HP pav:p6310y and corsair cx500

Hello. Bought in 09' or 10' trying to upgrade my p6310y so I purchaded corsair psu cx500. Well ive unboxed and sata and although six pins are easy, there is a cpu connector and my pci - e connector which does not connect to the Mo Pegatron. Google search for this answer I see people suggesting the cx 500, but I don't see how. What I still have to use the cpu connector or pci-e card? Any help would be greatly apprciated.

Hello

You can use the ATX 4 power connector pins. Each Corsair CX power series you will find a power supply ATX 8 connector pins that must be shared (4 + 4) to get the four pin connector ATX.  These FAQs to Corsair will help you with your questions.  Watch how split the eight pins ATX power supply and use only four pins.

If you don't have a PCI-E card that requires a 6-pin connector so it isn't a problem.

This site will also help you identify power supply connectors.

  • Pavilion 6540y: the upgrading of power supply and graphics card

    I need to update my graphics card. What is the best inexpensive card graphics and power supply to buy for my HP Pavilion 6540 Y. I use it mainly for work and graphic design. Currently, the stock video card doesn't have enough memory to effectively run Photoshop and painter with three monitors. Photoshop's request at least 512 M of memory for what I do, but I'd like to at least 1 GB. Sometimes I will have Photoshop and painter running at the same time.

    Hello

    I love the Corsair CX500 or the 520w Seasonic because they adapt to the physical dimensions for your PC.

    Your first consideration should be Support HP or HP sales during the consideration of upgrades or replacement of memory. If you want to consider other manufacturers of the best way to avoid memory problems is to contact one of the leading manufacturers of memory. I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston andCrucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs that you need, then contact commercial or technical support to check that you have selected the correct DIMMS. If you buy directly from manufacturers, then they will stand behind their products.

  • Pavilion p7-1010: Corsair 500W power supply

    I have a p7-1010, providing greater power needs because of a new graphics card, and I'll probably go with a Corsair 500W, based on several recommendations on this site.

    The power supply being replaced is a REV Bestec ATX-250-12Z. D7R, which measures 140mm depth x Width 150 mm x 86.4 mm high.

    Power supply Corsair CX500 is exactly the same measures, however, the direction of the fan is not the same.  The Bestec fan is on the back and blows air from the inside to the back.  The Corsair fan is represented at the top or at the bottom?

    The Corsair CX500M is represented on Newegg.com as a measure of depth 150mm x 160 mm wide x 86.4 mm high.

    I have two questions: 1) isn't that important on the fan?

    (2) or Corsair fit, even if the modular model is more than 10 mm wide?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Corsair power supplies I know all blow them air at the back.  Evacuation of hot air inside the PC help with cooling.

    The different dimensions will result in less space between the power supply and the optical drive.  The cables will be very tight, but if you have an empty additional optical Bay then you can stuff the extra lengths in the empty Bay.

    Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion p6310f desktop and it is card mother M2N78-(Violet6). According to specifications, your computer will support the following improvements;

    CPU / processor;

    Max TDP = 95 Watts

    This motherboard only supports AM3 processors.

    Supported memory is limited to DDR3 modules only.

    HyperTransport 3.0

    AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)

    DIMM / memory;

    Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)

    DIMM types supported: PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066) PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) or

    Non - ECC, unbuffered single memory

    Supports 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB DDR3 DIMMS

    Dual channel memory architecture

    Power supply;

    All ATX12V v2.3 power supply about the same size as your original factory supply. The rated power is really depends on the requirements of the graphic card installed on the computer. In general, the Corsair CX500, or CX600 are highly recommended and known to fit most HP consumer. It seems that Corsair has recently expanded the range of CX to include some modular power supplies.

    Graphics card;

    Almost any PCIe x 16 v2.0, v2.1 and v3.0 should work on your computer. The games current and/or futures contracts, you intend to play will determine what graphics card, you must install. As you like it is a "gaming platform", I would use a Nvidia GTX 550 Ti, GTX 650 Ti, or more... or an AMD Radeon HD 6770, AMD Radeon 7770 or higher.

    If you really want to use a new case not HP and the water cooling, I wouldn't bother upgrading your HP p6310f. Instead, I'd build a new system of measurement from the ground upward. This will allow you to use the latest available technology.

  • P7-1490 upgrade graphics card and power supply

    I just got a GEFORCE GTX 650TI stimulate the graphics card.  The 300 watt Power Supply on my P7-1490 can't handle it because I need a 6-pin power connector.  The 1490 comes with a 300 Watt power supply.  I need something at least 450 watts.  What upgrade adapts to my box.  Also, the Jasmine motherboard can handle the new graphics card.  It fits into the PCI Express slot.

    Please look at the Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M power supplies for your needs. Yes, the card of mother Jasmine in your p7-1490 should be able to manage the GTX 650 it. In addition, you need to enable 'Secure Boot' and possibly 'Legacy Support' in the BIOS before installing the GTX 650 it.

  • Updated my graphics card and have a question.

    I have a HP p6620f and im wondering if a GTX 460 will fit. I read that it occupies 2 WHAT PCI/E slots so Im wondering if anyone knows if it will work on my pc. Also, I'll upgrade my power supply to the power Board.

    Hello

    The typical NVIDIA GTX460 will fit in your PC if the adjacent location on the PCI-E x 16 slot is vacant.  Please consult the motherboard plug for the p6620f.  The GTX 460 uses only one PCI-E x 16 slot.

    However, there is at least a model on the GTX 460, which is the single slot width, but the map is 11 "long that could be a problem in your PC.  Open your PC and do some measure and see if a map 11 "will fit all leaving room for power cables that correspond to the end of the card.

    You need to replace your power supply to support the GTX 460, that the power supply in the p6620f is only 250 watts.

    The Corsair CX500 will do the work while allowing a high power.

    BTW, I use the typical width GTX 460 and a Corsair power supply.

I have several HP computers around the same age as yours and I have no problem even with retail graphics cards installed. Many of these nVidia that GeForce GT cards will meet your needs and require only a 300 Watt power supply. For most ATI HD cards, you need to upgrade your power 400 watts or more. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are excellent choices and are known to adapt to most cases of HP. Your computer supports the following processors up to 125 watt TDP.

  • I have a HP p6813w, and I want to update my video card. Any suggestions?

    Will not install the card, because I'm a total computer illiterate. But I need some advice on what card to purchase. I have the HP p6813w and am on a Windows 7 64-bit system. The vehicle currently has an ATI Raedon HD 4200. But I play Sims 3 (yes I know it's a girly game, but I'm a girl) and this card is not supported. The HD 5670, 5700, 5800 are; as are many Nvidia cards - mainly the GTX series.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    I looked online and was originally going to just buy one at Best Buy, but others are a lot (as in 1/3 price) cheaper. And I'm not all that impressed with the Geek Squad.

    In any case, thank you in advance for your advice.

    BTW, in case it is important, I just buy more RAM to my computer - so I currently have 14 GB. In case it makes a difference. Again, thank you.

    koffimartine1975,

    I got your PM on a new video card.  The last time I checked, the ATI Radeon HD 6850 is a great buy at $130 after rebate.  The NVIDIA GTX 550 it is also a good buy at $120 after rebate.  The Corsair CX500 is a supply of quality at the price of $40 after rebate.

    You can review the comparison between the two cards video here.  The HD 6850 is faster, costs $ 10 more and supports ATI EyeFinity to multiple monitors.

    These "how-to" HP articles should be useful if you decide to install the device yourself.  Adjacet slot on the PCI-E x 16 slot must be vacant.  Review of the the motherboard specifications.

    One of the issues I see with the SIMS 3 is that it is only a 32-bit program that won't get the best out of all the memory of your PC.  Windows 7 64 bit does a very good job in the management of memory for 32-bit programs, but the address space of 4 GB (limitation of 32-bit) for the SIMS 3 can be a limiting factor in performance.

  • Power supply and graphics card update

    Hello

    I own a HP p6610f desktop computer and want to upgrade my power supply and graphics card.

    Power supply:

    I saw recommended Corsair CX500 and I found a CX500M of Corsair for sale. I'm fairly certain that it will work with the graphics card, I'm considering the purchase. The CX500M would work with my device?

    Graphics card:

    I have need later in the technology of graphics card but I still want to improve my current AMD Radeon HD 4200. I plan an AMD Radeon HD 6570 because it meets my needs and fits my budget. Would this work with my p6610f and a PSU Corsair CX500M?

    If it helps, I want to update the graphics card to play some place the modern games (Assassin Creed Revelations and maybe Assassin Creed 3 on low heat) and possibly install a Blu - Ray player.

    I ask because I can't seem to find an answer clear enough to calm my fears to ruin my computer if I go with these two options.

    Thank you!

    Food: The CX500M of Corsair is a great choice and will definitely enter the computer.

    Graphics card: you can get a Radeon HD 6670 for the same price as a Radeon HD 6570 and on a faster card of 20 to 25%. Or a little more money, you can get a Radeon HD 6770 and about 125% faster. In all cases, measure from the rear of the case further along the PCIe x 16 location plan. Just shy of an obstacle comes as long of a card you want.
