• Pavilion DV7: Looking for laptop with 2 HDD bays

  I'm looking to replace my Pavilion dv7 with a new laptop computer.
  
  Can someone tell me what current models have 2 bays for hard drives, because it is what I currently have.
  I don't want to replace the optical drive.

  With drives of 2 TB laptop available now I would go for a model with a 256 or 512 GB ssd as boot drive m2, then a mechanical drive of 2 TB for storage. Hard for me to imagine that much storage insufficient.

  Problem solved. for someone else who has the problem, as soon as you install the MS UAA, it allows to detect certain hardware. Instead of having it go online to find the drivers, tell it to search in a specific directory on your computer. Even if you have the window "select a directory" open, run the sp45044 driver. The installation program will fail, but it puts the driver on your computer. return to the window "select a directory" and have it searching for C:\SWSetup\SP45044\WDM\WinXP. It now allows to install your drivers and audio will start to work immediately!

  So you have a backup of your personal data, I wouldn't worry about retaining the existing partitions and just convert the reader into a guid partition table - recovery won't work anyway after a clean install, system will be replaced by efi and HP_TOOLS can only be downloaded again.

  If the existing HARD disk has a mbr partition style, you can convert this to a table of partition guid (gpt) as follows.

  Open an command prompt- Option 1

  Enter the following information, hit return after each entry.

  DiskPart

  list disk

  Assuming that there is only 1 HDD installed then enter

  Select disk 0

  clean

  convert a GPT

  When did the type exit and press to enter.

  Re-run the installation of Windows 10.

I sent in February to get a good cleaning and chekout in the same office, I am using since I bought it because we told hp approved certified and guaranteed mobile phones to send too. In any case... Says that my hard drive was damage to 80% then I did change for a new and I have a lot of opinions of improvements such as the excellent video work and it runs faster so averall I was happy until he his suddenly stopped!   As you can probably tell from the image, below, I accidentally ripped out all the pads of twelve 12 pins on the motherboard for FFC connector JP36 (pictured below), so I have to fill each of the connections with wire 30AWG pin connector FFC (JP36). That said, I have been unable to trace the pin #10 connector FFC to any component on the motherboard, so my last question is the following:

  QUESTION #2: Regarding the twelve 12-pin FFC connector as shown in the image below (component no. PCB: JP36), which component pin #10 connects to the motherboard?
