HP Omni 27-1180ea desktop PC: dvd burning

I just bought a recovery kit fron hp after doing a factory reset my cd/dvd drive will not burn DVDs
It burns on disk then 98.9% says theres an error changed speed to slow down it stays 98.9% for 5 minutes
then ejects disc says its loan, but is unreadable even with media player, creating dvd from cyberlink, windows dvd creation and steering 12
all say done none are playable DVDs burned before factory reset play fine I've uninstalled and reinstalled it please can you help me

I can burn cd but not DVD s

should I again launch together recovery

can anyone help

There are several lasers in the player: one for each function. Then when it will burn or read a way and not a different it probably means that the software is OK or not burn anything. It is likely means that the drive needs to be replaced. I would try a laser cleaner disc, you can get any store of infographic and also run a sfc/scannow from the command prompt and try the automatic repair of Microsoft running tool.

I doubt that this will help, but pretty easy and worth a try. My best guess is that the drive must be replaced.

  • I can build in the Satellite Pro 4600 DVD burner?

    Hiya

Can anyone help with this? Has anyone equipped with a DVD burner (dvd - rw drive Toshiba sd-r6252)?
Which models are compatible? I'm good fight opening and Exchange.
    Compatibility just in fact know.
    Thank you

    Hello

I put t found any information if this drive is compatible with the Satellite Pro 4600, but you should be careful to replace the drive.
You should check the dimensions of the car. Very important is the drive (master, slave, csel) settings because it is not possible to change this settings as on the usual desktop drive.
I'm not sure about the settings on the Satellite Pro 4600 but the ASP Toshiba should know that.
You can also order the caught player supported by the Toshiba service partner in your country.

  • External good DVD burner need for Satellite A30-203

Can someone suggest a good external dvd burner for my A30-203
I think I need to copy the videos of the laptop I think that their storage on the laptop uses a lot of memory.

Can someone recommend / help please.

    Hello Ken

It will be interesting to know what is your priority. Do you want ultra-thin DVD burner and take it with you or you want to copy all that at home.

I ask this question because I used the old Satellite 1900 with external DVD writer. My old Satellite has USB 1.0 only and I bought the optical disc player placed in the external case and hooked up with my Satellite via the firewire port. I was very satisfied and data transfer was excellent. I must also say that desktop DVD burners can run with faster burning speed.

Your laptop has USB 2.0 ports, and you can use the USB connectivity for external device. If you want to use at home I recommend you to use something like this. I had the same manufacturer. It works perfectly.

  • "Stop error" suspected to cause driver corrupted for user installed DVD burner.

I get a "BSOD" (blue screen of death) everytime I go out with my Philips DVD burner. Under XP Home on a Dell Dimension 2400. Installed this writer a couple of years ago and have used it without any problems, however started getting this error about 6 months ago. MS produced a report when I rebooted after the last incident - "you received this message because a device installed on your Windows computer driver stop unexpectedly." This type of error is referred to as a "stop error" that requires you to restart your computer. "I followed all the steps described in this report to address the cause of the erroor. However, one of the steps refers to "Uninstalling the driver", but it is a step of manned by menu windows which seems to me that it's not really uninstall the driver - it's just a procedure they wrote such fact, it (start - control panel - display categories - Perf. & Maint - system - hardware - device Mgr - disabling/uninstalling). After you follow these steps, you get a message from re - install the device by clicking on a box. In my view, the same driver is used. It is corrupt nothing has changed and I will continue to get this error. I would like to know where the real driver is located so I can delete it and then go online to download a new driver. However, because my o/s came pre-installed by Dell, MS isn't going to help (unless I pay for the help) and Dell won't help because they didn't install the unit and the Philips site is useless in trying to get technical information as to where their driver is on my hard drive. I checked Event Viewer - System Log and found 'Source = system error category' and the real codes of 4 parameters (addresses memory I think) [that MS would only be able to interpret] for this date and time. I might have to go the route of 'pay' people with MS, but before doing that I would try to fix it myself. Dell site will not download the driver that already exists on my HD and is the latest version. Tools Dell system does not include this unit in its analysis of material either. So - I hope that someone will be quite kind to give me any suggestions where to find this particular driver - I can't find anything that looks like a pilot in the Philips records. Thanks for any help offered too!

  • Windows XP default engine of DVD burning

I tried to burn a DVD using DivX To Go program, a DivX file for playback on my DVD player.  Because of a bug, DivX suggested that I have to burn the DVD through the default Windows burn engine as a data file. It's my insertion of a blank CD/DVD disc in my CD/DVD burner and choose "open writable CD folder using Windows Explorer", then copies the file DivX in Windows folder and selecting 'write files to CD/DVD' to start burning the disc. This is where the problem arises. My desktop computer Dell Optiplex PC with Windows XP Professional set up default engine combustion, will only burn a cd and not the desired DVD host a feature film (up to 4.7 GB). He will accept the feature length movie file, when I have a CD in the drive and will then notify to the effect that it is not "enough room" on the CD for the movie file. When I insert a blank DVD in the drive, Windows will not accept the transfer of the movie file and advise you to the effect that the "difficulties have arisen.

How to solve this problem? My two CD/DVD DVD burners burn and playback with software such as Nero on my PC without no recoil.  What must I do to remedy the situation of Windows?

    Thank you

    Gerrytrix

    Hi Gerrytrix,

Try using Nero software to burn DVD in Windows XP.

Note:   software use of third parties, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • CD/dvd burner writes correctly, but displays the error message ' medium not present-tray closed. - 0X023A01'.

    Hello

I have a unique problem where my cd/dvd burner burn my data to a recordable cd (not verified with recordable dvd yet) correctly, but after the burning process I get an error message "(devMediumNotPresent_TrayClosed) closing session error (Session: 4 medium not present-tray closed. - 0X023A01'.)"

I tried roxio and nero, cdburnerxp, but I get this error on the whole. However, the burn is successful. I can open the data burned in my laptop or other computers and use the same drive to burn more data in the other computer. I tired to reduce speed, but it is of no use. I have also reinstalled the drivers but no use at the end I also did a clean uninstall of Roxio-> then installed Nero-> Nero clean uninstall-> then install Cdburnerxp 4.3.2.2140.

Use the same media brand in my desktop LG cd/dvd combo drive, and things are absolutely perfect.

    Hello

I got my ODD back to normal. The simple solution was to clean the lens of the drive. I called a Dell technician. He inspected the car and found that the problem was due to an unclean lens. In fact, I have never cleaned the lens since I bought the laptop in February 2008. I used a lens cleaner with 6 brushes Writex.

I also checked the drive by
    1. create a Live CD: Ubuntu
    2. a burned DVD
3 burn a different brand CD

Above all 3 tasks are normally carried out with any error. The player read / written correctly.

    Good bye.

  • CD/DVD burner problems said that it is damaged or missing? Anyone has any ideas to help me solve this problem?

Hello, I'm trying to fix my burner but I tried to uninstall and reboot my computer to see if the problem might be to set but he told me that my driver cd is missing or damaged, and I don't know what to do besides put my computer back to factory settings. So if anyone knows something I can do like that I don't have to put it back to factory settings it would be great.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: My CD/DVD burner does not work and it is said that it is damaged or missing. How can I fix it?

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer
