HP Pavilion dm3t HDD is not

HP Pavilion dm3t, Windows 7 64 bit with SP1 installed

Error message: at the start, 'hard disk not exist (03F0).

I just upgraded the RAM in the laptop. The laptop starts fine, function very well. New RAM has been recognized and functional. A ran memtest and that came back fine. Rebooted the computer and got this error. Computer will not start. I removed the hard drive and attaches it to an external adapter. Player is fully operational and accessible in the adapter and attached to another computer. Can access all the files. But the portable dm3t will not start.

Suggestions?

I'm leaning toward this conclusion as well.  If you will provide me with the exact model of your laptop number, I'll see if the parts and information are available to you that do repairs yourself.

If you do not want to attempt a repair yourself your next step is to contact support HP focus on compensation.  If you are in the United States / Canada you can call to the 1-800-474-6836.  If you are not in this area, go to the Site of Support of HP to get contact information for your region.

    Hi all.
I encountered a very strange error: my second HDD are not bootable, but only on my note (have 2 hard drives and I have installed Vista on the first and XP on the second). It worked well for about year.

And once I worked in Vista, I've just going to boot XP and restarted just the note and it did not start more than just initialization on the post screen. It initializes everithing is nice and I can even manage BIOS but goes no further.

After that, I tested each part if it does not my notes to start and this is the second HARD drive. I have tried to swich my HARD drives, but it does not work. Two SATA connectors work although I tested with the first HARD drive. If I comment on second HARD drive in BIOS, the system starts up nice, I can see the second HARD drive and work with it.
But if this is not comment system does not further thant post-test after it initialized everithing!

The strange is that it works well on my desk. Not a single problem with this HARD drive, I installed XP on it and it starts ok.
I tried to format the HARD drive, in order to kill and create the partition, even to write own mbr... None of it worked)
It still won't go note during an office is ok.

Pls if people if anyone can help me with a post serious ideas here or send me an email - [email protected]

According to who, the error condition is: 'non-functional CPU.

So if I buy a new processor and disassemble the laptop and replace the processor, it will fix the problem?

Perhaps, but it is much more likely to be the motherboard. If the motherboard is bad, you can't trust the blink codes that it generates. Failures of the CPU but rarely occur. Motherboard failure happens all the time.

  • The sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm does not work

Hi the sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm does not work.   His "only" works when you use the audio plug with external speakers.   I tried to uninstall the driver, update the driver, microsoft fix - it and troubleshooting steps.  audio device present in the Device Manager and supposedly working properly, mute is "not"on."  visually everything audio related things suggest that the audio is fine and troubleshooting finds no problem... what else could it be?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55036.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click 'Speakers and headphones' (or speakers/HP) once to highlight and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards

    Hey guys,.

I have a pc hp pavilion touch laptop 14, which has been having a defective hard disk that the operating system was not start and the system test indicated that the hard drive contained errors.

I replaced the hard drive with a new one and before installing the hard drive I formatted with a win installation 8.1. I thought the laptop would just start normally to win8, but gave me a screen saying:

boot device not found please install an operating system on drive hard drive (3f0)

The hard drive is new and I did not not how its gives me this error!

In addition, this laptop does not seem to boot from a cd to format!

    Any ideas?

    Hey BHK6,

I found out what was wrong! It was so simple!

  • Cloned new HDD for Pavilion 1210.uk does not start

I am new to the forum so Hi everyone.

I just installed a new HDD (SATA) to my office. BIOS identiified unit correctly and I cloned using HDClone software. He succeeded with 0 read and write errors. All files are accessed through drive letter access. So far so good, I thought. I then tried to boot from the disc again by changing the BIOS boot order. Hoewver, when the trunk begins with the new PC HARD drive crashes with a white/black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner. It is the logo of Microsoft and o/s linen starts (XP).

    Some additional information:

    * Old HARD drive still boots without problem with or without the new drive.

    * I changed the transfer rate of 3.0 GB to 1.5 GB being the SATA 2 drive. That made no difference, then changed back.

I don't know what is wrong, someone has also experienced this or knows what is the problem?

    Thanks for reading.

The cloned system was not built with PATA and SATA drivers.  This could be the problem. You still get the blinking cursor?  You can send an email to technical support HDClone and ask of PATA, SATA problem of cloning.

  • HP Pavilion 23 - HDD not start

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion 23 we bought less than a week ago for our company.  When we arrived this weekend, the computer had a prompt that says:

    Hard drive error

Please run the hard drive Test in the diagnostic system

    Hard drive 2 (3F2)

    F2-diagnostic system

When I hit F2 I ran the test they came and he said intelligently check: not installed, the Long DST: not installed.

I also ran the memory test, and he said it was good.  I ran the rapid and large disc hard test both said the same thing.  I also hard computer restart without help there as well.

  • HP Pavilion DV6700 HDD

    Hello.

Recently, my friend gave me his old laptop, an HP Pavilion DV6700. He kept his own hard drive for security reasons, and when I went back to see what kind of player, he had to, he was a guy I had not seen before. I was wondering where I could buy such a hard drive. I know this isn't an eSata or IDE, but what else could it be? Thank you for your help.

    Hello:

This model uses a standard sata II notebook HDD.

Ask him to give you the connector that connects the hard drive and the motherboard.

Who is still stuck on his hard drive, that's why a little weird exposed end for you.

This is image share and more of it.  You currently see the side with the rods that go to the motherboard.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop does not properly turned off

Hi everyone, I am faced with a wireframe, annoying problem with my less than a month old HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p029tx.

Sometimes, after pressing 'Shut Down', within the screen 2 seconds turns black, but the laptop would not extinguish itself, i.e. fan and power lights stays on always (once, I waited for 1 hour, like only the screen off & pc does not respond, occurs at the same time plugged / battery power). So, I press the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off. The next time he acts as restart, i.e. takes longer to boot and windows plays the startup sound.

This kind of wired issue does not occur on every stop down. It happens probably once in two days of use. Standby, hibernation works very well.

Configuration of the laptop: Pavilion 15-p029tx; 4 GB; Intel I3; 2GB NVIDIA; 8.1 Windows x 64 only language; 1 TB HARD DRIVE. Latest version of Windows, HP drivers, Antivirus updates are installed. PC is in good condition (defragmented HDD, registry, Ccleaner cleaning). Does not overheat is not possible: I have cooling pad and the weather is cold here.

Steps I performed to fix the problem: Updated to latest Bios F.12; Reset bios default setting; made all the system from the bios, no found error diagnostics. Today, I run 10 stop test with different conditions, but it has never happened during the tests! Also all the usb ports give power during this gel.

But I don't know, I would have to hold down the power button / stop again in the next two days.

Experts please help me to resolve the issue, its very annoying when I'm in hurry, hurry to stop, lid closed, and next time, when I leave the laptop in the bag, it would always be running / power!

    Sorry for my bad English.

I found the root of the problem. The culprit was Mcafee. After you remove Mcafee, it works well!

  • HP Pavilion g6-1001sq does not recognise the Kingston SSD 300v

    Hello

I recently bought a disc SSD Kingston 300v to replace the default value of HDD on my HP Pavilion g6-1001sq laptop. The SSDS works on SATAIII (3), but the data sheet on the provider's site mentions that it is backward compatible with SATAII specification (2).

However, when you try to boot my system after installing the SSD, I get a message saying that there are no available boot drive. I updated my BIOS to the latest revision (F6.6), but it does not solve the problem.

I saw on the forums of HP support, this is a common problem with other models as well, but I was wondering if this question has found a solution or at least a reasonable explanation (preferably confirmed by HP as well).

I would like to know if the SSD firmware update might help. I'm a skeptic little about it since they already mention that SATAII is taken care of, but I'm willing to try that approach as well, if there is a reasonable explanation for it.

    Hello:

Have you installed an operating system?

If you do not install an operating system on your drive, you will get a no boot device.

  • Catastrophic customer service, Pavilion dv7 laptop STILL not repaired, shuts down randomly

I've had a Pavilion dv7-6c95dx for over 6 months now and 1 week after I bought it, the laptop began to stop randomly. Firstly that it happened sometimes, usually once a week. When this problem occurred, I had to open the Task Manager, as well as SpeedFan and Manager tasks showed that everything worked well minus 50% of their capacity and SpeedFan has indicated that all systems (HARD drive, processor, motherboard) were running at 50 degrees Celsius (when I talked with a representative from HP on the phone, they told me that their products are supposed to operate at the maximum temperature is 90 degrees Celsius). I assumed it was a small issue, and, after a few months, to see if Windows 7 because of the problem, I installed Ubuntu (Linux). The same problem. I then reinstalled Windows 7, Ubuntu and even threw in a copy of Windows 8 for good measure and the same problem kept happening, but now it would be up to 4 TIMES a DAY. It would be closed (meaning that just go to a black screen, with the familiar sound of hard-stop which makes the fan) usually when I'm either: play a video game, who does not use a lot of RAM or CPU at all and is not graphic, or watch a YouTube video, usually HD and full screen. I'd hear the fan starts pumping a little (I knew it could get loud if necessary, but it's never told fort) and usually after a minute or two, he would have hard stop and then restart itself. So after 3 months of daily irritations, I decided to take my laptop to Geek Squad in the best buy, the store where I bought the unit. Geek Squad was no help: I sent the unit in 4 TIMES and first they said that the problem was "A defective HDD," they replaced, without success, and the other 3 times, they could not reproduce the problem, so that was the MONTH wholly wasted and worn out waiting for my computer back. I then asked to call HP, in the store, because when I called HP, I was not able to get a straight answer and HP, after AN HOUR of talking on the phone in the store, with a Geek Squad Manager, has reluctantly agreed to send me a box to pack up my computer and send it to HP service center. I received a call from HP after the computer and surprise, surprise, they could not reproduce the problem either! I asked about a policy of lemon no., and they said they didn't know what to do to that, of course, continue to send the laptop. When I got my laptop, I also got an email from HP asking me to rate my experience, and after I gave them the low ratings consistenly, so only I was able to speak to a case under the name of Kevin E Manager. He told me that I have to send the laptop in for "more extensive testing" (I'm not sure what this means, should not run them not testing the most extensive possible THE FIRST TIME AROUND)?) and when I asked about the policy of lemon no., he said after I send it, they will look at "other options." This time, the heat sink has been replaced, because for some reason, the laptop was running at 90 degrees Celsius, (which never happened in all my time to possess, to the best of my knowledge) but, of course, they were unable to reproduce the original problem. When I got my laptop, there was still the problem. When I called HP back, Kevin told me that at this point, they may send a representative to my home. 15 minutes before the arrival of the local representative, the closed laptop. I was relieved, because I thought it meant that I could reproduce the problem and show him. However, after waiting for an hour, with more applications running that generally required to shut down the computer, he WORKS PERFECTLY. As a matter of fact, the representative took the home unit for 3 days, and it worked perfectly. When she returned, of course, could do nothing about it. This device has been repaired 7 times now, and it is a shame. Kevin called me today ' today - in fact, it was after 1 week of waiting for a response from "24 to 48 hours." Moreover, off the 8 times that Kevin has promised to follow with me, it was only once I received a call during the response time promised 24-48 hours-another 7 times, it's me calling to him.

Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed by the products and the HP customer service and would certainly not bought this device from them if I had known that I have would have been treated this way.
