HP Pavilion 500 400 a: cable in bulk

When I replaced my hard drive I found a loose wire just hung right next to the hard drive that is not connected to anything? the hard drive is connected and works, might be loose cable to a video card?

Here is a link to explain various coming of wiring of the power supply. It corresponds to one of these?

  • Pavilion 500-056: accidentally disabled my speakers! sound/no

    So here's the scoop. My computer (HP Pavilion 500-056) had been broken for a year now, and I finally fixed and reinstalled windows 10. Everything worked well and I was very happy until I realized that I had no sound coming out of my speakers. Through my process of DIY autour, check the cables and the entry and other output sockets, there seemed to be no problem. I went in the sound mixer, and there, I accidentally disabled my speakers, so they don't pop up on the list more! I have no idea how to turn them on now, and I still have no idea how fix my sound. If someone could help pronto, I would be very happy! Thank you!

    Hello

    If they were just disabled, you can re-enable the as follows.

    Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".

    In the next window, right-click on an empty area and enter a checkmark against "Show disabled devices".

    If your speakers are now listed, right-click them, then select activate.

  • HP Pavilion 500-311no: the hp Pavilion 500-311no upgrade

    Hp Pavilion 500-311no desktop PC, I bought a few years ago and now I feel like I would get some more power out of it then is it possible to upgrade this computer. I use mostly this pc for a game so what I'm looking to upgrade is the gpu. It seems that the motherboard supports the latest grphics cards and I think they should also fit the case. Incase of replacement parts, the power supply needs to be replaced probably as well. Also overclocking motherboard support and how the overclocking and replacement parts affect warranty?

    Greetings,

    You have some positives on your side:

    PCIe available x 16 slot 3.0.

    UEFI BIOS.

    Your chassis will limit the duration of the update of the graphics card.

    You have only a 300 Watt power supply.

    Most of the HP motherboards cannot be overclocked. I have a processor Intel 4820 K. HP offers limited overclocking abilities with this processor.

    Check the measurements on the existing power supply.  A diet of 600 runs most new graphics cards high-end. NVIDIA cards tend to require less energy than equivalent AMD cards.

    Check the height of the rear panel input/output where the x 16 slot is to determine the maximum length of a new card.

    Shop for a new card graphics and power supply when you know your limits. The high-end cards are usually double slot. Make sure you have room to install a card double slot. You need to be able to burst a second plate of input/output rear panel to install a dual slot graphics card.

    Modular power supplies reduce tangles of cables in the chassis.

    Hi @Fraser11,

    Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.   I believe that since the departure of the power supply in your Pavilion 500-076ea that your hard drive is no longer detected.   I am convinced that I will be able to help you find a solution, and I ask only that pay you it forward. When solve us the problem, I would mark you kindly post as accept as Solution so that others have the same or similar problem can find what worked for you.

    Please use the document of replacement of the power supply HP and Compaq Desktop PCs as a checklist to make sure that nothing was missed when you have replaced the power supply.  From my experience, most of the time when this error occurs after the replacement of the power supply there is a cable that is not properly plugged.

  • Pavilion 500 - C60: new office reads, "ERROR: no boot disk was detected or the disc has failed" at startup.

    Just bought Pavilion 500 - C60, running Windows 8.1 64-bit and am doing everything on old HP running Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2. Has not gone smoothly from one thing to another, but I think everything comes together. A couple of days, began to receive the error message at startup or, if I COULD do so that it starts would go for awhile and then would get an ERROR message, requiring restart. Usually after obtaining the error message several times, the computer would then initialize. Tonight, I couldn't override the error message for anything! When you press power button / stop, I hear (HD) running for a few seconds, everything is silent, and then the error message appears on the gray screen dark in white letters, BACK very and sinister looking! Any suggestions? Had the computer about two months and it has not been easy.

    Not good!  Check all the connectors and the hard drive to make sure that they are correctly wired in place. Make sure that your cable is not reversed.

    Contact the seller if still under warranty for repair.  This could be the hard drive or motherboard and the problem lies the only diagnosis from a repair facility.

  • HP Pavilion 500-141ea: GPU for HP pavilion 500-141ea

    Hello

    A couple of years ago, I bought a HP pavilion 500-141ea, I am now looking to upgrade the GPU and the power supply on this subject. I want to replace the old GPU with a GTX 960 but I unure know if it is compatible with my motherboard because I'm not sure if it has the version of the bios that is needed to support the 960 GTX

    Information on the motherboard:

    MS-7778 (Jasmine)

    BIOS version: FRIEND 80.46 10/03/2013

    If it doesn't not work could offer you some suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Madness 78, welcome to the forum.

    960 GTX requires UEFIin the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS / Legacy.  Your motherboard has UEFI.  You have two things to consider: 1) the power required to run the video card correctly and 2) the length of the card.  The power supply unit (PSU) to the count is 300W.  I think that you will need a minimum of 400W.  I recommend a block of power SUPPLY Corsair of at least 500W.  The modular power supply to reduce the number of cables you are using.  This allows for better air circulation.  You can determine if the card fits by the measure of the e/s rear plate at the front of the computer.  This will allow you to see if it fits and if other ingredients will be in the way of this Assembly.

  • Pavilion 500-160ev: CPU fan control

    Hello.im trying to figure out how to increase the number of turns of my cpu (pwm) fan in my Desktop hp Pavilion 500-160ev. I tried to do it in the BIOS, but there is no such option. Also I updated my BIOS but I can't find anywhere where to change the fan speed, the option is obviously locked. Third-party program does not work as SpeedFan.I have almost tried everything. Any ideas?

    40 c seems quite acceptable.

    The Noctua NH - D9L has a maximum speed of 2000 rpm, minimum speed of 400 rpm

    If it is open to only 800 RPM it shows me that your system runs pretty cool.

    You can install the free programReal Temp, it will show your CPU current temp as well as distance max temp and "the thermal State.

    You can run a CPU Stress Test program to test your fan. As the program your CPU at 100%, you should see the ramp speed of the fan to the top.

  • Turn on two HP Pavilion 500-319na DVI ports

    I just bought a HP Pavilion 500-319na which has been described as having 1 x HDMI, 2 x DVI video interfaces.

    The GeForce GT 705 nvidia graphics card has 1 x HDMI, 1 x DVI taken

    The motherboard has also 1 x taken DVI which was capped with a small piece of plastic with "do not remove" on the subject.

    After advice from PC World, I removed the plastic and tried the DVI socket mother who did not work.

    Is there a way of making the motherboard DVI to work in parallel with sockets of graphics cards.

    Finally, I would like to run two monitors from the DVI Sockets at the same time and have the HDMI enabled.

    This is my first Post ever anywhere so apologies if there is not enough information.

    See you soon

    RSPII

    Please provide the full brand and model, for both monitors information, you try to connect to your computer.

    Based on the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion 500-319na, this model has a VGA port (analog only) integrated and an integrated port DVI - D (digital only) as shown below (please NOTE: embedded video is not available if a graphics card is installed);

    #4-VGA (analog only) # 5 - DVI - D (digital only)

    Please replace the plastic cover that you previously deleted. There is no way to activate the video ports built-in, although a discrete video card installed.

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 705
    DVI (dual-link) resolution: 2560 x 1600 x 32bpp at 60 Hz
    HDMI resolution: 1920 x 1080
    VGA (via dongle) analog resolution: 2048 x 1536 x 32bpp at 60 Hz
    Support of up to two displays at the same time.

    There are several ways to connect monitors to your computer, but you can use two ports on the NVIDIA GeForce GT 705. The discrete card supports DVI - D (and VGA via a dongle) and HDMI. HDMI signal is the same as DVI - D in this case.

    BETTER (recommended)

    Computer-> DVI - D cable-> monitor #1

    Computer-> HDMI to DVI - D cable-> Monitor #2

    GOOD

    Computer-> HDMI to DVI - D cable-> monitor #1

    Computer-> DVI-D/VGA dongle-> VGA cable-> Monitor #2

  • HP Pavilion 500-130DE: HP Pavilion 500-130DE do not see the graphics card in windows and can not change the primary graphics card.

    So I got a new (TG 640) graphics card for my pc. I tested it on another computer the day before. Worked well. I plugged my HP Pavilion 500-130DE and started. I changed my slot onboard DVI cable to the GT 640 and cable says no signal. While the pc was still on I switched the cable back to the integrated graphical location motherboard and got the windows login screen. So I thought that BIOS yet configured when the integrated graphics card (Intel HD 4600). I turned off the pc and booted to BIOS. But I've never seen a such limited BIOS before! Only thing you change is boot order. I saw a tab advanced but could not find the settings that I needed. In the only device manager devices that appears is the HD 4600. So I checked power is 300W should be sufficient for a map of 75W (only need the PCI for power). Someone knows how to fix this?

  • two monitors for HP Pavilion 500-007 a

    I am considering buying desktop HP Pavilion 500-007 a little time. I already have two monitors TeamViewer, two support DVI - I and VGA I'm running just one of the monitors on a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop (laptop current ongoing died after 3 years continuous use).  The current system gives me two monitors to view, computer laptop 17 '' monitor and the Samsung 24 "monitor. I have also a 19 '' Samsung monitor with the same characteristics as the 24 "monitor.

    I want to know if I can use both monitors Samsung on the new office at the same time with good results.

    Both monitors have no HDMI, only DVI - I and VGA connections.

    The new system, I would like to start the monitor 24 "using the DVI - I format and the same thing with a 19" monitor, but the specs of the 500-007 a give only 1 DVI-I have the graphics card or via a connection through HDMI, and then on the motherboard, it shows a VGA port.

    What is the best: run 24 '' via DVI - I and the 19 "via VGA or execution 24" via DVI - I and get a DVI - I to HDMI converstion and run two monitors to the graphics card, or alternatively the 24 "on DVI - I and 19" on VGA.

    I use photoshop for photo editing, as I do a lot of photography work. Videos etc are not a primary, or games, but as also older in order to use the 24 "to better on Visual acuity.

    Thanks Ailsa

    This is the original factory specifications for the desktop HP Pavilion 500-007 a. According to the specification, this model has an AMD Radeon HD 8570 discrete graphics card that supports the use of two simultaneous displays. That this computer is equipped with a discreet graphics card, the video ports on-board integrated are disabled. The AMD Radeon HD 8570 graphics card has a HDMI and DVI - I output and can take care of two digital monitors or a digital and an analog monitor. The supported formats are HDMI, DVI - D and VGA (via a dongle, DVI / VGA).

    Please provide the model number of monitors you want to use with this computer. Two additional DVI - D and VGA monitors as you have indicated, here are some of the possible combinations of connection supported;

    BEST

    Computer > DVI - D cable > monitor

    Technology > cable HDMI-DVI or adapter > monitor

    or

    GOOD

    Technology > cable HDMI-DVI or adapter > monitor

    Computer > adapter DVI / VGA > VGA cable > monitor

  • Screen on HP Pavilion 500 DVI output

    Okay, so I recently got a HP Pavilion 500.  Works great, etc.  I have a monitor Samsung that I use on it which accepts VGA and HDMI inputs.  The Pavilion is not an HDMI output to display, but he seems to have a DVI output.  My question is, after looking in the DVI-HDMI cords, there seems to be a lot of variance cost of cord, so put guard on this kind of DVI output jack is used.  In particular, I'm trying to figure out if this is a DVI - I or DVI - D output jack.  Will be all old DVI-HDMI cable work?  I would be better to get a new video card with HDMI output, if that's what I'm looking for?  Help please!

    Hello

    Pavilion 500 is a series of many models. Sounds like your machine has the following ports on the back:

    3 VGA

  • Need help with USB 3.0 on desktop Pavilion 500-214

    I am currently the owner of desktop HP Pavilion 500-214.

    I noticed that the USB 3.0 ports do not seem to work.  Tried with 2 different brands of USB cables now.

    I connect my Samsung S5 with USB 3.0 desktop.  It connects to the 3.0 for a few seconds and then gives the message "cannot connect USB 3.0 devices.

    Does anyone else have this problem?  If so, how to fix?  Or the troubleshooting steps that you might suggest?

    Help, please.  Thank you.

    "So there is no way to use USB 3.0" so it seems.  It is a problem of Samsung and Windows 10 and not HP

    When Samsung found a solution, then it will be OK.

  • HP Pavilion 500-164 playing through my TV station

    My HP Pavilion 500-164 is not an HDMI Jack on the back of the office.  But she has a VGA socket.  I plugged a VGA cable into my office and my television.  But don't you computer desktop on my TV screen.  Nothing else.  I have a HDMI cable.  Should I get a VGA to HDMI?

    You computer has the following connections;

    3 - VGA           4 - DVI-D           12 - audio: output port (lime) line

    I suggest to use a HDMI-DVI cable and a mini plug cable stereo 1/8 "to connect your computer to HDTV. Alternatively, you can use a VGA cable, but theoretically, the image will be of inferior quality.

    See examples of Amazon.com (RadioShack.com would not work);

  • Desktop HP Pavilion 500-342nem: can I upgrade my desktop computer hp pavilion 500 with the graphics card AMD RX 480 replacing edge R7

    I plan to upgrade my hp pavilion 500-342nem, who was already A7 graphical 240 with the new 480 RX.

    Is it possible to upgrade both the power supply and graphics card?

    There will be no problem of compatibility (PSU Corsair CX 500 questioned?.)

    I heard a lot of chatter on hp restricting the upgrade of their pc.

    The new card will work?

    Any help will be apppreciated.

    @Jeffrin98, welcome to the forum.

    I cannot find the specs of the product to the computer.  So, here's what you need to do.  Press Start + R from the view of the office.  This will open a run dialog box.  In the box labeled type msinfo32 opened.  In the page that opens, check the option titled Mode BIOS.  If he says UEFI motherboard is supported by the video card.  If this isn't the case, you will not be able to move forward.

    The next step is to measure the space where the card will be installed to ensure that it fits.  Measure from the back i/o port to the front of the case.  This will allow you to see if other ingredients will limit the installation.

    The CX500 Corsair power supply (PSU) should work.  However, check how much power requires the video card.  It may be better to buy a PSU with 600W.  High power will be used during peak power needs.  In addition, the card may require additional power connectors.  Also, I recommend a modular power supply.  It allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary, create better air circulation.  It is very important with more powerful graphics cards.  The heat can be much larger.

  • Pavillion 500-214: I have a HP Pavilion 500-214 and need to upgrade the power supply to support a new video card

    I'm upgrading my video card, and the other needs at least 400w.  The existing PSU is only 300w.  What is a power supply compatible to be installed in the Pavilion 500-214?

    Well, we meet again.

    While the minimum requirement is power for most video cards 400W, I always offer at least 500W; 600W is even better.  This will allow a high maximum operating power.  A modular power supply is good in a medium-sized business, because just use cables that are absolutely necessary.  This allows for better circulation of air in the case.

    This is a power supply that should work for you.  You should check the measurements of the existing PSU (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches) with the measures of the new power supply to ensure that it will not go in the space provided.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer, this is not the place to save money.
