  The hp pavilion dv6529em was fully functional and load.  Laptop has been moved and the plug of the charger is removed unintentionally.  Laptop was turned off, charger off the power and then reconnected to the laptop.  Now, laptop is recycled during the POST, the last row of lights come on and the fan starts to spin... then after 2 seconds it stops and then tries to start again.  There is no beeps. The screen remains black, bios guests or error messages are not displayed.  No devices are attached.

  Have tried the hard reset.  Also tried recovery by taking two batteries and the relocation of the DDR2 memory.

  The HARD drive has been placed in external and connected data storage on another PC.  The HARD drive is fully functional.  However, it should be noted that the HARD drive is a replacement and not the original HDD supplied with the laptop.

  Restore the BIOS remedy has been tried.  It gives continuous lights on the keyboard and the DVD/CD drive can be opened.  However, updating the BIOS HP screen does not appear and the screen remains black.  The HARD drive has been placed in external data storage and there is no TOOLS HP partitition on the replacement hard drive.

  It is postulated that the BIOS of the laptop can be restored if the partitition of HP TOOLS was put on the HARD drive.  Does anyone know where to get a copy of the partitition TOOLS HP for the HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC dv6529em?

  Hello

  You can use the recovery CD to create two partitions, but before do you these record all the data because the whole HARD disk will be formatted prior to installation. If you want to do this without reinstalling the operating system persistence, use Partition magic software. It is very powerful tool.

  Don t forget to install the boot manager that allows you to choose which operating system you want to use.

  Hello Varadar, it would be best to let Windows 7 create the larger partition, it can during the installation process.

  After the installation of Windows 7, then install your antivirus software and go to the Windows Update site and download and install all the available Windows updates.

  You can then install all your other programs on the C: partition, or wait until you create other partitions and install the other programs on one or more of the other partitions. It is a personal choice. I did both and prefer to have all my programs on the C: partition with the operating system. When you have finished all the Windows 7 installation process, you can repartition the drive C: and add as much as two more primary partitions.

  Depending on the size of your drive hard, these can be as big or too small that you need to be in the ability of your available hard drive capacity.

  To create additional scores, go to the start ORB, Board Setup, administrative tools, computer management, storage, disk management and a Winodw will fill which shows the 100 MB system partition and the (larger) C: partition.

  Highlight the C: partition (larger), click on it and you will open a Menu that has a few options. Select this option to shrink the partition. You can choose how much to shrink the partition. This will reduce the size of the C: partition and leaves you with a partition unallocated. You can select the unallocated partition and select Create a new Volume, format it in NTFS file system, and choose the size of this partition if you want to add another partition.

  You close just out of all windows. Labels on the partitions can be named (labelled) everything you want them to be.

  I hope this isn't too complicated, but it's a little complicated if you have never done this before.

  Press the ESC key to enter the boot menu, Notebook lights stay lit, DVD/CD door opens, but the screen remains blank.  If laptop may have unwittingly entered in the start menu.  Connected external monitor port, but the remote screen has no image to display.

  I found the problem, but it was not referenced in any of the newspapers. There was an instance of Oracle 11 g 64 bit already installed on the machine and 32-bit 12 c has been seen none of that.

  I've renamed the registry HKLM\Software\Oracle key, installed 32-bit 12 c, then changed the name of key return. No problems during installation or post-installation tests.

• Catch 22 tries to install VMware Tools

  I created a Windows 7 VM from a physical PC. I 'play' on a Player 10 Windows via VMware Workstation 12 host, connect to the guest and then click on the "Install tools" button in the player. I see this error message:

  "The virtual machine must have a virtual CD/DVD device to install VMware Tools."

  OK, so I turned off the guest who also ends the player, rerun the player, select the virtual machine and click on "Edit virtual machine settings". On the Hardware tab, I click on the Add button, select "reader of CD/DVD", click Next, select the "use ISO image" radio button (because I guess that's what the error message means by "virtual CD/DVD"), and then click Next, and then I get invited to an ISO image. And that's the Catch 22 - the error message indicates that the player has just need a virtual device, not an ISO, but when I try to add a virtual device, the player wants an ISO.

  How to break this vicious circle and install VMware Tools?

  I thought about it myself the answer to a question on the superuser. Here are the steps:

  1. Stop the virtual machine
  2. Run the drive and select the virtual machine
  3. Click on "Edit virtual machine settings".
  4. Click on "Add..." "in the Hardware tab
  5. Select "CD/DVD Drive", and then click Next
  6. Select the "use ISO image" radio button and click Next
  7. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware drive and double-click windows.iso
  8. Uncheck the box "Connect to light" (probably any) and click on finish
  9. Click OK
  10. Click on "Play virtual machine."
  11. Log on to the virtual computer
  12. Click installation tools
  13. Follow the instructions in the installer

• Cannot install VMware Tools on Windows 10

  Having trouble installing VMware Tools on a Win10 business VM (vSphere 5.5). Installation lance then anything beyond that never reports. Is there something special that needs to be done to make this work?

  When you install the tools, you choose the Interactive installation or the Automated one?

  Try the Interactive installation instead.

  I also have a second comment from Andrew on Firewall/Antivirus possibly block Setup.  Try turning it off.  In addition, you may have to disable UAC.

  The required password is for the host.

  A workaround of functions is "sudo su -" of ubuntu host, then start vmplayer from the root prompt.  You must browse the virtual machine since the user doesn't have a history of openness yet... but then there is no prompt asking for a password when you try to download the tools.
