HP Pavilion G6: HP Pavilion G6 - keyboard does not

I have a problem with the laptop of mothers, it was working fine yesterday but when today on some keys have stopped working!

Its the first row of letters, Q backwards, with the exception of T & Y as well as the up and left arrow keys do not work, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this in the past?

I removed the keyboard and cleaned up, made sure, it has been connected correctly and it was.

I removed the battery, hold the power for 30 seconds and then reinserted the battery.

I loaded the default settings in the BIOS.

I uninstalled the keyboard and him restarted the laptop.

None of them worked and now, I'm stumped! So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Well, I seem to have solved the problem, I rolled back to the last known good configuration that did not help, so I removed the keyboard for it has been correctly connected, that did not help either.

I then turned on the laptop and you press hard, when I pressed D who worked, he changed the brightest which is F3 I think and then all of a sudden everything started working again so I don't know what happened, maybe a stuck key or something, but it works now in any case!

I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV6000 Windows Vista.  The Windows form with password starts successfully.  But I can't enter my password - or other data from the keyboard, with the exceptions below:

    1. the lock shift key works.

    Hello

    (1) once the unit is on keep tap the F8 key, select the last good known configuration & check if Unit works very well.

    (2) you can also try F10 key try to do a Bios default.

    (3) once the unit is power on keep touching the use key F8, and then select Safe mode with command prompt type keys and check if the keys does not work, you may need to replace the keyboard because it is a hardware failure.

  • g6 Pavilion laptop keyboard does not

All of the keyboard on my computer hp laptop pavilion g6 has completely stopped working.  As it is locked?   I installed Office 2013 teacher and then it stopped working.  Not that that was the reason, but it's the only thing I did differently.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Tap away at the button esc you start the laptop to see if it will launch the Start Menu and select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys (assuming that they work in this menu) to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Note:  If you find that the keys do not work in the Bios menu, then it is likely to be a hardware problem.

  • Pavilion 15AB271SA: keyboard does not not as expected

Laptop 5 days ago. Problem trying to type anything at speed.  See example - problis tryto typing anything at speed.

I find myself with a load of random letters as some keys just refusing to enter when hit. Only seems to work if I hit a button every 2 seconds. Not much good for an amateur writer.  I sometimes have to hit a key 3 times or 4 to get something from him.

Just as bad in Word format or online. Very disappointing. Guess I should just bring back.

Suppose I have CK shoujust. (the previous sentence to normal typing speed).

    Any advice?

    @NCISfan44

You can adjust the speed of pretty good keyboard in the same way that it worked in previous versions of Windows.

Control Panel > display icon > keyboard > keyboard properties > adjust as required

    Example of reference:

Typing speed is slow on windows 10, how to change the keyboard speed?

Other than that, make sure that you have installed / updated your relevant HP drivers for Windows 10.  Sometimes the site assistance page driver computer are newer than your 'new' specifications.

  • HP Pavilion g7-1365dx: wireless keyboard does not work.

I have a combination and connected mouse microsoft wireless keyboard to my laptop.  The mouse recently 'died' and replace the batteries with new Energizer batteries did not help.  I bought a new Logitech mouse and installed the new USB connector and the mouse worked flawlessly.  However, the wireless keyboard does not work now.  If I reinstall the 'old' or the original USB, the wireless keyboard connector works fine.  The new mouse does not work with the original USB connector.  So now I have two USB connectors that are connected to the computer to make the functional keyboard and mouse.  Is there a solution to eliminate one of the USB connectors?  I realize that the brand of the mouse and keyboard are different.  This is the problem and if so can it be fixed?

    Hi ECJ-10,

Well, you answered your question yourself. They are different products, so you need 2 USB receivers.

The alternative is to get a replacement of microsoft mouse if it is still under warranty, they usually do.

    Hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 keyboard works not properly

    Hello

I use a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop running Windows 7 for about a year and a half.  Recently (I can't say exactly when) I noticed that my keyboard does not work properly.  There is nothing huge, but sometimes I have to push a button twice before she will comply, or it will be delayed in its response.  Another thing is that I originally used to have to hold the function key and press the space bar at the same time turn off the light that surrounds the touchpad. Now, I just simply press the function key (not now) and, no matter how many other keys I press on in the meantime, the next time that I press the space bar, the light turns off.  It's both distracting and frustrating because I need to press the space bar to operate normally.

My drivers are all up to date.  I tried to remove them and reinstall them. I changed a few settings in the Bios, and then reset the default settings, all to nothing does not.  I would appreciate any idea or you guys can offer me solutions.

    Thank you!

    Hi El Nacho,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv6 and keyboard problems. Here is a link to uninstall the keyboard. Restart the computer after the uninstall, it must be reinstalled automatically.

Have you tried to take a little air to the keyboard to see if maybe it's dust or debris which initially are intermittent use?

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-3000 does not start

My HP Pavilion dv7t-3000 does not start. I checked this article: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674

According to who, the error condition is: 'non-functional CPU.

So if I buy a new processor and disassemble the laptop and replace the processor, it will fix the problem?

Perhaps, but it is much more likely to be the motherboard. If the motherboard is bad, you can't trust the blink codes that it generates. Failures of the CPU but rarely occur. Motherboard failure happens all the time.

  • The sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm does not work

Hi the sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm does not work.   His "only" works when you use the audio plug with external speakers.   I tried to uninstall the driver, update the driver, microsoft fix - it and troubleshooting steps.  audio device present in the Device Manager and supposedly working properly, mute is "not"on."  visually everything audio related things suggest that the audio is fine and troubleshooting finds no problem... what else could it be?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55036.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click 'Speakers and headphones' (or speakers/HP) once to highlight and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  • Keyboard does not not with IOS 10

I just downloaded the IOS 10 today, and the keyboard does not appear. I can almost see below the iMessage space where you normally text; However, I can't access it. I can't access my keyboard in Contacts, Notes or any other applications. Help, please.

You have more than 2 keyboards (English & Emoji) Configuration? Go to settings > general > keyboard > keyboard and check. Sometimes this happens when there is a configuration of keyboard by a 3rd party application.

My Bitmoji keyboard does not work after that I updated to iOS 10 update. I have no idea why, my friends Bitmoji keyboard works fine after that she has updated her phone and mine does not work so I was wondering why. It worked perfectly fine before I upgraded my phone. I was wondering what to do.

  • El Capitan keyboard does not not after reboot

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

After one of the recent improvements, I met a problem, if I take my mac, the keyboard and the trackpad to respond enough lag (if I constantly try to move the cursor, he'll have a time and then for like half an hour it will completely stop responding and after this the other repeats). It only happens after reboot and only on the login screen. So if I put my mac to sleep and then wake up, everything will work perfectly. Same thing if I managed somehow to connect, once the keyboard and trackpad respond correctly. The only button that works fine after reboot is the power button, but it doesn't help much, because it charges does not solve the problem somehow: as soon as the user selection screen, keyboard and mouse stops responding again (or should I say "start answering from time to time").

I saw lots of questions here on the keyboard does not not after waking up, but as you can see, this isn't my situation.

    Try again in Safe Mode.

Start up all by holding down the SHIFT key. It takes five minutes longer because it is a disk first aid on the way up, and you MUST provide your user name and password, even if you normally the automatic connection.
