support responded to my question by e-mail. I was told that the message 'Problem with the printer' is due to a bug in their system. Also said that as long as the status column indicates the printer is "Online" and everything else is fnctioning correctly, don't worry about this.

I consider that a resolution of the post!

HI, how can I scan a picture and only the witout the rest. On a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus?

When I scan I got my photo and all white for the rest of the screen

It has no function of machine harvest in the 8600 software. To get the exact size, you will need to manually set the size for the scans that you do. You can find the setting by clicking on the blue link to advanced settings in the first scan window. Will take you to a place that will allow you to change the size of the scanning area. Hope that helps.
