Can Ping but not connect via Remote Desktop - how to change the settings of the outside LAN adapter
I have a Windows Server 2012 machine connected to a Windows 7 Pro machine via a switch.
Internet is shared on the Windows Server and the port sharing network has a static ip address. Similarly, the port connected to the Windows 7 Pro has a static ip address. I was able to desktop Windows 7 remotely from the server without any problem until very recently.
Recently, I had to change some properties of the LAN on the machines and I was changing the gateway by default for the Windows 7 Pro, when I was hunting from my remote desktop session and I was not able to reconnect since. I don't know if I accidentally blew the subnet or the default gateway, but I know for sure that I do not touch the part of the parameters ip address.
In addition, I can't ping the server computer but I am not able to connect via RDP. Please suggest any possible causes and solutions for this case. Both computers are remote and I can connect via the internet to the server computer.
As my title suggests, I'm trying to find out if there is a way to reset the settings of the adapter LAN from Windows 7 to my server and proceed from that.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Thank you.
RAM.

Can ping but not connect to the system in real time
Hi all
I have a funny glitch that has arisen recently. I have a PXI chassis running an RTOS that I am able to reach with LV and MAX when I sit on the local network. I have the chassis in a DMZ, so she is directly exposed via the external IP network. Recently, I had to reformat the hard drive and now, for some reason I can't access the system via MAX or external LV (I have before). I ping the instrument, but it seems not respond with MAX or LV there is no error on the target and the target is not currently a start of VI. Someone at - it ideas?
Thanks, m
NM - I don't know what was going on, but everything seems fine now... I had the wrong IP today.
For those who are interested, this is a report of nmap on intellectual property will look like if you do a scan of 1-10 k on a PXI chassis located on a DMZ (I'm not pass all other ports, but some ports such as 80 react on the machines on the network):

MCE IR remote stops working when connected via Remote Desktop Win7
I recently added an IR remote for my computer to Windows 7 (32 bit Ultimate) that I use mainly for playback of mp3. The remote control is only an AVS Gear MG-IR01BK Windows Vista/Window7 MCE Remote control infrared works by attached USB "infrared transceiver eHome. When I physically connect the machine IR remote works perfectly; as soon as I connect via remote IR Office stops responding. I had to configure the Audio remotely to RDP to get this to work correctly, but I can't find any setting that controls in response to the infrared remote control. My quest for answers has turned up nothing so far, someone has suggested?
Thanks for the suggestion. At thegreenbutton.com behavior that I have reported was confirmed by others (the MCE Remote control is a HID device, so is related to the "console"). VNC is a viable alternative to remote desktop. I ended up using TightVNC (RealVNC purchase required for support of Windows 7), and the infrared remote control continues to work when I access the machine via the VNC viewer. I want to remote desktop could provide this capability, but at least I have a working with VNC solution.

Hello
I had a quick glance around my system because I think it has been compromised. Today, I noticed something I never saw before a "Remote Desktop connection" icon in my documents - time created yesterday - at about 20:00 - 08/04 when I was not on the machine and certainly don't remember updated anything.I went into control panel / system/distance and unchecked boxes related to assistance remotely etc. Is there anyway that anyone can access my machine remotely? or how would I know if they have? The sudden appearance of this icon and the calendar has caused me some alarm. I deleted it + at the present time, it is in the trash. I did it because it gives an error when I try to save changes to settings that do not allow access.Someone could give me some advice please on what this could be and how I can assure any remote access to my pc. (Windows XP / wired ethernet via Bt Home Hub connection) Thank you.HelloIf you think that your computer is infected with malware, try following the steps 1 and 2 in this virus/malware removal guide: http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/malware-removal-guideIt contains instructions which will remove the malware more. Unable to connect to ESXi via vSphere Client after you change the setting LAN card
Dear friends,
I changed my setting of the NIC (from 100 M to 1000 M) via VMware vSphere Client. And now I can't connect to my server ESXi. Because I can not connect to the ESXi server, the network card user interface of the parameters provided by vSphere client is not available. How can I recover it? Thank you if someone could help it.

I can receive but not send emails and already tried the tips of help page
Hi, I just changed my Apple Mail to Thunderbird and I with my two suppliers (a University for work-mail server) and an e-mail provider in Germany for private messages, I can receive but not send messages. I tried everything on the "can't send messages" page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-message, it doesn't work.
I use Mac OSx Sierra on a Macbook from 2012. Thanks for your help!
These parameters appear to be good. It is rare that someone looking for help provides useful information you have with these screenshots. Awesome.
Cannot send mail has a bit more troubleshooting info.
Make sure Thunderbird is in online mode, not in offline mode: click on "file-> Offline; "Work offline" must be unchecked.
Temporarily disable anti-virus & firewall and test sending.
Disable all modules of Thunderbird and test sending.
Beyond that, I am unable to help him.

Windows 2003: Explorer does not properly without remote desktop
The following image shows the screenshot of Windows Server 2003, when connected using Remote Desktop connection, using the administrator account.
If I connect without Remote Desktop, means going directly in my server room, and then log on by using the same administrator account, as you can see in the following screenshot, no office, no taskbar. But, I can press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to run the Task Manager.
I have to wait very long for the office and the toolbar displayed. The problem occurs only when not using remote desktop to open a session.
How to solve this problem, without having to reinstall Windows?

Client VPN blocks inbound connections from remote desktop?
I am running Vista x 64. To connect to a VPN Windows via the built-in VPN client works except that it seems that all incoming connections from the local network (including remote desktop) are blocked.
Is this a known problem or design? It is a problem for us because the computer that is running the VPN client is a virtual machine running in hyper-v, so accessible by users via remote desktop - only connection to the console of the hyper-v Server is not an option.
Are there alternatives?

It sounds like the question to split the tunnel . On the VPN client you can enable/disable split tunneling. See this article for help with that.

Note the security ramifications...
In addition, I can not comment on this issue and a virtual machine, so as always YMMV...

Is it possible to copy a file from my computer to my local computer using remote desktop? I have easy access to my computer to work at home, but can't be able to understand how to copy a file from one to the other. I have files on my computer that I want to copy in the local (home) one and or copy - paste or drag - move do not seem to work.
I would be able to do using LogMeIn or Citrix, but prefer to use remote desktop. Does anyone know if RD has this ability?Have you enabled access to disk drives?
- Click Start, point to all programs (or programs), on Accessories , and then click Remote Desktop connection.
- Click Options, and then click the local resources tab.
- In the section local devices and resources click moreand check the discs (expand if necessary) and then click OK.
Note also that...
