HP Pavilion g6 - 3 Questions

Hello!

I have a few Questions please:

  1. In win xp, when I click on F2 can rename a folder or file, also with F5 can refresh the current pafe (web page, dekstop,...)! Why I can't do with my current bones & laptop computer? When I click on F5, I receive a new web page! and with F2 to adapt the brightness!
  2. Can I burn the current operating system (with my softaware and settings) as an Image on DVD, so I can get the current system, when my laptop is broken!
  3. I want to resize the current hard drive! I mean I want to shrink the space of C and added to D... etc! I'm triyed with (disk management). But I can not decrease more than MB 2522 (see photo below). It is possible with other software like Partition Magic?

There have always been differences between Windows Desktop shortcut keys and shortcut keys (function) for laptop.  Notebook function keys are coded in the BIOS.
  2. Can I burn the current operating system (with my softaware and settings) as an Image on DVD, so I can get the current system, when my laptop is broken! You are supposed to use the recovery media creator to create a copy of the operating system, drivers and HP software. This is your copy of the operating system. You can use media reecovery on your laptop when it is repaired.

The downside is that you lose the functionality of F11 Recovery Manager it may be easier to just install a larger hard drive and perform a recovery of image factory via the Recovery Manager.

  • HP Pavilion G6 1283SL & questions Atheros AR9285

    Hello

you have a problem with the laptop from my friend who drives me crazy. Laptop HP Pavilion G6 1283 SL (Win 7 64-bit), malfunctioning adapter is Atheros AR9285.

Last night, she confirmed a HP Support Assistant update automatic and just after that, its wireless card has stopped working. LED light is always blue and the map looks like perfectly beautiful and functional - cell "sees", the drivers are up to date, everything is fine. It simply does not connect to the WiFi connection, Red Cross on the wifi icon.

I tried every possible solution: first of all, any combination of 'reboot - replace the drivers - download drivers', and then abruptly deleting everything about Atheros using ZSoft Uninstaller and reinstall all the drivers fresh and new. Still nothing. Then, I tried to perform a system restore, and any time I choose, laptop was never completed because of a problem of 'missing file' generic. Has opened a whole new chapter, I checked for viruses, malwares and stuff, laptop is now cleaner than ever, still no recovery and again, no Atheros card work (I mean: it works for Win, but it doesn't actually).

Please do not suggest me some "uninstall - reinstall - select X - enable-reboot" solution because 99.9%, I have already tried. Read almost any topic related to card wifi Atheros or Pavillion G6 questions, here and on the net.

The only remaining solution is replacement of the card or formatting of the laptop? Needless to say, this is a ridicolous pretty outrageous waste of time (and money, perhaps). She needs her laptop for her job, and for some a matter of update of HP, she loses of fact already two days to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Colin

    Problem solved (by myself)!

Apparently uninstall ZoneAlarm by using a "deep" uninstall program has solved the problem. After awhile, a new wifi Win miniport emerged in wifi card and Device Manager began looking for networks and our network connection to domestic.

  • Pavilion dv7 - 1243cl: Questions of compensation for the motherboard component

I have the following related material two 2 for hp experts, and both issues are with respect to the same JBK00 - 4091 P Rev 1 a motherboard, which is installed in a computer hp Pavilion dv7 - 1243 cl laptop:

Below, I've included a picture that relates to both of my questions.

QUESTION #1: I accidentally lost a resistance in repair motherboard of my friend. None of the experts know the ohm value of resistance R610?

As you can probably tell from the image, below, I accidentally ripped out all the pads of twelve 12 pins on the motherboard for FFC connector JP36 (pictured below), so I have to fill each of the connections with wire 30AWG pin connector FFC (JP36). That said, I have been unable to trace the pin #10 connector FFC to any component on the motherboard, so my last question is the following:

QUESTION #2: Regarding the twelve 12-pin FFC connector as shown in the image below (component no. PCB: JP36), which component pin #10 connects to the motherboard?

Any help would be DEEPLY appreciated!

I thought about it, so I thought I'd post the answer just in case someone else has the same problem in the future.

    R611 = 0.1 Ω

    R610 = 0.1 Ω

  • HP Pavilion g7 recovery questions

    Hello

I plan to do a factory reset on my HP Pavilion g7, because the pilots somehow began to disturb, reinstall the original drivers does not resolve this problem, so I have a few questions:

How do I know that the recovery programs were not damaged, while I won't have problems when the recovery is complete?

I have updated BIOS with HP Support Manager a month ago, the recovery also moved the original driver for BIOS?

I can make the recovery of a battery in the laptop or I have to remove and do as the tank adapter?

How long it takes for this process to be done (approx.)?

Can I keep recovery (D and HP_TOOLS (E after recovery?))

This recovery will really put me on the language selection screen, after it's done and instal lall, the pilots and the original software?

Do I need Internet while doing a recovery?

How do I know that the recovery programs were not damaged, while I won't have problems when the recovery is complete? Use recovery disk series or usb recovery media that you should have right there.

I have updated BIOS with HP Support Manager a month ago, the recovery also moved the original driver for BIOS? A recovery will have no effect on the BIOS.

I can make the recovery of a battery in the laptop or I have to remove and do as the tank adapter? No recoveries with the AC adapter.

How long it takes for this process to be done (approx.)? Depends on the media you use. If you use a usb recovery media is fast enough. Maybe an hour. If you use recovery DVD, so maybe it will take two hours or more. If you perform a recovery from Windows, you may have one or two hours.

Can I keep recovery (D and HP_TOOLS (E after recovery?)) It would be a wise thing to do. Consider the fact that neither score is actually a lot of space on your hard drive.

This recovery will really put me on the language selection screen, after it's done and instal lall, the pilots and the original software? the recovery will be in the default language for portable computer was shipped with. It will install the drivers, but not necessarily all applications. and then it also depends on the type of recovery you have chosen.

Do I need Internet while doing a recovery? No.

    Please help me.

  • Pavilion dv5 startup question point

This morning when I got to the top of my dv5 Pavilion (with Vista installed), after showing the logo of HP, the screen went black and does nothing else. I have repeated many times and also tried going to the start menu, all this without success. After Googling the problem, I tried to remove the battery (which is 6 years old and has absolutely no charge) and cable load and hold the power button for about 20 seconds. Someone on a forum I read stated that it needed to dump any residual charge in all of the material. However, after replacing the battery and charging cable, the problem persisted. Another source suggested commissioning with the battery removed, linking directly to the power of the charging cable. It worked.

My question is if someone can explain WHY it worked. What difference does make if the power comes directly the supply cable vs from cable, thanks to the battery, then the material?

    Sebastian42 wrote:

I already assumed that the battery has not (or close to it). Even when the power cable is connected, the status of the battery in the bottom right of the screen shows a constant load of 0%. The only reason why I have let in the laptop at this point is because it feels strange to have a big hole in the lower part of the machine. I have not replaced because I never really need the laptop in a place where there is no outlet and do not see the point of spending money (I'm a poor student, after all).

When I said "battery replacement", I only intended put the original back in.

When the computer is started at the beginning, the BIOS temporarily control the charging of the battery until the OS has finished starting? Yes And if so, the fact that the battery is more charges bring somehow the BIOS to get stuck before can start the main OS?

I guess what I'm asking is this: the BIOS tries to start to charge the battery and then get caught in some kind of loop when loading does not work as usual, thus preventing the later stage of the start-up of the main OS?

I would remove the battery until a replacement is available. A lot of people this, when a laptop is used only as a replacement of PC desktop. It does not hurt a thing.  When a failed battery is left in place, you take a chance.

On the inside of the battery, the battery pack controller card failure is likely to be the reason why the laptop does not start in Windows with the battery installed.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6060ep: question to replace HARD drive

    Hello.

I would like to know if replacing the current 500 Gb Hdd with a SSD would cancel or in any way affect my warranty coverage. The laptop is a year old. Thanks in advance for any assistance of withy this question.

    Hello:

There should be no problem with the warranty as long as you don't break something trying to install the HARD drive.

HP will not support the SSD however and your recovery disks don't work because the new drive must be the same size the 500 GB HARD drive you removed.

I have a workaround for the problem of recovery disk...

According to the specifications of your PC system, it came with W7 Home Premium 64-bit.

It must be in English, French or Spanish version too.

If so, download the ISO W7 Home Premium 64 bit on the link below.

Burn the file on a disk using a program that can burn ISO files so the DVD is bootable DVD burning.

Burn at the lowest speed as possible.

Then use the product key 25 character on the bottom of your laptop computer to activate the installation.

Support of your laptop and driver page visit to install all the drivers you need.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Driver questions

My mother's cell phone, a Pavilion dv7-4273, began to display an error in the boot and screen several times during normal use which was not his hard drive. Naturally, like any other time it happened for me or someone else, I bought a suitable hard drive and install a new copy of Windows 7 (unfortunately, everything I have right now is 32-bit). In any case, not exclusive to the computer worked (keys function, internet, ect), so the pilots were the next step.

    This is my problem.

While most of the drivers have been downloaded and installed with ease (via another computer with a flash drive), more important don't seem to not work at all. When I try to install the driver wireless for internet, it just getting started, even before that I get a window that says something along the lines of "Windows has detected that this software has not been installed properly," and I can select 'Reinstall using recommended settings' or "this program is installed correctly." None of these options work and I am still unable to connect to the internet. I need this to be fixed as soon as POSSIBLE; We are now on an extremely tight schedule.

The other thing is the function keys. This I don't understand quite as well. It starts and installs, but there is no window that confirms the installation (IE a button 'Finish' or a 'driver installed successfully"), and the FN keys still don't work. It's not as big of a deal, but it would be nice to get that back on track also.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you install the drivers and to check that they have installed, and then open Device Manager.

Any device that does not have a good driver installed, will have a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

Once the correct driver for the device is installed, tell tale yellow exclamation beside her point will disappear in real-time. This will be your 'Finish' button or a notice "driver installed successfully."

The Fn keys are a BIOS setting.  Enter the BIOS (power, immediately tap the Esc key--> start menu--> choose F10 for BIOS configuration) and check the keys for defining Action.

The following image shows how the device manager should look like when all the required drivers are installed.

Use the system diagnostics in the BIOS to determine the State of the hard drive.

In your announcement of the name of the product of the laptop, you left out the last two characters. It should be instead of 4273 dv7 dv7-4273us?

If you want to see dv7-4273us then your wireless adapter will be one of the two that I mentioned in the following image.

If you are uncomfortable not knowing exactly which adapter is installed, then you can right click on the network device that does not have a driver installed, select Properties, use the drop-down arrow to select the hardware ID and post the PCI\VEN as in the following image. I or another expert checks the database and you know that is installed in your laptop.

    Best regards

    Hi it :-)

I just installed Win7 on my new e049wm Pavilion 17 and installed what I think are all the drivers (following the instructions in this link, on the account that Win7 seems to be unsupported for the e049wm so far)

In addition, two usb ports on the left side of my laptop don't work! : s there at - it gurus of support out there that might lead me in the right direction to solve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I would be disappointed to be forced using Windows 8 when it requires users to have accounts of microsoft simply use several 3rd party applications.

  • My HP Pavilion Notebook has questions

Recently, I turned off my PC then started to connect, once I had entered my password that the PC got stuck on the part "Welcome" (this is the first time, it has happened and that happened for two hours). I recently got this PC not a month ago. Before I shut down my PC I was do pop ups and asked to rate sites Web etc, I noticed that it seemed to be a virus but when I scanned it, no viruses were found. The only issues with my PC are internet and my trying to connect. I would be extremely grateful for the help please.

    Hi annanurdock4045

peerone suggested its probably of malware, adware, Trojans etc.
    What antivirus do you use?
I suggest you download following the latest software of their authentic sites: malwarebytes 1) free version - scan completely & remedy in threat analysis, 2) adwcleaner - run the download file n do a complete scan n remove all found threats, 3) trend housecall - a full scan (may take several hours depending on the size of the hard drive (, mine took 6 hours) & delete or correct any threat detected.

After all this rebooting your system, download CCleaner on their website, install it do a full scan... do not change the settings. Click on correct after the scan.

Restart scan with some another antivirus online scanner again, opt for trend housecall new scan online eset, do the download, install... sweep remove n or difficulty threats detected, if any. That's all.
After all this, better do you windows defender after analysis to date for confirmation.

post your results of the analysis... If you have found any threats in any of the scans after each of them,
If it is a Trojan or a virus, you may need to restore your system to a previously affected State.

    Thank you
