HP Pavillion DV6: Updaing for Windows 10 knocks out audio Beats
Upgrade to Windows 10 and said goodbye to my audio. (souds like mutilated) Had to reinstall widows 7 and all is well again. How can I upgrade to Windows 10 and work around this audio problem?
Hello:
Because HP does not support your laptop for W10, the only suggestion I can offer is to try this IDT HD audio driver after upgrading.
This package contains the driver that allows to the Audio IDTHigh-definition (HD) in models of laptops that arerunning an operating system supported.
File name: sp63555.exe
He worked for laptops for some people, 6xxx/7xxx-dv6 and dv7-6xxx/7xxx.
If yours is older than the document (dv6-2xxx/3xxx/4xxx/5xxx), I don't know if this driver has a chance of working.

HP Pavillion DV6 - 8.1 Windows upgrade fails on devices to prepare
I made several attempts to upgrade my HP Pavillion DV6 of Windows 8 6b90eo for windows 8.1, all have failed. A few times I got the 0xC1900101 - 0 x 40017 but also the end not even. The installation fails during the step "Getting Ready devices" and 73%, the screen goes black, but turned on, and nothing happens for a very long time (I let it sit for several hours). I ve read a lot about the problem and I realize that I'm certainly not alone with this problem. I tried several ideas that I found all over the internet, including:
- Disconnect any external devices
- Install all updates via Windows Update
- Install the latest video drivers for my AMD Radeon HD 6770 m
- I m does not work any program anti-virus except Microsofts own Windows Defender, which I tried to turn it off, with no difference in the result.
Initially, the machine ran Windows 7, installed by HP. This has been upgraded to Windows 8 by me without any problems. So, I'm not under a version of Windows 8 own but an upgrade. I thought to install a clean version but if I understand the licensing for my requests of version upgrade that I have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and activating a clean Windows 8 install fails with my license key. Is this true?
The WindowsUpdate.log file is empty for the period between the computer restarts during the installation up to the crash to get the loan of devices. There is therefore no clues.
After a manual stop, after that the installation failed, it restores the previous version of Windows.
The computer has switchable graphics with Intel HD Graphics 3000 card, which many will report it as a problem. Don't know what to do about that though. Some have commented that I should try to uninstall all videodrivers for AMD and Intel without reboot the machine and then install Windows 8.1, what I tried haven´t. Microsoft recommend it as an alternative? I tried to update the driver but the Intel driver update utility indicates that the installed driver for the HD Graphics 3000 is a personalized by the manufacturer driver and that the driver may not be updated.
I ve checked with HP and they have not tested to improve the DV6 6b90eo to Windows 8.1 and accordingly recommend to continue running Windows 8. I have a hard time accepting.
Maybe someone at Microsoft for assistance? Y at - it files of newspapers that I can see and get an understanding of why the update fails? Y at - there anyone out there who have actually managed to upgrade the HP Pavillion DV6 6b90eo to Windows 8.1? If Yes, have you had difficulties, how do you have that solve you, or does the job of upgrading without flaw for you?
Thank you for your help and comments.
Hello Robert,.
Thank you for the update on the question and sorry for a delayed response.
If you can't update Windows 8.1, I suggest trying the steps by Vivian Samartha responded on April 12, 2014 in the following thread and see if it works for you.
If the problem persists after trying the above steps, I'll ask to follow the steps given by David Williams Dixon in the Blog below.
Something happened and the 8.1 Windows installation may not be completed. (And now you are bored)
We know if the steps help you in upgrading the computer to Windows 8.1.

HP Pavillion DV6: Recovery of Windows 7
Hello
I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV6 comes with windows 7 home Premium a few months ago, I upgraded to windows 10. I would go back on windows 7. Is this possible?
I tried the HP Recovery Manager, but I get a message saying that rebecca.exe is not approved. Tried to use the tool windows 7 installation support, but since the product key for windows 7 came with the laptop, I get an error before you download media.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
It depends on if the Recovery partition is still on the hard drive. When you look on the screen 'This PC' does show another named D: Recovery drive? If it is still in place, you can start recovery - which will reinstall Windows 7 as to how it was when new - and every thing will be back. Normally, you can start Recovery Manager by pressing F11 immediately by pressing the Start button. It would be better if you have saved important data to separate media before doing so.
Another way would be to use the set of diskettes of recovery that you should have when the PC was new.

Pavilion dv6: 10 for Windows upgrade fails Pavilion dv6 after update and entry of password
After updating my Pavilion dv6 Windows 7 64 - bit of Windows 10 64 - bits, the connection to the computer to update resulted in a machine stuck with white (gray) screen. The upgrade seems complete without any problems. It is only after a reboot with the machine being upgraded and after entering the password that the lock status was encountered.
You can see if any of the suggestions in the linked thread works - but DV6 succeed well in Win10, and if none of these work, you need to consider restoring to Win7: HP Notebook PC - computer starts but the screen remains empty (10, 8 Windows) | HP® customer support
I have a DV6 and after many hardships, restored to Win7 because I felt that an older OS where everything worked was much higher than a more recent OS where many things were "broken."
And there is no driver HP Win10 for the DV6.

Here's my hardware driver ID:
I use an Intel processor
Please answer as soon as possible...
It is the driver, you must install the smbus controller.
You can try this directly from Intel. You want the first file in the list.
If that one doesn't work, I don't have any other ideas you can try.

When will adobe Flash for windows RT come out?
I want to use adobe flash stuff
Flash is already on the RT of Windows, but only works on sites that have been authorized by Microsoft.
Only sites that are in the iecompatdata.xml will work, look here for an explanation http://thenextweb.com/microsoft/2012/11/05/how-to-use-microsofts-own-whitelisting-feature-to-enable-flash-on-the-metro-version-of-ie10/

Feature: Interested in a tool such as Smart Print for Windows? Find out!
The Safari 'Print Plus' extension mimics the selection of smart printing features.
You can install the extension by visiting the Safari extensions, then pick up the productivity.
Don't forget, this is a third-party application, so no problems with it would be very likely directed to the Apple forum.

Is there any official page of HP where the latest official drivers of HP pavilion dv6-6011tx for windows 8/8.1 is listed?
Page pilot multimedia HP Pavilion dv6-6011tx laptop lists the drivers for windows 7 (32 and 64 bit), but I seriously need drivers for windows 8/8.1 to 6011tx. Help, please.
Hello:
Your model is not supported for W8/8.1 by HP.
You should be able to use all the W8 x 64 drivers and software for this model.
DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK
I don't know if the graphics drivers works on W8.1.

No rumour of 'Service Pack 2 for Windows 7' - true or false?
Is it true that Microsoft refuses to release a Service Pack 2 for Windows 7 to try to persuade people in the upgrade to the new operating system of Windows tablet. Or is it just a rumor? If it's a rumor when Service Pack 2 for Windows 7 comes out? I have 235 + post Service Pack 1 updates on my computer. It is a bit ridiculous at this point.
It's just rumor, there has been no official statement from Microsoft regarding future updates and service packs for Windows 7.

No sound for windows 8 for laptop
Hi, my wife has a Samsung laptop with windows 8. The sound was working fine, when an update was made to the BIOS, and after that he didn't no sound. When you click for the sound or Realtek properties it says that the device is working properly, but there is no noise. We noticed that, in Realtek properties, the location is 0. We did a system restore, but it did not help. Please help how can I get her back.
Hello Bishray,
Could you try to remove the device in your system's Device Manager and restart your system, that help in some cases. You can do this:- Click the Windows + W on your keyboard at the same time
- Device type Manager
- Unfold the outputs and inputs
- Click with the right button on Realtek and choose uninstall.
Repeat this step for all of the devices named Realtek - Restart your system
The sound works now? It could take a long time for Windows to reinstall the audio drivers, if it does not automatically install audio drivers again try to add them manually:- Open the Device Manager
- Click Action
- Click Scan for hardware changes.
Let me know if this helps you.Yuri
