HP Pavilion DV7 no get out of standby or hibernation

HP Pavilion DV7-1264NR

Windows Vista operating system

Hello

Recently, my teenage son closed the lid on my DV7 without turn off (which I never did).   I don't know if it made the beginning > sleep or start > hibernation (I never use these, but I suspect that he selected one of them instead of the stop downwards).  Since then, he has not booted up back or returned to the active mode.  When I try, the screen is black and looks like she's trying to start, but the screen remains black with lots of keyboard lights up and sounds like its tyring to initialize.

I replaced the battery with a brand new (it was not fully charging before that and had to be replaced, and I read in another thread where a new battery solved this type of problem, so I advanced and bought a new). I removed the battery and the power cord and tried to start, but the same results.  I have also pressed the power button for a minute with battery and cord removed, taken on the hard drive and put it in.  without her I start the system cannot do a lot of troubleshooting, i.e. change settings, etc.   Many suggestions out there, but none has not solved my problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Update on what I've solved.  My laptop was not stuck extended sleep/standby mode.  I ended up taking my laptop HP of a local PC repair shop.  They said that the motherboard had been damaged without repair possible by the graphics card, which gives a huge heat and may damage some of the (apparently cheap manufactured) weld on the ATI card. Estimate to replace the Board of Directors: ~ $ 400!

Knowing what the problem was I then contacted a local "pc repair guy" (found on Craigslist in Seattle, WA: laptop repair a. + even if this guy works out of home I would be very recommend to anyone that has problems of this kind with HPs).   He was able to describe my problem to a T and re - solder my connections of the system that had been melted by the heat, and it strengthened the welding (with pure soldering lead), so this does not happen.  the laptop then started upward as if nothing had ever happened. Price: $75 will understand...

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your query details.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

    Hello

10 Windows Update crashes after 87%, so I have to turn off the laptop and the system becomes always restored to Windows 7.

Is there someone who has improved the Pavilion DV7-4150 to 10 Windows? How?

I installed all the updates with the HP Support Assistant HP and all Windows 7 updates I can get. I have the most recent BIOS F.29, but also the BIOS F.12 F.13 and F.23 do not work with Windows 10.

In my view, the problem is the old BIOS HP. Is it a BIOS compatible for HP Pavilion DV7-4150 get worked with Windows 10?

Please HP, is a big job for you, please deliver us a new BIOS for Windows 10 job!

Thank you, always HP - Fan.

Sorry, but HP has shown no sign that it grows some BIOS updates for older machines.  I have a HP DV6 and the update in 2011.

I came across similar problems with my HP DV6 - it would always block partially through the update, and then I do a factory reset to get it working again.

What DOES not work for me has been an own-made from a USB key, created installation using the latest version of Win10 obtained by using the tool of creation of MS Media: 10 Windows Installer by using the tool of creation of media - Windows help

My PC to 'wake up' sleep/hibernate, the cursor initially moving across the screen from left to right, in which window is open, destroy all the document is on the screen. I force Windows to close. How to solve this other than turning off standby/hibernation?

Looks like the cursor of the mouse is very sensitive when the computer comes out of standby or hibernation.
I suggest that you go in the mouse properties and lower the sensitivity and see if that helps.
You also need to update any driver mouse if possible.

Since it is an Intel based motherboard I would go to the site Intel and running the utility autopilot check, see if it finds newer drivers, then download and install them. Make a note of what it is and what you install Intel.

I have a Pavilion dv7 - 3063cl and anway there a 601 error. I replaced the internal battery (CMOS) and I thought everything would be fine, but at the start, I get the error 601. I looked around HP.com and other sites trying to figure out how to solve this problem, and he has been without success. When I plug in the AC adapter it will only be "plugged in, not not load." It was a difficult mess and it couldn't have come at a worse time, because I am a student with exams at the corner. One who reads my message and knows or has any suggestions is appreciated by speed. If you need more information, I will provide. Thank you.

On a side note, I did download and install the latest BIOS but I don't know if I need to do something more in this regard. I'm tech-savvy than the average, but I might have forgotten some minor details. Again, thank you.

  • Laptop HP Pavilion DV7 not really hot...

    Product information:

    Name: HP Pavilion DV7-6193

    OS: Windows 8

Changes to the system: Updated, recently reinstalled Windows 8 video card drivers

    Hello

Lately, my laptop has been get very hot and the fan is really loud, even if I do things as little as surfing the internet, for the moment, I closed all the non-essential programs in the Task Manager I do not use, and turns at 70 degrees (Celsius) sometimes still warmer upwards to 80 degrees (Celsius) while watching videos on Netflix. When used for games, it goes up to 90 degrees. This has happened for a while now, before even to update my video card driver, so I eliminated that as a possible reason. I tried to put it on the mode or balanced in energy saving mode, but not much changes if anything. I disabled switchable graphics problems with no switch cards AMD I have inside (uses Intel on switchable) so I took off switchable graphics for game reasons. I have a cooler laptop that I use, but just worried, why it is not so hot for not heavy use any. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

As your laptop HP Pavilion dv7-6193 Entertainment is two to three years old, you want to maybe blow out the vents with a can of air compressed. When the dirt is trapped in the vents, it reduces the efficiency of the cooling system. This can cause the fan to the race as it tries to cool the CPU. Finally the system is overheated and shut down to protect themselves.

  • Wireless computer network laptop dv7 sometimes stuck out

    Hello.

So, for a while, I had this problem with my laptop; sometimes without any reason my wireless 'goes out' and my laptop gets all the lag (trolling, mouse sound as well). In fact, the WiFi network is not extinguished, but only the blue light on my laptop turns red. Wlan exchange button the following message (on/wlan Wlan off) but no connection is established and it remains red, stuck like that.

For a long time, I found the only way to solve this problem, to restart the computer. However, sometimes, it did not help until after two resets. Some time ago my brother was using my laptop and as the same problem has happened, he goes to the web settings and Control Panel, a list of all possible connections. Here as an administrator he removed using WiFi connection and then begins again, which fixed the problem. The connection has been made again, and the LAG was gone.

Now, just before this announcement I had the problem once again and found a way of my brother to fix. Since that part, the problem is resolved, but I would like to know what causes this and how can I get rid of him? It's really frustrating when internet turns off randomly and I have a huge lag, so in the middle of something important. I never found anything like this online, searching around with Mr. Google and eventually sign up here to ask.

    Thank you in advance.

    Some information on the laptop:

HP Pavilion DV7 VT362EA #UUW (no idea if that's the correct number ^^)

    Windows 7

    TL; DR

Sometimes the wlan light turns red if the WiFi network has not yet been decided. Loss of connection and get a huge lag. Only difficulty is to reboot or remove wlan to use as an administrator.

Ok. No, it looks like you did it correctly. I have a few other things for you to try so.

1 to update the software Quick Lauch buttons. Restart and test the question. If you still get the same symptom, go to step 2.

    2. reinstall the wireless cardHere is the manual. Wireless (WLAN) card withdrawal begins on page 4-17. Make sure that the antenna wireless caps are broken pointing down when you put it back in. If you still get the same symptom, go to step 3.

    3. reset TCP/IP. Here is a link to the steps. It says XP at the top, but it's just a special note for XP users. Scroll up to the gray heading "I solve the problem" and then in the second below, subsection you will see the steps for Vista /7. Be sure to run as administrator command prompt.
