HP Pavilion p6733w: BIOS version question

HP experts out there or anyone with better information resources?  I'm looking for what type of BIOS initially provided with my computer, a HP Pavilion p6733w with a motherboard RS880 H-Alvorix.

Hi there @chocolatejeebus,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand that you are looking for more information on the original BIOS installed on your system. I'm happy to help you with this.

If you've never updated the BIOS on your system, or if you have updated once, then the original BIOS must always be available on your computer. This is your current BIOS or you can eat to help: desktop HP - BIOS recovery.

The support page for your system, HP Pavilion p6733w Desktop PC, the BIOS for the Board you describe is: N-Alvorix-RS880 motherboard BIOS Update Rev A 6.07. There is no earlier version described at all.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if so, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • How to access the BIOS Setup - Pavilion P6650z, BIOS Version 6.04

I have a 2 years, Pavilion P6650z, BIOS Version 6.04, AMD Athlon II 250 dual-core processor. Using Microsoft havdetectiontool, I checked the processor is capable of virtualization hardware-so, but I need to enable it. Problem: I have not been able to get to where I CAN enable it. I can access the BIOS settings by pressing F10 on start up, but I do not see the choice for the configuration of the BIOS, either on the main screen or advanced Sceen. Instead of press F10, I tried the key ESC and F2 button without success.

Thank you, lasvegaswireman. 'Power' seems like an odd tab for HP to have placed slot but youha, it did the job!

Sorry, but this new user did not find the button "accept as a Solution.

  • Replacement motherboard for Pavilion a6110n desktop PC / BIOS version

Newbie here.  After reading on various forums and watch clips of youtube, I think I can do this.  I'm no expert, as experienced folk you will quickly realize. But I messed up with computer hardware installed in the past.

Problem: my screen froze, accompanied by groups of small lines dotted migration across the screen. Upon reboot, the screen is black and all off.  The monitor works on another computer; However, the computer monitor displays No Signal when connected to my computer.

I went through the troubleshooting guide "monitor or TV is empty after starting the computer" on this site.  Nothing has worked - at the end it says replace video cards or a Service.  I decided that my computer has no se video card.  but that the video is built into the motherboard and that is what needs to be replaced.

The Board of Directors is NARRA2-GL8E, M2N68 - LA, Ref. HP 5188-8534.  I can quite easily replace the Council itself. I want a PLUG-AND-PLAY solution.  But what I've read is that, unless the replacement AND the version of the BIOS card is exactly the same, some BIOS reconfiguring is necessary, and that's what I'm a little uncomfortable with. I found a Board to sell with the 5.10 Version (6/23/2007-Phoenix).  Problem is without a video signal, I can't tell what version I have (my original BIOS version somehow traceable by serial number? Pavilion a6110n, System #GG718AA, S/N CNH71903LB, Best Buy bought 23/11/2007).  For what it's worth, I also found (on this site) is only a BIOS update for my computer: 2007-11-09, Version: 5.13, 1.36 M

If I have no way of ensuring plug-and-play, I'll probably go ahead and fork over the dough to a professional because I'm worried about messing with the BIOS with no prior experience.

Any input is welcome and appreciated.

IF you have ordered has been authorized the Office of a HP service provider (or HP), then it should come with instructions. Should be just a swap. Good luck.

  • Pavilion x 2 P3K81EA #ABU: BIOS Version fails to install

HP Support Assistant offers several times the "Doritos 2.0 system BIOS version.  I select the update and it appears to download and then the installation stage takes a long time before appears a box that says that the installation has failed.

I would not recommend installing the updates to the bios via Support Assistant. From personal experience, they fail. Go to your product support page software and drivers and check for correct bios upgrade and download from there.

  • Pavilion t3259.fi: Bios version of the card mother MS-7184 3.40

    Hello

I need to get the 'original' bios version 3.40, I think that the file is sp26648.exe

It has been available on the HP ftp, but not more.

Could you please upload again or send me an e-mail.

    Thank you.

Thanks for trying to help, but I updated my bios to 3.47 and what I want to do is it downgrade to the 3.40 origin.

The problem is that with the 3.47, the case fan is still running with high rpm and there is an ugly logo blank screen HP at the STATION, I would also like to see the screen of the original POST (detected CPU, RAM test, temperature, etc...).

In fact, I did now something that is NOT recommended but it works without problems for me now-> I have updated the bios with a bios MSI 7093 and I have access to a lot of option in the bios now (I needed to book the equipment sound blaster emulation IRQ5).

  • The HP Pavilion a6560z bios update

    I have a HP Pavilion a6560z. Product #: KZ851AV

I tried to upgrade the processor of double base installed to a phenom x 4 9550, that my research shows is compatible as long as I have updated the bios. I am currently running bios version 5.14 20/06/2008. My problem is the OS original on this PC is Vista, I erased this OS and now run Win 7. I found an update of bios, version 5.49 but she said do not be there except if Vista is installed. Will install this bios brick Council since its desingned for vista?

I can't enter the bios with the 9550 installed but it does not start in windows. The bios shows that it is a blah blah Phenom quad core, so at least he acknowledges that, but when I try to load windows it says "the file is maybe damaged. The file header checksum does not match the checksum calculated. "I read that had a memory problem and tried 8 different sticks, all with the same result, so I thought it was a bios problem. Anyway, any help on a version of bios, I can try without bricking advice would be greatly appreciated. Even if its for Vista that I am always willing to try. This pc is not much of value. Thank you.

    You are welcome.

Thanks for the quick response. Last question, if I could somehow reinstall Vista (system recovery is not an option) and then perform the bios update I was able to install windows 7 and then continue with the new (er) cpu?

I checked the page download software & driver of the computer for an update of the BIOS for Vista and Vista 64-bit.  It seems not to be available.  You cannot use a retail BIOS update.  Where did you find a BIOS update?

A new version 01.10 came out with these fixes:

-Fixes a problem that causes the display to become visually distorted (flicker).
-Fixes an issue where a system running Windows 7 with active hard drive encryption is unable to power (boot) after the BIOS is updated.
-Prevents the BIOS downgraded below the 1.09 version.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 BIOS upgrade question

    Hello

I have a toshiba satellite pro 6100 and currently it has 1.60 bios version and saw that the last update of the bios is the 1.90. My question is: is it question where I get the update of the bios of wheather it is from the site of toshiba UK or the United States, is the same bios update, or are they different? The other question is what I have to do the previous bios updates first 1.60 1.70 1.80 and finally to 1.90, or can I just do the 1.90 and who will have the previous updates in that one later?

    Hi Christian,

I normally prefer to get the update of the BIOS in the same country as I bought the laptop. However, given that the laptop was probably manufactured around the world, I don't think it bothers us really until the update is marked as compatible with your model of laptop. In principle, the update of the BIOS for the components of the laptop and is therefore more linked to the actual model in his country of origin.

It is not normally necessary load the intermediate versions of BIOS as BIOS is usually not cumulative but is provided as a complete package and includes all the code required.

    Kind regards

  • Portege M100 - blocked processor at 600 Mhz, have tried all BIOS versions

Just my BIOS was about 1.20 when I went to site Web from Toshiba to get the drivers to install and to found the update the BIOS so I followed instructions burn it to a disk, the last one I have and I went, but after the update, I noticed that xp says he was clocked at 600 MHz not 1 2 GHz.

So I used the cpuid to see if it is xp, but it shows as running 598,6 MHz processor and can flow to 600,4 MHz max so I went in the BIOS tried off sleep CPU max CPU and so restarted then I thought it was the xp so I reinstalled but still the same I used Suse Linux always the same.

I've reflashed the BIOS with 1.50 through the same restarted windows. I get on where and it becomes ridiculous, even, I went and found all BIOS versions on the US site of Toshiba, which dates back to version 1.10 to 1.50, so I tried all the. Nothing!

I am really puzzled that anyone can sort this is really boring and slow.
    Thank you in advance

    Hello

Just a question; the motherboard has been replaced by the past?

I know, after the replacement of the motherboard, the test & diagnosis must be performed in order to update the CPU microcode on the circuit board.
If the firmware is not updated your CPU would be stuck at 600 Mhz.

In order to update the firmware, the ASP must be contacted.

The other reason why the CPU runs only at 600 Mhz is the setting low processing CPU Toshiba power saver.
Check if the Toshiba power saver is installed on your laptop and set the options at a higher level.

    Check it out

    I have two questions:

However, it seems that I can't enter the BIOS more.

I tried several buttons, but it just won't let me get bios of the laptop more.
Which button to use to access the BIOS?

    2. I want to upgrade the standard amount of memory from 4 GB to 8 GB.
Are there recommended RAM sets should I use because of compatibility issues?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kind regards.

To access the BIOS press F2 at the beginning of the order started immediately after you have switched on the device, press F2 (press several times on the line)

Toshiba Satellite L500-1ZP laptop takes the type of RAM SODIMM SDRAM PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 MHz 204pin. I would recommend the manufacturer Kingston modules.

  • The BIOS version number and date on the Pro 6

Recently I had a Pro 6 and did the upgrade to OS6.5.0 beta RC2.

I ordered an Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 processor to upgrade the processor in the Pro 6 and did some checking to make sure I'm on the latest version of the BIOS.

    That's what I see in the bios_ver.log:

    / sys/Class/DMI/ID/product_version
    ::::::::::::::
    MB-FLAME6-26/07/2010 V2.0

    / sys/Class/DMI/ID/bios_date
    ::::::::::::::
    26/07/2010

    ::::::::::::::
    / sys/Class/DMI/ID/bios_version
    ::::::::::::::
    080014

It comes to this thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/BIOS-Update-with-OS-6/td-p/935323

    Q: I see this: "I have a Pro 6, 'ProductVersion = 2008-10-03 FLAME6-MB V1.6' ' bios_version = 080014", no idea if this can be improved? Thank you

A: the answer is Yes, it can be updated.

The question I have is why 080014 BIOS version is exactly the same, even if the '03/10/2008' and ' 26/07/2010' dates are different?

Is the date associated with the motherboard or BIOS?

What I really want to know, is do I really have the latest version of the BIOS installed because my CPU upgrade must be on the latest version of the BIOS.

    Thank you

The BIOS version is the date of x 86 ReadyNAS legacy. 26/07/2010 is the latest version of your SIN.

Hello world! Update my bios with bios update utility to version 3.23, and my problems began. First my t500 began to enter the mode "sleep" at random, after registration to the event viewer, it is ahci code 13. BIOS version / date f/34. 12-19-2014

On a previous occasion, I thought I already flashed the bios and I was wondering if I need to restore to the original version, or it turns out is a bit 'off '.

  • G7-2269wm Pavilion: update BIOS problems

I have a HP Pavilion G7, which recently had a bad encounter with a 'spill '.  Not at all turns.  I replaced the card mother and keyboard.  Now it turns on, but it does not boot to Windows.  Looking in the BIOS, I realized the version is very old and it lacks certain robot like legacy and UEFI boot of choice.  I am looking for a way to Flash the BIOS with a current version, but so far have not found a solution that would work in my case.  Is it possible to make a bootable media with the BIOS version I want to use and Flash the BIOS on the HP Pavilion?  I would appreciate any advice you can give.

Other things to note.  I remove the hard drive and disc control execution on him and he has no problem.  When I boot from a disc to install Windows on the HP with the original drive installed, I can access the drive through command prompt and see that the installation of Windows is intact.  The hard disk is configured for the GPT, and as the BIOS limited startup options, I came to the conclusion that the BIOS needs to be flashed.  Thanks for your time.

If the drive with another installation of Windows allowed me to launch the BIOS install package and Flash the BIOS with the latest version.  After it finished, I reinstalled the original hard disk and the computer loads Windows now on the original hard drive.  I thank very you much for your suggestions TheOldMan.
