• Missing cartridges on Photosmart C4680 printer... It work?

  I have a HP Photosmart C4680 printer that appears in great shape.  It was given to me by a third party.  The two print cartridges and power cord are missing.  I have no idea if this printer will actually print.

  1. Assuming I can start her, is it possible to determine if it will print before you run out and spend the money on 2 new cartridges?
  2. Can I use a power cord to similar research?  I have one who comes from a different model of printer but seems similar.

  There is no way to determine if the printer print without cartridges from the printer. If the cord will work for the printer you use.

  I searched all day for a solution on my NEW out of the box (HP Photosmart C4680) printer.  I decided to use the scan option, so I opened the box and everything out of the box, remove all packing materials and tape, paper, etc.  Now, I plug the power supply cable (not USB), the printer does beep and a beep will sound and the screen comes on and power off.  It's just a blue screen that displays the logo of hp--(tours noir/arrêt et en arrière, encore et encore).  When I hold down the POWER button for 10 seconds, it turns off the printer (and the beep).  Turn it back on it does again ringing for about a half hour.  Then he turns to the language screen if he wants to, but the touchscreen works even not at all to select or scroll through the list.  And then if I open the door of the cartridge, the cradle only slips when he wants to and not all the time (certainly not when it beeps at startup pointing upwards).

  I tried to install the software in the hope that it might help.  But after hanging the printer usb cable once all the software has been installed, it is said that it recognizes not the printer or it is not be able to communicate with him.

  It is out of warranty.  Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

  But it's where I have a problem that says that Windows Installer has been marked for deletion. He wouldn't let me start the program. I looked in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.msi and the program wasn't there.

  Then, I am going to microsoft.com - found the msiexec.msi - began to install, but got the error message about DocumentViewer.msi not found.

  Now I am in total lost of what could happen and how to fix. I can't install my new printer and probally not something else. Anyone have any suggestions for me?  Thank you.

  HI - first time here - I have a HP Photosmart C4480 printer and have recently installed a new black ink cartridge - genuine HP 350XL - bought in Tesco and already used a few times.  I printed a page today, and when I went to another printing, the printer says that the cartridge was incompatible.  I had not touched the printer between the prints. I tried out both cartridges and resettlement but still get the same message.  Also tried to turn again printer.

  I could understand if there was a problem with the cartridge and it was rejected as soon as I installed, but does not understand why this happens between the printing of pages.

  Here a link to a document that addresses this cartridge error message that you get on the printer. It will give you troubleshooting to try in an effort to solve this problem with the printer. I hope this helps. If you reach the end of the document and have done all the solutions proposed by the document, would seek to substitute.

  If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out.   Bought new HP 3500 Pro tour MT series to replace the old tower HP Windows XP.  To use the HP Photosmart C4180 printer that I used with the old tower and have available HP solutions Center.   Data has been transferred from the old disk to the new HP Tower.  Then, I downloaded the printer driver and connected using the USB cable.  The printer will now print and scan but I can't find the HP Solution Center software that I used previously during scanning and photo editing.  I do not remember if I made a basic or complete installation install the driver.  If I do a basic installation and is not software for Solution Center, should I uninstall and reinstall the drivers for this function to work?  Would appreciate a step by step help to solve this problem.  Thank you very much.

  It's very strange that you do not see your printer listed in the list of programs (non - it would not be the framework of Solutions from HP Support).  This leads me to believe that your printer is not actually installed.  If that were the case, you should see something like this (note that I have more printers installed as a regular user )

  

  So you do not see your HP Photosmart C4180 listed here, then I would go and try to install the full driver.  The instructions in my previous post would be the same, but since you have Windows 7, it would be the right document to guide you through the steps.

  No, you can't. You need to analyze as searchable text and your photosmart 6520 does not have OCR software (when you bought this printer) in support. You can buy an OCR software.

I opted to leave it on and like that I do not lose excess ink. Now the red light indicating that you are in paper or a paper or door jam in the broken back remains open on and I cannot print.   8. Add a local printer with manual settings

  10. Use an existing port
  11. DOT4_001 (printer HP device)

  13. Under manufacturer select HP
  14. Under printers select HP Photosmart 8230 series class driver
  15. Next
  16. Select use the driver that is currently installed, or replace the pilot current (any)
  17. Next
  18. The printer name is click next
  19. Do not share this printer
