    1. the older system with Win7 should not go Win10 that HP provides no support any drivers for it unless it was made in 2013.

    2. your specific HP PS comment is false with no facts to backup. We should refrain from making these comments - does nothing to help other users.

  • Pavilion DV7-2185DX: SSD install on a HP Pavilion DV7-2185dx

I want to know what issues and hardware do I need to install an SSD 480 GB drive in my laptop as main drive?  Please consider the SATA and power consumption when you reply.

    Thank you!!!

Already considered. The type SATA or power is a matter of concern. Just remove the existing mechanical drive and install the SSD. The worst thing you can do is overthink. The SSD model I would stay far from East MX100 Crucial... I prefer the Samsung 850 Evo, but you can't go wrong with all major brands.

The BIOS is set to fully support the ahci and SSD use less energy. Your laptop's SATA-II but a SSD SATA-III will downclock and fine workmanship.

A second hard drive to your laptop can support if you only now, you can put your mechanical drive in the second Bay. Newmodeus.com sells the hard drive after the caddy/connector kits. Just be sure and get the right for the dv7-2000 series; They vary a little. The second hard drive kit makes cloning really easy too... everything is possible inside the laptop.

  • Fan does not work properly (HP Pavilion dv7-2185dx)

Hey there, I have a problem with my laptop fan. The fan running at a normal speed and when the laptop gets hot it is not accelerating, it continues to operate at the same speed. Usually, when the laptop was hot, I could hear the fan, but now I can't. I cleaned all the dust on my computer, it did not work. Then I updated the BIOS and it didn't work either. Now I think about replacing the fan, but it still works, it just doesn't speed up when the laptop gets hot. While playing, carrots reach a temperature of 70-75. What should I do? I tried not to replace the heat can composed, to be the problem?

Yes, I was there. OK I'll try to do, and then come back to tell you if it worked. How can another question, I clean the heart of processor and the bottom of the radiator? I know it may be a simple question, but I want to have all the necessary precautions to do a good job. I don't want to spoil.

I gave a lot of intense use to this laptop because I bought it like 2 years ago which means I need to replace the thermal paste like every 1.5 years? or what is the recommendation for her?

This isn't actually the problem driver, unfortunately, all I can suggest to make updates or reinstall the drivers of your major

    Chipset

    Graphics (video)

    Sound

Network (wired and wireless network adapters)

Since it is an Intel based motherboard I would go to the site Intel and running the utility autopilot check, see if it finds newer drivers, then download and install them. Make a note of what it is and what you install Intel.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 - 3188cl: HP Pavilion does not connect to Internet (resolved)

I recently got a HP Pavillion Entertainment, model number dv7 - 3188cl, for me to use for a class at the school by my uncle. Before the recovery, everything worked perfectly well. My uncle asked me to reset the computer, so we used the recovery disks that wiped the hard drive successfully but then refuses to reinstall the operating system. Instead of getting another set of recovery disks that I've used a Windows 7 install disc to reinstall the OS and he did so successfully with one flaw, the laptop does not connect to the internet.

I tried to connect via ethernet and it does not find my WiFi network. I suspect his lack a driver and checked for drivers on the HP site but he said that there is none. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and if there is no driver for this I would be grateful if you could tell me where to download from.

  • Pavilion DV7-6195us: reliable wireless connection

It is of a Pavilion DV7-6195us. It connects wireless to a provided Comcast router/gateway. My connection drops randomly, and my solution was to click on the bottom wireless icon to the right of the taskbar, disconnect my network, wait 5 seconds and reconnect. It is successful in 90% of cases.

I looked in Device Manager > network adapters and see: Intel Centrino Wireless n 1000 #2, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapt #3 and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

This laptop was bought second-hand from a guy who did the free update for Windows 10 without doing all the preparation work. I restarted it in Win 7, 64 bit. The laptop is starting in 2012 and I did the best I could to update the latest drivers, but trying to install the latest WiFi driver gave me the message that says that the driver installed is newer than the one I tried to install. The current version of the driver is 15.11.0.7 as of 1/26/2014(Intel Centrino). I don't know why it is a #2, and I do not know whence the Microsoft Virtual Miniport #2 and #3. Their versions of the drivers are identical and are dated from 2006.

I wonder if they interfere with the Intel N 1000? Should I uninstall them? Is there a driver later for the Centrino N 1000 found somewhere other than to HP support site?

My goal here is to stabilize my connection to my wireless router.

My wife's cell phone is a Dell Inspiron which is located not far from where my laptop is, about the same distance from the router, and she has no problem connecting.

    Thank you.

  • Pavilion dv7-2270us: dv7-2270US extensible

After graduation from high school, my father gave me his laptop to study. It's a HP Pavilion dv7-2270us.

The system always works smoothly after years with HP quality . And I really want to keep.

Unfortunately, there is not enough RAM, CPU speed, memory display and storage for my work. I have to deal with some heavy software like Solidworks, Cartia, Matlab, etc... So, I want to upgrade to deal with current technology: SSD, Ram, etc.

Could you suggest what I can do to increase the speed of it. Should what type of SSD that suit I buy? What type of processor that the BIOS can be supported?

Last but not least, I live in Ho Chi Minh in the Viet Nam. Can I speak to the support agency for HP here to upgrade or contact the third company?

I can't wait to get the response from the forum.

    Thanks for reading my question!

    Hello

Looked like your dad bought a machine of Maurice tay. It is an old machine, very old indeed. The following link shows its specs

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=c01887272

All you can do is to upgrade

    1. RAM: 4 GB to 8 GB, check your local stores to buy RAM right and ask them to install for you.

2 HARD drive: there a fast HDD but if you wish you can exchange to SSD.

If this is so of course, you can contact HP Viet Nam or some other department stores (I don't remember their names) can help you.

Congratulations and good luck for the next steps of your life.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 button walk / stop does not

Hi, I recently had my Hp Pavilion dv7-1245dx Entertainment Notebook (to the best of my knowledge bc, I can't look it up in my product number) fixed some viruses and malware that caused random stops and freezes. My laptop worked fine after that the fix so I installed the latest updates to better protect my laptop but when I left and my laptop came into fashion 'sleep' it would not respond and the screen was black. I stopped using the power button and it turned back. The computer does not start and the flash caps lock button three times which means a problem of memory, according to HP support, that happened before I got my laptop fixed. Later, I unplugged the AC adapter and moved my laptop but when I tried to put it on the power button does not respond and I can't do anything with my laptop. Both recommended options for the issue of cap locks and the power button is to go inside my laptop and tinkering with the battery and the memory module. I'm very hesitant to do so for fear of further harm to my laptop. I am on Windows 7 and advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated. (will give you more information if necessary)

    With respect,

    ACertainGuy

Your notebokdoes have removable covers for the module of memory in the bottom of the laptop. It's just as shown in the document I linked.

You will need to buy a Jewelers screwdriver set.  A jewellers Phillips scredriver is necessary.

Here is a link to a documentthat explains the flashing LED error codes and what they mean.

The only other option, if you do not have enough confidence to do it yourself, is to take your laptop in a shop that will do it for you.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx: windows 7 resettled after upgrading Windows 10

    Hello

I bought my computer in 2011 at Bestbuy. In this computer factory settings had various applications, HP, HP Recovery manager, etc.

Recently, last week my computer was attacked by malware and therefore, I had to restore my computer by using the recovery HP (Rebecca.exe) Manager. Meanwhile, windows offered to updgrade to 10 Windows. My computer is compatible, and that's why I decided to upgrade. Unfortunately, Windows 10 did not work too well with my computer, and so I contacted Windows Support team. They have reinstalled Windows 10 in my machine and remove the function back to Windows 7.

Support of Windows 10 team could not solve the problems in my computer. I then asked to downgrade to windows 7. With their downgrading to Windows 7, I had to get all the drivers to make my computer function again. However, I do not have original HP and Applications settings my computer had when I first bought the computer.

Is it possible to install all the parameters of HP and Apps? I tried to install HP Recovery Manager, however, when I do, it says "Softpaq does not apply to the system, no installed HP Manager."

Help, please! My computer is running slowly. What should I do?

    ramirez_adolfo

The best way to make your PC work again in Win7 is to do a factory restore using the HP recovery media.

It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

It's the HP for your PC product page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6100-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5082216/model/5118973

Down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entry and click on order to press for more details.

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

    Good luck

  • Impossible to add an external monitor or adjust the brightness of the screen: Pavilion dv7-4031TX (Windows 7)

    Hello

I recently replaced both hard drives of HDD2K12, which meant I had to re-enstall Windows 7. Since that time, I have no options more in using an external monitor or even the brightness of the screen. The computer does not recognize the monitor when I Plug and all my drivers are up to date.

Can you make suggestions that could help to solve these two problems?

    Kind regards

    Peter

Thanks to find the links but I could not find the drivers I need for a Pavilion dv7-4031TX.

However I finally managed to fix the problem. Let me summarize what has been my problem.

    (1) I could not adjust the brightness of the screen by using the function keys f2 and f3.

    (2) I couldn't find the brightness slider if it was generally... i.e. (control Panel\Hardware and Options of Sound\Power)

    (3) my laptop would not recognize an external monitor.

    How I solved the problem:

    1 > pass.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-95107-1 & CC = in the & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 4063 & Product = 4253423 & sw_lang =

and go to the graphics driver and download the graphics driver and follow the directions. At the end of the installation you will be asked to restart the computer.

0nce you have restarted your computer, you should be able to adjust the brightness of the screen using the fn keys or the brightness slider in the window 'power Option '.

    2 > Activting 2nd monitor

Click on Device Manager... At start-> right click on 'Computer' and click 'properties '. Click on "Device Manager". Now click on "monitors".

Now connect the exernal monitor to your laptop while watching where the monitor icon appears under "monitors". It should appear as 'Generic PNP monitor'.

Now, right-click on it and select "update driver software... "then search automatically for updated drivers. Install the new drivers. You should see the generic 'PNP monitor' name change to another name.

3 > restart your computer. You should find that after doing all this, you should be back to normal.

  • Pavilion DV7-1451nr: Wireless button stays amber

My pavilion dv7-1451nr turns wireless keyboard blue when I have to reset the motherboard by removing the battery and press the power button / stop seconds, after which I plug in charger to him while leaving the battery and press the power button / stop. After that, I would like to press f10 to enter the bios setup, then I would like to load the defaults, save and exit.

After doing all that I have explained above, the wireless button becomes blue and wireless assistant would be activated and indicates that the wireless is turned on. If I check in the Device Manager, I see the hardware details and driver wireless populated it and everything should work fine, but once I restart the computer, the wireless button would refuse to start. There is orange. If I try to check the State of the material status and driver WLAN on Device Manager, they would be is more filled it more and wireless assistant will refuse to start. If by chance he started, this would indicate that the wireless is turned off by the Device Manager.

I had tried uninstalling the wireless LAN driver and reinstalled just in case the problem came from the software side but not solution. Just this afternoon, I have decoupled from the computer and removed the card WLAN, dusted it and replace it back, but the problem persists.

The type of wireless network card is Atheros AR5007 802.11 b/g WiFi adapter. I noticed something this afternoon, however, after having checked the service manual for the computer, I realized that there is specific types of the wireless card compatible for specific regions. For example, the number of appropriate wlan spare parts which must be on my computer is 582564-002 and have this with references with the number of spare part of wlan on the wireless card available on my computer that begins with sps 452..., I realized something was wrong. I'll leave that to stop you guys from HP, but I really need a solution to this problem very fast because it's really annoying me. Thank you.

    Hello @LL_Cool_J,

    Thanks for the information!

I don't know what you mean, when he asked if the model is 50xx or 40xx. Confirming the WLAN Module is a little difficult, because there are several manuals maintenance for this model.  I was able to refine the selection a bit, by comparing the numbers of spare part for hard drives.  Based on this REPAIR, the WLAN Modules you have listed, 582564-002, 593836-001, must be compatible.  However, I don't see the Atheros as option in this manual.  To be on the safe side, you can contact our telephone support HP.  Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a folder for your question and contact HP. I never really used the laptop for viewing of DVDs so far and observe through the HP Media Smart DVD player it says that my area is 6.

There is no problem watching the current dvd I have 3 remaining changes before it is locked.

As all my dvd's 4 region that will soon become a problem so my question is - how to change the region setting in order to take account where I live to avoid this?

A single argument: we cannot copy/rip of a normal DVD player. Anyway, back to your case, unless you can hack the drive on your laptop, you must make sure that the last test should be region 4 otherwise, when the machine from locking in the region whatever (not 4), you will not be able to play the DVD in region 4.
