HP Pavilion 15 laptop: The laptop has been shutdown automatically

I've been using this laptop for almost a year now and it has never happened before with me. While I was working on the laptop, it stopped all of a sudden. Any order of work which includes the display, the light power, HDD witness, all but fan of led. Fan was working at a speed much more than normal.

I tried pressing the power button, long pressing the power button to force the system to stop, as I tried to connect it to the charger, but nothing has changed. It were not protesting same power cable connected light. It was so weird to me. My battery was around 40% at the time of closing down.

Finally, I removed the battery and inserted a second time to restart the laptop.

I was just to find out what happened and why it happened all of a sudden. Given that it was the first time, I don't want it happen again in the future. So, if someone can tell me why it stopped all of a sudden. Is there any log that is stored in the PC for such events, I can give you, but you must tell me where could I find.

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

These things can happen because of hardware problems or software issues. From what you describe, it actually froze, did not stop automatically. You're the one who took the dough to force stop.

Given that this only happened once so far, I would recommend you don't change anything at the moment, but just check a few things to ensure the most critical parts are OK.

-You can go to start > > settings > > Control Panel > > administrative tools > > event viewer to examine the most recent activity log.

You can check the logs of Windows (System and Application).

Please, do not be afraid if you see a lot of red or yellow points - not all of them critical - it is a simple logging system

-You can search your computer for malware/viruses to make sure there is not everything. Some may cause locks.

-Check the status of Windows Update in Control Panel and it is not set to automatic, but rather the value in order to warn you before you download and install updates. Sometimes, if a updates takes longer to download/install, a computer might freeze.

    If the operating system is preinstalled, as it appears as the product key sticker was on the bottom of the laptop, NO, you will not find a product key that you can use for any purpose useful in your system.

    The only product key you would find in your system is the manufacturer factory Installation product key that is used for multiple facilities only during the original production.

    If you want to reinstall the operating system, contact the manufacturer and ask him either send you recovery disks to reinstall the operating system, what they should do for a small cost and also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your laptop to do the same thing, which is to reinstall the operating system.

    None of these methods relocation normally requires that you insert a product key when reinstalling.

    p.s., serial number (SN: xxxxx) is to do with the identification number to the manufacturer if you ever contact them so that they can search for details of your laptop and there's nothing to do with the product key.

    Search-> find MSCONFIG in top box - just right-click on it - RUN AS Admin Startup tab

    If the machine has been 'improved' during a repair - then they must have attached the relevant sticker of COA or PoL card to the machine.

    If they don't, and you do not specifically for the upgrade, then it has never been a valid upgrade.

    Method 1: Try to boot in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    Method 2: If the problem does not exist in Mode without failure, then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

    Method 1: Run Windows media player convenience store settings and check.

    d. run Windows media player settings troubleshooter.

    Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall Windows media player.

    I suggest trying the deactivation and activation windows media player by following the steps below and check if it solves the problem.

    1. press Windows key + R to open the run command.

    2 type appwiz.cpl , and then press enter to open programs and features.

    3. click on "turn on or off windows features".

    4. uncheck the 'multimedia' and click ok.
    5. restart the computer when you are prompted.

    Most of the errors are correctable. It's just that the BSOD errors are usually harder to fix than many others. Two reasons for this. One is that the system is usually more difficult with the result that the investigative process is hindered access. The other is that the initial error report indicates only the general nature of the problem and not the specific cause. If the system has been activated to provide a more detailed memory dump reports they can be analyzed. The problem for most users is that they do not have the computer skills to take on the task.

    2 do you have added or removed any hardware or software during the period, shortly before the problem occurred. If Yes please provide details.

    3. are you able to access the computer in safe mode without the error occurring? My second link provides details on how to access safe mode if you have not done this before.

    4. your computer is a desktop or a laptop?

    5. What is your computer brand and model?

    6. what you precisely through a Windows XP CD? Not all computer manufacturers provide a CD. Your answer to question 5 could lead me to discover an alternative so you worry if you do not have a CD.
