HP Photosmart via Remote Desktop

Hello

I have a problem with the help of a printer via the desktop remotely. Here are the details:

Printer: HP Photosmart C7250.

The local computer: Windows XP Professional, with printer installed via USB

Remote computer: Windows Server 2008.

An application on the remote computer is intended to print to the HP Photosmart local through through "Redirect" to the remote desktop. The application is intended to print with the courtier New police so that the spacing is all standard. "Print preview" shows this correctly, but when you actually print, it come out in a different format, screwing with the allignment... each letter is aligned left on each space. It's quite readable, just a little weird.

When we run the application on the local computer, it prints correctly. We want to print via the server because the application runs faster. Anyone got clues how to fix the police?

Thank you.

I finally thought to myself... In the preferences of printer on the local computer, I disabled the "advanced print options" checkbox It prints well now of remote desktop.

  • Can Ping but not connect via Remote Desktop - how to change the settings of the outside LAN adapter

I have a Windows Server 2012 machine connected to a Windows 7 Pro machine via a switch.

Internet is shared on the Windows Server and the port sharing network has a static ip address. Similarly, the port connected to the Windows 7 Pro has a static ip address. I was able to desktop Windows 7 remotely from the server without any problem until very recently.

Recently, I had to change some properties of the LAN on the machines and I was changing the gateway by default for the Windows 7 Pro, when I was hunting from my remote desktop session and I was not able to reconnect since. I don't know if I accidentally blew the subnet or the default gateway, but I know for sure that I do not touch the part of the parameters ip address.

In addition, I can't ping the server computer but I am not able to connect via RDP. Please suggest any possible causes and solutions for this case. Both computers are remote and I can connect via the internet to the server computer.

As my title suggests, I'm trying to find out if there is a way to reset the settings of the adapter LAN from Windows 7 to my server and proceed from that.

Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you.

  • MCE IR remote stops working when connected via Remote Desktop Win7

I recently added an IR remote for my computer to Windows 7 (32 bit Ultimate) that I use mainly for playback of mp3. The remote control is only an AVS Gear MG-IR01BK Windows Vista/Window7 MCE Remote control infrared works by attached USB "infrared transceiver eHome.  When I physically connect the machine IR remote works perfectly; as soon as I connect via remote IR Office stops responding.  I had to configure the Audio remotely to RDP to get this to work correctly, but I can't find any setting that controls in response to the infrared remote control.  My quest for answers has turned up nothing so far, someone has suggested?

Thanks for the suggestion.  At thegreenbutton.com behavior that I have reported was confirmed by others (the MCE Remote control is a HID device, so is related to the "console"). VNC is a viable alternative to remote desktop. I ended up using TightVNC (RealVNC purchase required for support of Windows 7), and the infrared remote control continues to work when I access the machine via the VNC viewer.   I want to remote desktop could provide this capability, but at least I have a working with VNC solution.

  • Unable to connect to computers via Remote Desktop on the VPN connection.

I have a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory network. Connect you to it remotely using an appliance, Sonicwall TZ170 VPN/Firewall DHCP pointing our internal DHCP server so we do not use the Sonicwall DHCP over VPN.

The area has been recently rebuilt completely charge and the VPN connection was stronger than it has ever been when connecting to computers on our network for the first 2 weeks. In the last few days, however, people had problems connecting on our desktop computers. They can connect to some but not to others, and in the case of a person who needs in particular access to a computer, it can not connect to it all.

I don't think it's a VPN issue but something to do with the DHCP/DNS/domain controller server. However, I am not able to locate the problem.

In the past, this same thing was a problem before I took over. We had just a matter to the inconsistency of the connection until I thought I had solved the problem (however short-lived the fix was) with the refurbishment of the domain controller.

Customers are a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7.

Any ideas? I will provide all the information I can.

  • Screen 5600ea - completely black HP Omni 10 after crash while on the remote desktop connection

I hope someone can help me with this.

I had updated my Omni 10 to Windows Pro 8.1 so that I can Office remotely on my tablet on my work lan to get the benefits of the 2013 Office (we have not this version to work) on my work PC.

Anyway, while it is connected to my 10 Omni via desktop remotely my Omni 10 crashed after connecting a USB drive that is powered via a USB OTG adapter. I used the front adapter without any problem with the USB card readers bus-powered and also the Lan USB card so I know it works, and the outlet powered USB hard drive works on my PC without any problem.

The Omni disconnected from the remote desktop, and I guess it crashed, but the screen is black even when I hold down the power button and wait for the vibration (which usually means that it is set to zero).

There is nothing displayed on screen, my work PC is unable to connect via Remote Desktop, and any number of power cycles seems to relive.

I tried with the attached Omni 10 charger and without.

There is no HP logo involve restarting at any point, but the Windows key infiltrates a vibration when I push on it.

While enjoying the fact that the Omni 10 comes with the base Windows 8.1 and not Pro so I changed the configuration it worked fine for a few weeks since the installation.

Pointers on getting this thing to life would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I returned to the store that I bought, and they sent to HP for warranty repair.

28 days ago so I went back to the store and they gave me a brand new boxed 10 Omni processor.

When I got home I installed the driver and Windows updates. I noticed that the WiFi reception was really bad, even right next to my router, and the cameras had lines on the screen and the pictures that I took.

The next day I went back to the store and they said all that and they initially said that I have to wait another 28 days, while it went for repair. When I said that this was not acceptable, they gave me a full refund of the amount that I had paid and used that to purchase a Pro of Microsoft Surface.

The Microsoft Surface Pro is fast, well doneand more importantly everything works.

  • Client VPN blocks inbound connections from remote desktop?

I am running Vista x 64. To connect to a VPN Windows via the built-in VPN client works except that it seems that all incoming connections from the local network (including remote desktop) are blocked.

Is this a known problem or design? It is a problem for us because the computer that is running the VPN client is a virtual machine running in hyper-v, so accessible by users via remote desktop - only connection to the console of the hyper-v Server is not an option.

    Are there alternatives?

It sounds like the question to split the tunnel . On the VPN client you can enable/disable split tunneling. See this article for help with that.

  • Home network works great, remote desktop will not connect.

I have a Windows 7 laptop and a Vista laptop. They are connected to a secure wireless network. Both work very well as standalones. When I try to connect via Remote Desktop or connect with each other. My 7 is in a homegroup with a single name. My Vista is in a WORKING group with the same name. I can't connect either using remote desktop. Computer for both names are names of a single word, 'XXXXXX', not the format xxx.xxxxx.xxxx and I can't figure another way to their name. I spent 2 days serching various tech forums and tried what they suggested.

    Hello

Homegroup is a unique feature of Win 7. It uses IPv6.

As you connect to Vista you must configure Windows 7 to the home network.

    ------------------------------------

Network Win 7 with another version of Windows as a work network (works very well if all computers are Win 7 also).

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

    ------------------
Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please Note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled).
If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic.

If you end up with the 3rd party software uninstalled or disabled, make sure that Windows native firewall is active .
