• Pavilion dv5: missing drivers comm network and pci

  I reinstalled win 7 (only had recovery image) and miss me a number of drivers.  I have corrected some of the problems, but hit a wall with a few.  Wireless is one of the problems, I have no way to run the utilities in the damaged computer line.   I need the following drivers for the hardware id values:

  Try the following.

  Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

  In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

  In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

  When the reinstallation of Chipset has completed, restart the laptop.

  When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.

Looks like the whole bottom is 1 piece. Not sure how he defeated hard disk access. You remove the screws of the hinge end monitor? When I removed all the screws from the bottom, the bottom base was still on tight at the top of the laptop. So not sure how it is apartment. Other features include a dvd player. Don't want no ro break my new laptop. I took cases for laptops out there before, but this one is a little trickier. Any info is appreciated.

  Be aware that it won't give you all the features that was present in the newer operating system drivers.

  If so, I will not be able to help you with the usb mass storage device.  It is an external hard drive and is not a component in your PC.

  Try to uninstall and reinstall the device driver when you see the error.

  I recently bought this new laptop and have problems with it sometimes does not start windows.

  I see on the HP website there is an update of the BIOS for this machine which apparently addresses the problem that I am experiencing, but I'm confused because my current BIOS Version is not displayed in the list of previous versions of the software in the BIOS and when I run the softtware Assistant support installed on the machine there is no mention of an update of the BIOS.

  Either way, I did all the recommended software updates by using the help Wizard, but when I look at available updates on the Web Site for my machine there are numerous others proposed.  In addition, some updates are repeated as Rev A and Rev B, and I don't know what that means.  In addition, because there are updates for the other elements of software for different brands of hardware, I expected only these updates appear in the Support Assistant that relate to my particular machine.

  I would like any advice or comments on this situation before proceeding further.

  There seems to be a problem with the update of the BIOS by the HP Support Assistant.  For now, you can download the BIOS directly from the HP site.  You can find the drivers for your product here: HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab271sa (ENERGY STAR)

  Once you update the BIOS and reboot the laptop, let me know if the problem is resolved.
