HP Pavilion a6242n - no video on the new card graphics hd 5450.

I just bought a new Asus HD 5450 and installed video card.  I plugged my cable vga/SVGA and no video.  I can hear the hard drive churning and hear the homescreen seems so it is booting to the desktop.

I put the video card in my other PC and it works fine.  I reconnect to the integrated graphics subsystem on the HP and it works fine.

I reinstall the video card and still nothing.  HP requires a HP exclusive video card?

Things I've tried so far:

reset the BIOS/power.

Tried my XFX HD 4350 video card.

BIOS modified for start of the PCIe and Auto.  These two don't.

I connect the integrated graphics subsystem and 5450 parallel to the monitors and works incorporated and no driver installed for 5450 and nothing shows for 5450 in windows update or Device Manager.

Is x 16 PCIe slot broken?

Any other ideas?

Hi Mark,

Some of the old HP PC don't like AMD 5xxx cards.  There were messages on this forum where the AMD 5xxx did not work in the old HP PC.  The ASUS 5450 is a version 2.1 of PCI - E card and it may not be compatible with the PCI-E x 1 in your PC slot.

Try a NVIDIA video card that is adapted to the size of power supply in your PC.  Usually, the video cards more low end AMD details indicate a 400 Watt power supply and retail NVIDIA video cards indicate a minimum of 300 watts power.

  • Any strategy of video for the new iPad?

I know the video for iPad shhould be a mp4, H.264 encoding file.

As the new iPad has a retina, video it requires of higher resolution screen.

Y does it anyone has any idea on this that the best setting when I try to compress the video for the new iPad?

File size vs quanlity (resolution, bitrate, and anything else?)

Recommendations for the ipad 3 are not different from that of previous models. For stick video full screen at 1024 x 768. The rest really depends on the video itself.

  • Error 0X0000007E Stop after installing the new card mother and CPU.

Original title: Stop error after installing the new card mother and CPU.

After I installed a new motherboard and CPU I got a stop error 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XB77EA756, 0XB84C742C, 0xB84C7128) and it restarted immediately. It always starts in safe mode, but I can't understand what is wrong. The old processor is a pentium 4 3 ghz, not sure what the motherboard was, new processor is AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual core 4200 + and I only know that the motherboard is an ASUS socket AM2. Device Manager does not recognize the CPU correctly, it shows just two entries called processor. As far as I can tell, it's almost certainly a driver issue, but I don't know how to diagnose or fix this. I am running windows XP home, I removed my video card, running 2 hard drives at 120 g (M) and 200 g (S), a DVD drive (M) and a reader of CD (S), and a stick of RAM to 1 GB.

If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

    I hope this helps.

  • Possible to move the Pavilion DV5 hard drive to the newer model?

    Hello.

I have a little old (but LARGE) laptop - DV5 - 1133ca (FS036UA@ABC) that has intermittent problems with the display.

It blinks and goes sometimes totally blank.  Then I plug in an external monitor and continue to work.  A few days later, he can work or not.  Fix sometimes repositioning the screen slightly with the hinges.  I'm sure it's some sort of cable inside or something.

In any CASE - due to time and complexity with the upgrade to a new laptop (reloading programs, etc.) and the daily use of it - I was wondering if it was possible to buy a new laptop HP OR a model slightly more recent HP Pavilion (IE. Dv6 and DV7 with a little more power) and simply swap my hard drive.

I understand that I would have probably to update many of the drivers - but in general would that work?

Y at - it or the particular models that I should consider to mitigate any possible problems?

    Is this a good solution?

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Bill

  • Constant buffering while playing video on the new Macbook

New Macbook plays some great videos (youtube, etc).  But for the video that opens in a new window of adobe flash player, the video must stop and buffer constantly.  Video won't even play a whole minute without stopping to buffer.  It's really annoying.  I have a Dell 7 year and hoped to replace with the Macbook.  I try to play the same videos on the old Dell and they play fine with no buffering at all.  Same internet connection and even the versions and settings within adobe reader.  Is it possible that there is a plant affecting somewhere on the macbook, that must be changed.  I don't understand why this new machine needs to buffer every 60 seconds and the Dell plays just the video without problem.

  • The program monitor is black, no video after installing the new card chart

I bought a graphics card PNY Nvidia Quadro 2000 a few days ago, and since that it is been installed, I was unable to watch videos in my program, the source or the same reference monitor.

Similarly, if I designate one of my monitors soley for video playback, the screen is all black, and as the timecode to advance my calendar I only hear.

My project is using "The Mercury Playback Engine GPU acceleration" for first Pro CS6.0.1

I went to use a graphics card with two graphics cards and installed a third-party monitor. I spent these days around trying everything I could think of, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the first.

    Hardware specifications:

    Windows 7 ultimate (64 bit)

    HP Pavilion h8-1230z

    AMD-FX8150 Ghz 8 core processesor 3.59

    16 GB OF RAM

    PS 600W

    EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 550Ti

    PNY Nvidia Quadro 2000

    I use a PCI x 16 for the Quadro 2000

    I use a PCI x 1 adapter w / x 1 - x 16 slot for the 550Ti

    Could be the problem?

    More information

Vectorscope, all scopes, YC - waveform Display modes all work.

I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for both of my cards.

I did not receive messages error or had problems in After Effects CS6, as video playback works fine in my other adobe applications.

Since you have very recently purchased the Quadro, try to return it and replace it with a nVidia GTX 670. Approximately equal to the price, but the GTX 670 is much faster and it supports up to 4 monitors, so you can remove the Ti 550 and sell.

I guess your problem is configuring dual video card that use different drivers. Double video cards is possible, even if PR can use the main map, but drivers must be the same for both cards and this is not the case.

Recovery disks do not use the Image you did install Windows and all software/drivers hard disk from the factory original.

You would start with repair cd to restore the Image.

Check your wireless card form factor.  Instantly, it shows the old style card, and on that, it shows the new style half mini-map.

You will have one or the other.  Only one of form factors will work.

In addition, HP has removed this restriction of starting BIOS about a year to 15 months.

I bought a HP 350 G1 in February, and I wanted to mirror screen my PC, but does not support the wlan card, he had.

I know that many members of the forum have been install some wireless cards they want lately in their Intel based PC without problems.

So I had an Intel 6230 HMC dual band wireless card (able WIDI) lying around and it worked without problem, and I can't my smart mirror TV screen with my PC.

Now that I know it works, I just ordered the Intel Dual band 7260 card that has BT 4.0 instead of BT 3.0 a 6230.

I paid only $19.50, so why not?  In addition, it is a new wireless model with WIDI adapter.

It comes on the proverbial slow boat to China.  I'm in no hurry...

    New graphics card: MSI N210-D512D2 graphics card GeForce 210-512 MB, DDR2, PCI-Express 2.0 (x 16), 1 x DVI, 1 x VGA, DirectX 10.1, mono-emplacement

    New: 480w PSU

ERROR:  NO SIGNAL on monitor and can not reset the BIOS to accept the new video card in the PCI slot

PROBLEM: The user reports the monitor suddenly became white with blue lines finally erased.   On start-up, the screen shows "No Signal" then turns off.

    Troubleshooting has included:

Fixing monitor with its cable to another PC - monitor work

Fixing working monitor and cable to the PC - No Signal

There is no boot beeps, fans, lamps, not work cable defeated, no video.   I concluded the embedded video component failed.

Installed the new video PCI - ex card and new power supply 480w and still get NO SIGNAL.   New video card specifications called for a minimum 350w power supply.  The fan on the new video card PCI - ex works.  Search on the HP Support pages indicates that the BIOS should be modified to change the type of PCI slot type in-flight video.  Makes perfect sense to me, sounds like it might work.

How to reset the BIOS when you do not see what you are doing?

I have moved the jumpers to reset the CMOS, but cannot tell if it worked or not.  I tried a couple blind BIOS resets, but I could do this for months.

If I could determine the Version of the BIOS, I might be able to blindly to reset the BIOS.  The Compaq Options of Menu and "BIOS Setup Utility information" web page provides instructions for BIOS version 6 or less and version 7 and greater - menus and access steps are very different.

QUESTIONS:   How to determine the version of the BIOS.  Which key I hit to access the BIOS (F1, F10, esc, Del)?  Which menu I followed to reset the type of video, so how can I save and exit?

    Thanks for any help

  • freezes on Hp IPISB-CH2 with the new installed graphics card BIOS

I have the HP Pavilion Elite HPE H8 1010cs. Motherboard is HP IPISB-CH2. I bought the new graphics card GAINWARD Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4 GB with 600W power supply Corsair CX600M. First of all, I tried my new power supply with my old nvidia 550Ti GPU. It worked perfectly. But when I replaced the old card with new GTX 970, bios freezes on the first power on the window. Escape does not work. I'll be back new graphics card, or is there still some hope in this?

    Hello @Tomas83,

I understand that you are having problems getting your work HP Pavilion HPE h8-1010cs desktop PC with your Gainward GeForce® GTX 970 Phantom 4 GB graphics card. I think that the reason why you're facing this problem is the breaking backward compatibility on the PCIe slots was broken to the around the label Gen 2.1 and you try to put a Gen 3.0 card in a slot of Gen 1.0. In substance, it makes your computer incompatible with the graphics card, that you have chosen to use.  I provide you with an article on the overclock.net site called the final answer to the controversial compatibility of PCIe x 16 version., where the author explains what I've described and going in how he made the decision. I would advise that you read the article, if you have any questions about the issue you address.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP Pavilion G60-458DX - Suggestions for the wireless card must be upgraded to 802.11n

Nice day! I hope that all have a nice time. I have a HP Pavilion G60-458DX running Vista. I want to upgrade the wireless card/adapter to support 802.11n.  I would appreciate suggestions compatible.

    Thank you and enjoy all!

    John B.

    Hi, John:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02985882.PDF

Looks like the only available wireless N card's network without WIRE Atheros AR9280 802.11a/g/n map.

Please see Chapter 3, page 3-7.

Make sure you get this model with the applicable B21 HP for the country you live.

For example: If you live in the United States you need part # 482260-001.

The part is available new from HP for US customers for $63,54.

My advice would be at the request of the part # on eBay and get a model used but tested this card for a lot cheaper.

Here is a list of the card used for people living in the US.

    http://www.eBay.com/Sch/i.html?LH_BIN=1&_sacat=0&_FROM=R40&_nkw=482260-001&_sop=15

No other N Wireless card will work but this one.

And the card must have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

You also have a great day!
