  If you have an old XP PC with only 1 GB of RAM, it is not likely to Win7 or 8 to run at all.

  If you buy a new computer, you can downgrade (people feel it is really an upgrade) to Windows 7 only if you have Windows 8 Pro. It is not normally sold on consumer machines.   Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

  I installed a new hard drive and clean installed Windows 7 from a dvd, so I could then install Windows 10 from a record since the upgrade on my pc failed repeatedly.

  After I installed 7, everything worked except that I can't go online. I get error code 0 x 80070017 that tells me to install a network adapter or reinstall a driver. My internet connection in our House work that my husband is able to get online. We have Verizon DSL internet via a network cable.

  My husband downloaded the necessary driver for my pc to a website of HP flash drive, but it Wouln't install/run on my pc.
