HP Pavilion DV7: Clean install

Insert windows 8.1 pro disc on CD Rom, went into the Bios changed to cd and restarted boot option.

Installation comes screen clicked on install and was suspended for centuries.

Any ideas anyone please

You said in one of your previous posts that you have run the test diagnosis and everything going on, now you ran again and you get an error of memory.  Indeed, the error message indicates the checksum failed probably because of defective memory chips.  Reinstall the chips and see if the problem persists.

Run the tests again:

  1. Turn off the computer and connect the power adapter.

  • Windows 7 on Pavilion a6500f - Clean install freezes

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 7 Professional on the Pavilion a6500f.

I want to install on a newly formatted drive partition.

Everything goes well until the end, when the installer says it finishes the installation.

Then the computer hangs / crashes.  No movement on the screen, no response from the mouse, etc.

I guess this is a problem with the video or audio driver, etc, but don't know how.

NVIDIA has WIN 7 drivers on their site, but how would I integrate/slipstream them in the installation?

I just wanted to add: it's the 64 bit version of WINDOWS 7 Pro, final version paid version.

I noticed that someone else had exact same machine and problem installing using the RC version in June 2009 with no resolution.

Well, the installation problem is solved, but it was a struggle.

What I did to disable integrated video in F10 Setup and set it to PCI.

Then I installed an OLD (c 1999) Creative PCI video card that I found in the basement in the PCI slot.

Windows 7 installation is complete and then I did install all MS Windows updates, including the 2 or 3 elements of pilot which was to monitor Samsung.

Then removed the PCI card and put configuration CMOS integrated onboard graphics subsystem.

So far so good, everything is clean in the Device Manager, and the dual boot with XP SP3 works.

None of this problem stated in the MS. compatibility tool

Maybe if I had done the upgrade instead of custom there was no video problem (drivers?).

We'll see what happens as more software is installed.

    Thanks for the tips.

  • HP pavilion DV7-6c10so: cannot install HP Quick Launch on HP Pavilion DV7-6c10so

I am really pulling my hair out on this one. Recently I swapped my brothers HARD drive into his laptop, and with that we decided to do a clean installation of windows. Evrything went smooth and well with the excavation and activate Windows. But I ran to a problem with the installation of some software and drivers HP. All drivers except 2 would install properly. Once, it was a hassel to install were the drivers Bluetooth and wi - fi. That's what happened when I tried to launch the exe to install:

A window opens saying some information on im about to install software. I press next here.

in the next step, I accept the EULA and press Next.

Then begins the extraction process and once it has been done the window close.

After this a windows installer window appears saying: preparing for installation...

This was followed by: Please wait while Windows install configures the installation...

During this stage, the progress bar fills upp to 100% and the window closes, and that's all. No message telling me the installation was a success or a failure. no error code or message. If I check the Device Manager I can be that the driver is not installed. I solved this problem by right-clicking on the device and then choose install driver and then find the extracted folder and choose the driver in there.

But here's the tricky part and my problem, I need the software of quick launch buttons asswell but Installer is broken here as well. but since this isn't a driver I can't operate by itself.

I let the Installer do its thing and all that with the drivers just sort of stops. No messagege not nothing. The program does not appear in the Control Panel, the task bar or in active processes (yes I restarted the computer). However I find it under Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel, so the computer thinks its installed. the same for HP software executives, but it is not as important.

If I go to the extracted installation location I get a lage Setup window that says welcome to the quick launch HP Setup Wizard. Here, I choose to remove it ocr fix/repair it. I tried manny time to fix but I doesent help. I uninstalled and then installed using this installer manny thus times. Nothing helps. but atleasst with this installer, I get a quick launch of HP has been successfully installed message, yet it doesent work.

    what I tried:

I installed each updates windows and .net.

I tried to install an older version (for software farmeworks and quick launch).

I reformatted and reinstalled the computer once again to see if the problem was caused by windows.

go to the installation folder and run there (only for software frameworks).

    News of the computer:

    model: HP Pavilion DV7-6c10so

Shipping os OS: Windows 7 Home premium x 64

After reformatting operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium x 64

I'm in the desperaste need to get this working because it's my brothers computer and it needs today to come back later and I said wrong I work just like before.

Sorry for the bad English everybody!

    Hello

In this case, it may be worth trying the following.

Uninstall the current version QLB and restart.

Download the version from the following link and save the installation program.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56929.exe

Use software such as 7-Zip manually extract the contents of the Setup program, and then run the setup.exe routine (20 KB) as an administrator since the extraction folder.

This can or can not give an indication that it completed - if not, leave it for 5 minutes, then restart.

If it still does not work, check if the routines are present in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP quick launch area and let me know - I'm going to work but to hope to be back within the hour.

  • HP Pavilion DM1: Pavilion DM1 * clean * Win7 install... no COA sticker?

My wife has an HP Pavilion DM1 is a slug running and I want to do a clean install of Win7 without all the bloatware that is come upon her, but realized that this little book is not a Microsoft COA top sticker to do the reinstall.  HP did ship of this machine without an activation code Win7 on it?  If Yes, is there a way I can get the code to make a * clean * install or should I just use the system recovery disk to go back to the factory?  I have a few old machines COA stickers, but did not burn one if I had to.  Any help/info is appreciated.

    You are the very welcome.

The recovery disks should be pre-activated and there should be no need to enter a product key.

But you will need to uninstall the bloatware that will be reinstalled, unless your recovery disks for a reduced recovery.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx - do not pick up the Samsung 840 Evo SSD for clean installation

    Hello

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx

I bought a new Samsung 840 Evo 500 GB SSD and going on to replace the main HARD drive. Tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate on it using the USB bootable Win 7, it loads the installation and starts ok and then he asks to load the driver for any device and gives you an analysis of the option to see if there is any storage device to select for installation. It clearly shows that it does not pick up the SSD.

Unfortunately the bios insydeh20 V3.5 has no possibility of even check if it is detected or so.

What do you think is the problem? The BIOS update would solve this issue? or is there any other work around that.

    Thank you

    Mike

Before I went ahead with the method you suggested, I tried updating the Bios with the latest version and voila... system picked up the SSD and all is well now.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion G6-1d21dx: necessary drivers after Windows 10 clean install on g6 (g6-1d21dx Pavilion) Pavilion

I tried the HP support site, but I don't see any drivers for any available OS for my model, the g6-1d21dx Pavilion.

I did a clean install of Windows 10, but the Wi - Fi button does not work. Apparently, there's a pilot called HP wireless button that I need to install. When I do a Google search for it, there is a link to HP's download page, but the link seems to be dead.

HP allows us to download drivers more? It's frustrating, because drivers must be simple and easy.

Can someone please tell me where I can get this and all the other drivers that I might need after doing a clean install of Windows 10?

    Thank you.

Well, I think I solved the problem. The first time I did a new install of Windows 10, didn't have an Ethernet cable connected to the computer. This leads to all sorts of problems, including a lack of access to the Internet and some devices are not installed correctly. I reformatted the SSD drive and cloned my old hard drive, but that resulted in a very slow performance, then I would get errors every other time I start the computer (inaccessible_boot_device, unexpected_store_exception and kernel_data_input_error). In addition, the hard drive that I cloned has been running the 64 bit version of Windows 10, and I wanted to try the 32-bit version, because I want to use some software of old who will not run on 64-bit Windows 10 (for example, the Spanish dictionary Oxford SuperLex 3-in-1, French and German).

Last night, I did another installation of the 32-bit version, but with a network attached cable. This time, after installation and update of Windows, all my devices appear to be installed and working properly. This includes the Synaptics touchpad, the HP wireless button, the AMD Radeon graphics card and the Realtek card reader. I didn't need to install whatever it is myself, and the Device Manager does not display the unknown devices. In addition, installation completed MUCH more quickly with the connected network cable.

Conclusion: If you clean - install Windows 10, I highly recommend that you do so with a network cable attached so that you will have access to the Internet when it is necessary during installation. With fixed cable, both my wired network and my Wi - Fi network have been detected during installation. Wireless network connected, even my Wi - Fi was not available during the installation.

  • HP pavilion dv 6-2070eo: unknown unit in the device after the clean install Manager

My product: HP Pavilion DV 6-2070eo

    Product number: VJ346EA #UUW

    Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit

    Hi HP experts...

I just did a clean install of windows and installed all the drivers - installed Microsoft security essentials - windows update updates entirely, but in Device Manager it is a unknown unit with a yellow icon. When I double click on the unknown unit, it says location on bridge isa standard pci and beneith which - drivers for this device are not installed (code 28). What kind of driver I'm missing? Now, I wanted to check for other drivers, but I couldn't find any other drivers because the driver download page are not available at the moment on the site of HP

    Best regards hpenvy1

    Hello:

    Yes, that's what I needed.

You need the driver for this device...

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=ob_79533_2

You don't need to worry about the EEG W10 icon.

You can download W10 directly from Microsoft.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

Download the 64-bit installation program and do the immediate upgrade option.

Then you can go back and make the W10 DVD or USB flash drive.

I'm not very confident that your laptop can run W10.

Most likely, audio, graphics and without wire do not work and there is no drivers to make them work.

But you can give it a shot and see what happens.

  • 2nd hard drive install on pavilion dv7-3060us 17.3 inches with Quad core processor

Pavilion dv7-3060us computer has a 2nd hard drive Bay.  On 2 flags of 17.3 inches previous, I installed a 2nd HDD.  This quad core Pavilion is much thinner than the previous pavilions;  the underside of the computer has also a centre piece in the form of "T" in the Panel without screw - is a pop on the access panel or the entire bottom panel needs to be removed through the perimeter screws?  Still trying to find a manual showing this particular case - no luck so far.  The downloaded HP

Manual for the previous dv-7 is for the case of style like unless I missed something.

Install an SSD soon - would like to have all the "stuff" to install a 2nd drive hard if possible.  Anything I should be aware of before perform this procedure?  Don't really want to remove all the merits of the case.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

I appreciate the help.  The Caddy is the same that I used before (on the 1st dv7) the 2nd dv7 used the direct taking of 90 degrees into the adapter.  I have both of these me more allotted a 500 GB HD.  All I need pickup is the SSD.

The "T" sign on the back of my case has no screws - but I can see the 3 component tabs snap at the top of the "T" through the small crack on the case.  These are shown on the exploded view of repair.  I'm projecting from the 'snap-out' Panel down on the vertical leg of the "T".

    Once again; Thank you

  • Install Windows 7 on formatted Pavilion dv7-7052sw

    Hello world

A week ago, I bought the HP Pavilion dv7-7052sw.

It came with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.

I wanted to customize for my personal needs, change partitions etc...

    So I formatted it.

I looked at the new installation of Windows 7 64 bit BOX.

Everything goes well until the final step, installation restarts and fails on "Finish Installation" screen because

system is unable to start services on my computer and I have to restart the instalation.

    I tried 3 times.

    I did not create a backup/restore disc.

What is the problem? It's my first HP laptop and I don't expect problems like that.

Installation disc that I use works fine on my old laptop.

Need help please, I don't know what to do now...

Please see 'Windows Setup cannot configure Windows on hardware on this computer' Setup on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 computer error for a possible cause of your problem.

Installation from a Windows 7 SP1 disc or a USB flash drive should fix this for you. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n203ex: 10 a Windows Activation failed after clean install

To say things in a concise way, I bought a HP Pavilion Notebook with Windows 8.1 15-n203ex 64 bit pre installed.  On July 30, 2015, I upgraded my windows 8.1 to windows 10 which was provided as a free Microsoft Update and everything went fine except for a problem of display that has been fixed after installing the latest Nvidia drivers.

Now, after about 30 days, I thought to do a clean install to my laptop with windows 10 and so downloaded ISO appropriate and my installation. After the installation of the new operating system, it is not Activated at all no matter what I do, I get an error to enter the CD key.

Before you do a clean install of windows 10, using scripts from the internet, I received the Windows key from the registry that is unfortunately not be accepted by windows 10 now.

Microsoft has informed if an upgrade is done Windows 8.1 for windows 10 there is no need to have a key during installation should be the key automatically from the Bios, correct me if I'm wrong.

Please, help me to overcome this particular problem I am facing.

Even after 20 days Activation took place so I decided to do a brief study of the issue and find me a solution.

I solved the problem by downloading the 8.1 Windows 64 bit iso from Microsoft's Web site and installed. During installation, surprisingly the Installer did not ask the product key. Everything went very well and immediately after the update of the firt he invited upgrade me to Windows 10 I did happily.

There are several applications available on the internet that provides you with the windows product key 8 or 8.1 from the Bios. Neosmart found to be the most simple and free to use without any malware.

Now, my laptop is running 64-bit Windows 10 and fully active and up to date.

Hope that this could be useful for someone like me.
