HP Pavilion HPE h8-1114 Deskto: replacement motherboard on HP desktop PC

Given there are too many problems with the motherboard of Pegatron IPISB-CU (Carmel2) on a HP PC that is 4 years old as my blu - ray player and dvd player not working not both at the same time, the video card fan died won't spend countless hours searching the same replacement of a video card that will not play new games. Recent maps have new bios UEFI which are not compatible with the map of Pegatron that I and most of the companies do not have BIOS custom to make the card work with the motherboard. I thought about replacing the motherboard and try to push it another 2 years. However I have a few questions about this process.

First, WILL the Intel Intel Core i5 2400 processor currently on the HP PC will work with another different Board or is LOCKED to the current configuration of the motherboard and will not work with any replacement motherboard? How about the memory sticks? I know that Intel makes their products compatible with their own products and the upgrade/replacement by other non approved parts HP will not work with their products.

How will be my Windows 7 installation is affected by the replacement of motherboar? I have to do custom / clean install of Windows 7, or I'll still be able to use the Suite of recovery in the PC to re - install Windows 7?

I'm not planning to upgrade the power supply on the PC because I'm shopping for a low-power video (not the means.) map And I also know that if I update the motherboard, I know that I lose the wireless/Bluetooth card and the card reader because it has a secondary power supply that I did not see in any other configuration of the motherboard.

Or simply scrap system and start from scratch. I can't believe my $900 luck down the drain in less than 4 years.

Upon reflection, while I do not normally give replacement Advisor, these two motherboard will work with the CPU and the memory that is currently in your PC

Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1

ASUS P8H67-M LX

Being that they are not current models, so that he may be uneven buy locations.  I will leave that option open.  These form factors (case plug Assembly) is not compatible with the present case.   Check the mounting options in the current case vs buying a new case.

    Shifter2k4, welcome to the forum.

The main thing is to buy a hard drive that is the same size or larger than the failed drive.  This ensures that the recovery of the system will work.  I like the Western Digital drives.  If you want to speed up your computer, you could buy an SSD.  If you go this way, you will need at least 160 GB.  I love the Samsung SSD drives.

  • HP Pavilion a6000n: no need for replacement motherboard - it's the standard micro ATX?

I want to upgrade this computer and get a new card mother and CPU. Currently there is a M2N68-LA/NARRATED-GL8E made by Asus for HP. No matter what micro ATX motherboard will work, or that it has an odd size or placement of screw hole or else incompatible?

    Thank you!

In case anyone is interested, I picked up an ASRock 970 M Pro3 AM3 mATX Motherboard AMD and a 8-core processor from AMD FX 8320E. The motherboard was a little shorter than the origian, then the bottom screw holes align. But it is strong enough and it works fine.

There, however, no place to plug in the SD card reader, or the front firewire. I do not use firewire, so this isn't a problem, but I'll miss the SD card reader. It's one thing that I forgot to check when looking for motherboards.

  • HP Pavilion HPE 1090 t: could someone help me please... Desktop HP Pavilion HPE h8-1090 t CTO - PSU replacement/compatibiliy

I just bought a new power supply (Corsair CS650M) because someone has suggested that it would be a good replacement power supply for my HP model which is HP Pavilion HPE 1090 t.   I need to know if this Corsair works and is compatible with my system, because something is not working with him directly or I did something wrong.    This is my first install and when it comes to the ins and outs of power amplification entry & exit and amperages I get so confused about this stuff.   But I think I took all the pluged connection correctly, at least when I re-plugin my old PSU after the installation to fail, I had the PC working again, what made me give confidence that I did the Corsair install correctly.  But what happens is after the installation of the unit from Corsair and turn the system he clicked power off after about 10 seconds or more and then restarted after a few seconds, then stopped again and turns off after another 10 to 15 seconds, and nothing would come up on top of the screen no more.   The first time I did the research what PSU would be compatible, I was getting conflicting results with a few places on the net saying that the majority of the HP out there (excluding some models such as the slimline) could be replaced by different manufacturers and higher power PSU, while other places I looked different.   Even the person who recommended me this power supply said in his post that he installed a Corsair HX650 model in its HP PC, and it worked very well for him.  Now, after the failure of the installation for the next few days, I did a lot more research and when I went on the site of HP and looked up the specifications of the model my PC I noticed under the power supply section, he had a heading that says "must select one of the following options" (in fact most of the different sections shows that the title too) and then he showed only two options 460W and 600W.  Then he asked me if it's the only option I get with my model.  And then I looked at my model number HP on the HP PartSurfer and under the section of the PSU, it also registers only 460W and 600W.   So who is?   I have to stay with only these options two HP or can I get a power supply with a higher power a bit then 600W from a different manufacturer that is what I want.    If I can get something that is compatible other than the options listed HP please let me know, or if this Corsair should work someone please let me know.   I need to return it otherwise.    My specs are below.

Although there is a limit to the amount of power that is needed to power your computer, it uses only the amount of power it takes to power the computer correctly.  The extra power is kept in reserve for the purposes of art.  Thus, you cannot really bad the computer with extra power or amperage.  You can sleep on this point.

    Indianaak wrote:

Thank you very much for your quick response, I wasn't getting anyone to answer the previous post.

If your saying these HP spare parts are not exclusive to the company?  Some connectors may be owners, but most are not.

It should work then?  Yes.  I've recommended hundreds of the PSU in the years I've been helping on the Forums; in fact since about 2002.

How about the input/output & amperages of note that I registered?  As I understand not all this jargon, I want to assure you that I have / using correct notation for my system.  I don't want to fry one of my compondents with to much amperage.   Well, either I did something wrong installing or this power supply is a dud then.  Read my explanation at the top of the page.

As I said before I pretty sure I had all the right connections, what can you tell me if it sounds right for you.  I have pluged in both connectors wired on the motherboard which were the main ATX 24pin power connector and the EPS/ATX12V 8 pin which I shared and pluged a piece of the cable labeled 'CPU' in slot 4 pins on the montherboard labeled ATX CPU.  Regarding the other split 4 pads, I don't see anywhere, it could be pluged into the motherboard.  If two 4-pin connectors were even marked, it should be good.  However, you can try to plug the other 4 pin instead of this, just to make sure that the right pair is connected to the processor power.

My AMD Radeon HD 6570 1 GB graphics card is the type that is fed through the MB so I didn't use any of the PCI-E cables 6-8 poles.  It is very good.

And so the only thing I had left that I have pluged the compondents of Sata cables that was my Bluray burner, my 2 TB hard drive and my USB 3.0 card.  They are very frank.

Yet once again being installation of hardware in my system let me ask hopefully not a stupid question, but when you connect compondents Sata cable, you must have the plug-in in a particular order of wiring compondent or how do you?  I don't check the specifications of your power supply, but I think most of them have a single 12V rail.  If this is the case, you don't have to connect them to any order.  If there are two rails, it is best to divide the power of each rail.

On my old PSU, it has an extension cable SATA used to connent card USB 3.0 which is pretty tightly squeezed between graphics card and sound card, so I guess I could use the extension cable with the new PSU POWER Sata wiring without any compatibility also publishes, right?  This should be no problem I can think of at this point.

Thanks again for your help, I'll probably will try and plug it once more and see if I can make it work.  If this does not work for now, I strongly suggest that you contact Technical Support of Corsair for help.  They are the experts on their products and grab any errors that we do.  It is very difficult to diagnose a problem by far.  When you have done with this project, you will no longer be the excuss you are a novice. You will have a lot of knowledge that you did not when you started.

  • Connect the second VGA monitor to Pavilion HPE

    Hello

I have a Pavilion HPE h8-1114 PC, that has a DVI and HDMI monitor port. I have a VGA monitor connected to the DVI port with an adapter. I have a second VGA monitor, I want to connect, but I understand that it cannot be connected to the HDMI port. Are there other options besides buying a HDMI monitor? Can I use one of the covered ports which I think is VGA? (I guess not.) Can I add a second graphics card with a VGA port and use both screens? (I saw on another post that adding another graphics card could disable the existing card). Can I opt for a card that supports two VGA or DVI ports?

    Thank you!

In addition what erico said, there are other options. You can use a video-to-USB adapter of EVGA UV plus + 19 or you can add a x 1 PCIe graphics card. If with a PCIe x 1, using a card Nvidia... results will be the best in this way.

I recently baught an EVGA GTX 1060, as this 630 became quite long in the tooth and I thought that I would try to future proof myself a little as the rest of my components seem to be working very well.  However, I can't get the map to work correctly on this particular computer.  Oddly enough, I can get past that screen startup finally after several short beeps and let it sit, but it takes fowever to reach the office and clearly is not executed properly that the resolution is wobbly and software from Nvidia cannot even detect the card.  I guess I had got this far because of the onboard graphics of some sort, but AFAIK this motherboard which lacks.

I know that the card works fine as I tested it in my other Tower, so I struggled to find a solution.  So far, it seems that the problem is most likely the motherboard, as HP does not have a new BIOS for it since the beginning of 2013 (which I did go ahead and install it).  If true, I find myself with either two options, it seems that the ditch system, entirely or find a motherboard that works with all my old components.  I'd rather not have to empty this workaholic, when all other parts work great, if it is not a work around I would like to know if there are motherboards I could pass that would work with the rest of my components.  Normally I would not bother with even apply for, but I hear a lot of chatter on HP PCs pre-constructed having compatibility problems.

I bought this computer there is in the case of four years that I would be able to update as I do with any other PC, but I didn't know at the time that HP has a tendency to not update the BIOS settings for anything beyond a year which I admit is incredibly frustrating.  What is done is done however, and I want to make this work without having to clear the entire system.

    @Faver, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is the BIOS.  However, it is because the 1060 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The BIOS may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last cards only not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.

MSI made cards with a switch that can be used with a Legacy BIOS or UEFI.  If you decide to go this way, you must contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

The upgrade of the motherboard can be a problem.  HP has taken advice their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as the commercial versions.  Please make sure that the holes in the motherboard matches the accessory in the case.  In addition, some members have had problems with the connectors in the connections case before, for example, the power button.

I see no reason why the GTS 450 (see card) is not working on your computer.  Your motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 (Gen.2) slot.  You can always call the manufacturer's Technical Support to make sure the card you have chosen will work.
