HP Pavilion p6-2003w Desktop PC CD/DVD driver problem

First of all, Hello and thank you for taking time to see my problem. I don't remember exactly what I was doing, but I know that I wanted to perform a restore factory on my computer, and when I tried it only allows me to choose this option (in the Recovery Manager, I think his name.) I factory restored several times before, so I did a system restore to another time to see if I could restore factory therefore, without success. Now after that the drive recognize more no CD/DVD I put in it. I tried to mount games with .iso files and the virtual drives are also screwed. I followed a few guides that I think could solve the problem (dealt with the yellow exclamation points next to the drivers, etc.) but that has not worked.

I would be very happy to help with my problem hoping to fix. Thanks for reading, as well as if you threw in some comments.

This info was in the microsoft fix it section.

  • Pavilion dv7 cannot recognize the CD/DVD drive, no help support "assistant".

Subject says it all.  Since I got this machine, it had problems when the CD/DVD drive becomes invisible and are not accessible by any means.  A reboot has solved in the past, but now, it doesn't seem to work more.  I would like to reinstall the drivers, but guess what, I don't know what kind of player, it is (funny how that works), and Support 'Assistant' is apparently ihcapable to understand the model of this Pavilion dv7 ("product name: loading...") ("now until the heat death of the universe), which does not help either.  Anyone has a better idea than just blindly install the drivers?

    Hello

Drivers for CD/DVD drives comes with Windows (IE with the operating system - it is not the drivers you need to download).  The driver is located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys.

First, try the automated Microsoft fixit at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

Check if the drive works now.

If the drive does not, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Right-click on the first channel and select uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When uninstalled repeat the process for each channel.  Also, if an ATA controller is listed, right click and uninstall it, once again is not removing the drivers if requested. Then, open the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives.  Make a right click the drive (if it shows!) and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.

Restart the computer and let Windows reinstall devices.  Check the disc again.

If it still does not work, re-run the fixit automated Microsoft at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

Then, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

    Best wishes

  • Satellite 2430 DVD drive problem

    Hello
My Satellite 2430 has had a strange DVD problem and may not know what is all about. All started when I tried to make a full recovery. The unit was not able to boot from the DVD. I checked the DVD player with different bootable disk, but still nothing. Unit won't boot from DVD drive even if you press F12 and peripheral DVD selected. Not to mention that the recovery DVDs is loaded normally in my desktop pc. Notepad starts Windows OK the HARD disk and, which is incredible, is that, inside Windows, everything is OK. The DVD player works like a dream. However, it is not enough to perform a full restore, as the recovery process cannot be initialized by Windows. A leap that the BIOS is at the origin of the problem, I've upgraded to version 1.6, but there is no change in the behavior of the DVD.
Any thoughts, before using a big-big hammer?

    Hello

Have you tried to change the boot priority in the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then first change the startup procedure to the CD player. The local network must be on the end.

He error code 39 is very common issue and can be resolved easily.
See this MS knowledge base article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us

So first of all remove the CD/DVD drive device manager.
Then access the registry using the regedit command and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Reboot the laptop and wait until the CD/DVD drive has been installed again.

    That s it. ;)

If there is no way to make it work again try to use the System Restore tool or preinstall OS using the recovery CD. After that it should work fine again except there are a few hardware malfunction.

  • Lenovo y530 Windows 7 installation cd/dvd driver problem

    Hello everyone!

I'm a happy user of Lenovo y530 bought with MS Windows Vista Home Premium. I have easy access to your MSDN AA software. It allows me to download and install Windows 7 Professional for example. I downloaded the image, tested on virtual machine and it works fine. So I decided to install it directly on my hard drive for portable computers. I burned a dvd with a possible minimum speed and here I had a problem. It starts very well, I choose the language and locale, but after she, I have information that there is a missing cd/dvd driver. Installer wants to give me a file location.

I don't know what driver is needed. I downloaded files related to my Optirac drive but they are all exe and it does not accept the installation program. Could someone help me?

I searched many forums, but there is no ansfer of satisfaing I can't use USB key to install it.

I also tried another DVD to burn, another Windows build - and the result was the same.

Edit: have you tried with another order of start (CD 1) - with the same results

The response was quite strange for me. I tried a DVD + R instead of DVD - R disc and it works

However, she acknowledges a Virgin dvd/cd-rw as a dvd/cd-rw. Can someone explain this causes the drives are not fully and I'm using nero6 to write files on the disks.

    Hi gy-tek.

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

You can try to check out the following link and try the Fixit or the steps for Windows XP:

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

  • Code 19 CD/DVD drive problem.

My CD/DVD drive is not recognized.  I go into the Device Manager and it says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

I tried to uninstall then restart and reinstall as troubleshooting says and I still have this problem.

I tried "Mr. Fix it" and tells me that it cannot solve the problem.

I tried to go through the steps of using regedit and there are no "less" filter to remove, only a "superior" filter  When I look for what to do if there is no lower filters to delete, there is no help in finding.

I checked my driver, that is until this day of nto.

I tried a system restore. Did not work.

I am at my wits end and any advice would be very welcome.  It seems at this point, I need to reinstall windows xp, but I have no idea how to do it even without a working cd player.

  • Portege M200 error - CD/DVD drive problem - Code 39

I have a problem. I would like to perform a recovery on my m200 Tablet System.

I have a dvd external drive (as the m200 has not built into the player) and the correct recovery disk.
However, because of a problem that occurred some time ago, there is a problem with the driver (+ Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device.

The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) +), and so I can't start the recovery.

If someone knows a way I can fix the driver, or another way to perform a system restore, it would be extremely useful!
A solution to the problems of one or two would be great.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    > The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) +), and so I can't start the recovery.
Are you sure about that? This code appears in running the operating system but recovery doesn't run under the operating system currently running.
Please try to start the recovery procedure and let me know exactly what is happening.

  • Satellite A - CD/DVD drive problems

    Hi guys go crazy...

I have the following questions, trying to burn a cd or dvd. Sometimes I'm not recignise the disc as a blank disc ready for use, sometimes it burns then shows nothing on the disc, sometimes it burns more than one disk then fails, sometimes it works perfect...

Today for example, I put in a 6 discs tried to copy the data off hd then failed, 7th disc works fine. Then when I go into the program, he suddenly used recignise of blank discs, I'd caution saying cd/dvd inserted could not detect with success, there is no logic to it... several times I went in only ashampoo and it does never no cd burner device detected, never had this before... Sometimes I questions with him rarely find a dvd that I have to put a few times and then he found it.

Im not sure if its related, but I have this error came as well, or what it is - this related to?

I ran a cd cleaning through it no help... tried to diffΘrents cds and dvds without help, install windows from scratch twice and update some software, used software of different formatting and options.

I have restored the backup disk computer not better, I updated the package value drivers and silent dvd software. I tried to burn in Explorer, nero, shrink dvd, ashampoo buring etc etc... Still get mixed results.

Im not sure if it's a hardware problem or software, I've never had a problem with it reading true copy DVD, sometimes probs wih burned those but if I put it six times, it works.

Any ideas, im wasting a lot of CDs and DVDs with my failures...

    Hello

Burning questions of CD or DVD are mainly related to a non compatible drive or finally it may be really a hardware problem (ODD).
But first, you should check some different discs from different manufacturers.

I had similar problems, but since I use the R TDK (CD and DVD), I have not noticed problems

PS: I use Nero too. in my opinion the best burning software

  • Satellite A100 - 785 PSAANE - CD/DVD drive problem

    Hello friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 785 PSAANE and its configurations are as follows:

    1.87 C2D Ghz, 1 GB of Ram (512 + 512), Windows Vista Basic, CD/DVD read/write...

Question: Its been long enough, I m facing some problem with my optical drive. Whenever I insert a CD that is originally made by any company, it works fine. At the time when I insert a CD that is personally burned with any normal CD data / engraver of DVD or CD that have been created previously by the same laptop mentioned above, its been interpreted as a blank disc. The data on the drive are not displayed.

For example: lets say if I insert a cd of the software as my webcam cd or cd of my printer they can be read normally and work very well. But at the point where I have to enter any cd that was burned by me that contains my personal files, it is read as a blank disc.

This problem does not exist with any of the DVDs. that is not serious every dvd I insert either being a software normal dvd or one that is burned as a given personal dvd, everything works fine and all the data DVD can be read.

I tried to reinstall the driver, I tried to reformat my laptop using the supplied with the notebook Toshiba Recovery CD, but the problem persists.

Between a few months ago, I tried to do a few tweak, as firstly I have insert the cd in the drive and then turn off the reader of cd and then allowing it once again would actually read the cd. But after a few tries, it also stopped working.

Now I have really no idea what should I do to get my CD to work normally.

I hope that this message can help out me.

    Your help will be appreciated

    Thanks for your precious time

    Concerning

    Christophe

    Hi Claudia,.

To be honest, I never heard A785 Satellite.
You should check the model number again, as wrote Akuma. It would be important to know.

But in General if you have the same problems after using the Toshiba Recovery disk it seems to be a bad material work because the recovery disc can restore the factory settings.

  • Satellite A100 CD/DVD drive problem

Hello.. I can normally play any type of cd or dvd, the cd or the dvd turns just in the computer and it opens, when I restart the computer and put the disc in a straight line, after the cd/dvd will play... If I'm going to play another cd/dvd at a later date, I have to restart the entire procedure, by restarting the computer.

There is no drivers on the computer... I see... However I download the latest version of itunes every time, which seems to cause the problem. In the past, it was ok, but now the problem is just constant.

I don't know how to put this problem right.

    I hope this helps...

    Hi mate

    I agree with Alex.
The itunes could affect the registry and change the filter settings.
You could remove the filters manually.

    Register, choose the key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

He remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values
