HP Pavilion g Series notebook PC, Windows 7, boot faokure

Then I started to notice problems this morning. The computer took a little more normal to initialize, then whem it finally shows the office, everything is horribly slow. Internet took 5 minutes to acquire, default programs appeared unresponsive and even had one of those "windows does not. You can choose to leave the program, or wait for a response"messages. Thinking it was probably a virus, I ran Avast! Antivirus protection. Who went to half an hour. Got up to 17% complete, then dropped to 9%, while, also, became unresponisve. So I think that he could have an overheating problem. Being in Las Vegas without any pry a/c is not good for any machine. So I start to remove the screws, jump off a few patches, then figure that I will never get fans or inside the vents without completely destroying the computer, so I got everything the way I found them and tried to start the machine back.

The result is less satisfactory. The computer loads up, crosses the "press the ESC key for startup menu", then instantly switches to a screen saying "Windows is loading files...". "The bar underneath it fills, indicating that loading the files over, but nothing happens. So I restarted and I tried pressing CTRL, ALT, DELETE set, which seemed to reboot the computer, leading to another captivating display of "Windows is loading files...". ». Feel like I've been there before, I pressed CTRL, ALT, DELETE it again and somehow find a screen test, with test at startup, run-in test, system development, as well as other selections options. I go through some of the tests, and for all three, the computer passes the test of memory and the SMART test, but omits the short DST. The ID of failure for the three tests were the same, M0EDXX-5QD6KM-MFGH5F-60UR03. The product ID were also the same, be QE064UA #ABA. Then the results will follow with "Disk 1"

Anyway... Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. And sorry in advance if I missed spelling errors... Not used to write through phone o3o

Hello

The error code for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also compatible with other issues that you talk about slow loading, gel etc.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion 15-p263nl: 2nd HARD drive cart, replace the optical drive for HP Pavilion p263nl 15 Notebook PC & Windows 10

    Hi all!

I intend to add an SSD for my HP Pavilion p263nl-15 Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

In other words, there is my plan:

1 remove the real disk HDD hard bay and replace it with the new SSD.

    2. remove the optical drive and replace it with the adapter caddy containing my old HDD.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD using a USB key recovery made with my real Windows 10 system (which has been updated from Windows 8.1 July 2016).

I already have a 120 GB OCZ SSD (OCZ Vertex 3).

I have a few questions before buying the adapter:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 should. What size the card be? I found offers for 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm that are supposed to be suitable for HP Pavilion in general

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Alessandro

p.s. in this section of the forum (where I took most of the post), the solution worked almost perfectly, but it's a different product of the Pavilion 15 ^^

    Hello

    1. Yes,

    2. your machines use 9.5 mm SATA Tray,

3 problem? I can't answer this question because who knows nothing until the track.

    4. I don't know how you create USB recovery but a good new installation should work.

    Hello KVD.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

The error you mentioned shows that there is a problem with the hardware with the main hard drive. You can try to buy a hard drive replacement to HP PartSurfer if the computer is not in the warranty. If this is the case, you should be able to get the service on the HP support by phone. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide

  • Pavilion g7-1167dx Notebook PC will not boot

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1167dx Notebook PC running Windows 7 Home Premium.  When I turn it on, the LED only lights are LEDs of power (on the power switch and side) and the network LED on the F12 key.  I am not able to enter the diagnostics of material via the F2 key.  The fan is operating normally. It had been produced intermittently before (during the last two weeks), but I wanted to just wait awhile and it would eventually start again.  When he finally is never returned, I disassembled carefully, according to the maintenance and care, guide (on an ESD protection adequate workstation) and gave it a good cleaning.  It was very dusty inside.  Unfortunately when I reassembled it, it still does not work.  The computer is a little more than two years.  -In addition, there was never any display error or other indications of problems. Product number: LW414UA #ABA

I sent the motherboard to repair parts of computer out of Miami, Florida and they fixed it and returned.  I was told it was the video chip.  They charged $70.00.  With each shipment way I got it fixed for $90.00.   Hallelujah!  With their setting of the original motherboard, I didn't have to worry about problems of CMOS and "tattoeing" a new motherboard, which would have cost a lot more.

  • HP Pavilion 15-e073ca: 2nd HARD drive cart, replace the optical drive for HP Pavilion e073ca 15 Notebook PC & Windows 10

    Hello!

I intend to add an SSD in my two years 15-e073ca HP Pavilion Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD, using a recovery USB stick made with my system Windows 10 real (which has been updated from Windows 8.1).

I plan to purchase the following parts:

    1 - a HDD / SSD cart adapter for HP Pavilion 15 (model OBHD9-SATA-SATA-BU9), of NewmodeUS (http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=583)

    2 - a SSD 128 GB (article SDSSDHP - 128G), SanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/ultra-plus/?capacity=128gb)

I have a few questions before I buy parts:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 - the height of the SSD is 7mm, and it seems that my old HDD is 9.5 mm in height (model WDC WD10JPVT-60A1YT0). It would cause no problem (I need to add spacers)?

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Haghe

Your plan is perfect. The SSD to will of 7 mm that always come back fine it just will be lower in the caddy. The holes and SATA connections are in the same place as a hard drive of 9.5 mm. You can use a spacer (many SSD include one in the box) but not really necessary.

Installing SSD for Windows 10 the way you expect is not really "own", that he will again introduce files and programs, in my opinion and certainly drivers. Whatever it is, it works perfectly and activates the old installation has been enabled.

The hard disk in the optical adapter will not be bootable and will transfer the data a bit slower than a drive in the main compartment, but will still be usable for most cases. If you need fast input/output like Photoshop or video editing move the job file to the first SSD. Alternatively, you may wish to consider documents and photos and other migration on the HARD drive to keep the 128 GB SSD to fill. You can right-click on these files and select 'place' and move them. After the back if you need some help with that.

    Enjoy.

    Hello:

You can get the BIOS to support driver page was last updated and your laptop on the link below.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&product=3664998

I will repeat what I mentioned earlier.

    1. There is only a Windows-based flash file.  Only company in the HP PC have BACK base of flash files and there is no way to update the BIOS from a drive, flash or BACK etc.

    2. you only need to run the Windows based flash using the operating system support (Windows Vista only).

Any attempt to Flash the BIOS using any other operating system laptop = dead.

The graphics card is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be removed or replaced.  It doesn't matter what said you that any software.  There is no graphics removable 'card' in your laptop.

I don't know what your model contains wireless card model, so please do the following steps and I will understand this and post links to the BT drivers and wireless you need...

Since there is no driver installed wireless, we need a labeled device network controller in Device Manager in the category other devices.  The network controller device will be a little! mark next to him.

Thus, to find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the third element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.
