  • Vista message - unrecognized USB device

    Hello

    I get an error message "USB device not recognized" of Windows Vista.
    It keeps repeat sporadically.
    The problem is that I don't have any device USB attach or connect to my computer.

    Sometimes plugged in my Flash USB key device to file certain documents on my drive hard, but I immediately unplugged the unit once the task is completed.

    I used to have a printer Lexmark 1290 plug to my computer, but as it worked very well on Vista, I decided to unplug and remove the device in my printer Manager.

    I installed the latest Windows Vista Update, BIOS update, and all the drivers, but I always saw the messages.

    Does anyone have an idea of what could be my problem?

    Thank you

  • Envy brick and bought Sleekbook 4 PC recovery USB Kit helps do not...

    Everything first in detail:

    HP Envy Sleekbook 4

    C2K79UA prod # #ABA

    Version of the BIOS F.23

    OK, my problem. I never liked the Windows 8, which took over. Since people like @ HP offered no option to downgrade to this travisty of a BONE, I installed VMware Workstation on this laptop and done my job on a VM 7 Win. Everything was great.

    Then, I heard some improvements promised in a future release 8.1. I did my USB drive to restore system, like a good boy. I installed the version beta for 8.1 with the understanding that once the beta has expired I would just empty my personal files on my external drive and do a factory restore to my recovery USB drive I did. No problem, right?

    Recovery failed. Something something causing a panic in the system.

    Now, I should have stopped there... but... I did not. It would have been an easy way, and we cannot have. I noticed some drivers Windows 7 had been added to the page for my product. I gave that install a blow, but not, and probably my deepest hole dug and I most probably bluffing some partitions that I certainly would. Win 7 could not see the SATA, just the SSD drive, and I could not find suitible Win 7 sata drivers for installation.

    So, I went online and ordered the USB for my product recovery Kit.

    When I boot from it, I get the following:

    "Recovery not taken in charge to the title of the current configuration, please turn on the option for the Intel Smart Response Technology and try again.

    I see two options for Intel in my BIOS Enable/Disable...niether contributes

    I also tried with both enabled and disabled virtualization option

    I did the same thing with the help of the legacy.

    Ive tried with the default BIOS loading.

    Ive tried with boot secured on and outside.

    Ive has run out of memory and disk checks... all came back good... except the only player that he checked was the SSD, of course.

    Ive even tried to remove the SSD drive... and try to restore. don't ask why, I read in another forum, someone said this worked.

    Is the recovery USB disk I bought from HP not smart enough to load the SATA drivers and rebuild partitions?

    Is there another keyboard combo called the Intel SRT menu or settings in table?

    I'm not a novice computer, despite some of the errors above to the contrary. I guess I'm very noob in the new world SSD/HDD and layer the puzzle EFI. If you can help, I will be sin no more.

    Please... Please help and thanks in advance.

    Just thought I'd throw in something that I saw on another post. The owner he said "Delete all the keys to starting security" in the BIOS.

  • Impossible to create recovery USB Drive After Win 8.1 pass on Lenovo Twist

    "We cannot create a disc of reccovery on this PC. Some required files are missing. To trouble shoot startup of your PC problems, use your installation window or media disc»

    I contacted Lenovo who sent me a series of 4 recovery disks. These drives solved the problem, but it meant wiping the hard drive and reinstall the same thing from scratch. A new recovery partition is created and the disc reinstalled Win 8, which was to be updated. So to win 8.1 can be installed. Now, everything works as it should.

    Mark

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    Data recovery:
    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista software from the link above.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
