Hello

If you find a compatible cart for the SSD, it should work out of the box. However, as you mentioned the port of optical drive could only be a SATA II port. This will certainly work, but the speed could be limited to SATA II only. I suggest you get the SSD as drive in the main Bay and the original hard disk as the storage of the data instead of the DVD-ROM.

  • HP ProBook 450 SSD cold start problem

Hello. I recently bought new HP ProBook 450 H6P53EA with SSD (SanDisk SDSSSDHP128G) included.

After the first commissioning of this message came:

    "Boot Device not found.

"Please install an operating system on your hard drive."

    "Hard Disk (3F0).

I just thought about it it might be true that the laptop came without OS (probably SUSE there, but I did not even notice) so I went just to install Windows 8.

Everything works fine and I am very satisfied BUT

my laptop is turned a few hours every time this message and the operating system cannot be started.

After pressing enter short menu appears (with memory/disk check options I think) and I'm heading directly at the exit and when it starts up again everything seems to be ok.

After reboot or a short period of time when the laptop is liquidated everything is always very well. So, it seems that the problem only occurs when the laptop is down for several hours. All possible solutions?

    Thank you.

    Hello.

I want to improve my drive 750 GB (5400 RPM) to Samsung EVO SSD 250 GB and 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM, but I don't know which model will fit for my HP probook 450 G2 Intel i7 5500U 2.4 GHz. Maybe someone help me?

Buy the same type of memory you have in the picture.

    The SSDS works perfectly.

You have the option to add a card SSD m2 also.

  • ProBook 450 G3 (T3L12UT #ABA): you can add video card for G3 450 Probook?

    Hello

I am looking to buy a Probook 450 G3, a model that only comes with the integrated graphics card.  I see that in the manual a dedicated graphics card (if I read correctly) is an option for the laptop.  I wonder if anyone knows if this can be added later on (for example I am on a budget and cannot afford the model without a dedicated graphics card, but may be able to upgrade down the road)?

    Thank you

    Phil

    Hi, Phil:

There is no provision to add a chart 'card' in your laptop as you can with many of the PC desktop.

On most laptops, the GPU are part of the system board.

Dedicated GPUS have a system of separate graphics memory of PC system memory and can also use part of this memory system if necessary.

In order to have a graphics system dedicated to your laptop, the card mother together would be so should be replaced with one of those enrolled in the service including the switchable graphics feature manual.

This would be very expensive and labor intensive.

Only the most expensive mobile company HP workstations may still have different available graphics cards.

  • ProBook replace 450 G1 HDD/SSD

    Hello

I want to upgrade my ProBook 450 G1 E9Y39EA with an SSD. So my tought, I have replace the HARD original with the SSD drive and I take ot the optical drive and I put the HARD drive in place, through a Caddy. But in my understanding, the height of the optical drive is 9, 5mm, while the Toshiba HDD (which comes with the s) is about 10 mm (0.4 in).

So my question, is this a problem, or the HARD drive will fit just right?

    Thanks in advance!

Not exactly. The HARD drive will fit in a caddy ODD of 9.5 mm.

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You have the right idea. In the caddy/adapter optical drive is not bootable and will roll at a slightly slower speed, still good enough for storage crude but does not for the operating system running. Put the SSD in the computer and the old HDD in the adapter optical caddy.

  • G3 ProBook 450 (p5s63ea): Probook is g3 450 compatible bx100 Crucial SSD 120 GB

    I bought g3 ProBook 450 (p5s63ea) and changed 500 GB HDD to 120 GB SSD Crucial bx100.

    And I have following problems:

    (1) bios does not see SDS each time. I tried to reboot several times SDS, place the drive back hard, and sometimes he'll see. If she begins to see I can install Windows 10 on it and if I reboot or shutdown 10 correctly portable windows will see SDS all the time and there will be no problem.

    (2) problem arises when I do sleep for laptop and wake him up. When he wakes he appears with the picture, but hangs and does not allow to enter the password. If I remove the obligation to enter the password after waking up upwards Win 10 wake up in windows, he hangs up after 2 seconds. I tried many solutions, I found here about problem of awakening, but nothing helped.  If he hung up only remains to press on the button / stop for 3 seconds and stop feeding, but after that arrises problem 1 - notebook see SSD with operating system.

If I install the same copy of windows on the original HARD disk 10, he wakes up after sleep perfectly. Crucial Bx100 has lates firmware mu02.

Therefore crucial bx100 120 GB SSD incompatible with g3 450 probook?

Solved this problem by buying a new SSD on slot m2. It seems to work and wake up stable.

Know this subject publish when you plan to upgrade HDD 2.5 "SDS. At least not all SDS is compatible with mobile HP.

    In response to your questions:

    • Laptops of professional quality are equipped with sensors of finger prints for the same reason that consumers rank models offer the feature - biometrics are a method very popular to connect to your computer without having to type a password.

SimplePass software runs on quality consumer laptops.

    • Security of client software runs on the professional quality laptops.

Both programs offer some of the same functions.

    Options

Install and run the Client Security

    OR

    If you run Windows 10

    and

If you only want / need to connect to the computer with your fingerprint

    then

You can set a PIN code and then activate the fingerprint reader to log that ships with the operating system Windows 10

    Start / Windows key > settings > accounts > Sign-In Options > PIN

Add or remove fingerprints - 10 Windows logon

    OR

If you do not want to install / use the Client Security software on your computer

    and

you do not want to be able to connect to (most) sites without having to type a password,

    then

You can buy a password management program

If you want, you can combine security software and password into a single service manager.

  • ProBook 450 G0: 10 Windows will not sleep or Hibernate or start properly

    Hello!

    Hello!

Recently I did a clean install of windows 10 and I have a problem I forgot my past experience with this version of windows: my system is unable to go to sleep (or he can't wake mode 'sleep') or Hibernate.

Example of situation: I put the system to sleep, it shuts down (the power button blinks always - it's what he does when the laptop is in sleep mode) and when I press the power button (or click on my mouse) system does not. Either he starts as a fresh start (as no "sleep mode" has never been there) or the screen goes black, stay like that for a while and then stops (and, of course, when I open it again it is like a new beginning).
I never met such a problem on all other versions of windows. I did almost (if not all) of the suggestions and tutorials on the internet about it. The BIOS is up to date, so is my driver chipset with the rest of my drivers. Is it possible to fix this? It's the only thing that will make me return to windows 7.

    HP ProBook 450 G0 with:

    Intel Core i7-3632QM

    Graphics Intel HD 4000 / AMD Radeon HD 8600 / 8700M

    8 GB RAM

    SSD 240 GB KINGSTON SV300

PS: I found this link where I discovered that the decommissioning of the bios to an older version would work, but I can't find versions older for my laptop.

I have not upgraded to Windows 7 to 10. I did a clean install and I manually installed the drivers for the AMD and Intel video hardware.

I found how to solve this problem by making this upgrade of repair: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_install/how-to-perform-a-repair-upgrade-using-the-windows/35160fbe-9352-4e70-9887-f40096ec3085
Someone who has the same problem, I had perhaps try this method, as any other internet method did not work for me.

    Thanks anyway for your answer!

  • ProBook 450 - second series of recovery media, blue screens windows 7 (win 8 okay, not the hardware problem)

    I had a new HP probook 450 G1.

Immediately, I swapped the 750 GB for one SSD drive and tried to install Windows 7 from the recovery media. The operation has failed. Contact HP support, they sent new media.

I used new media. Windows 7 operating system installed. As soon as I install the drivers, the PC goes in a loop of the blue screen.

I can install the chipset drivers and wifi. Don't know what the other driver is causing the blue screen. I can also install from the windows media 8, so this isn't a hardware problem - wife hates just windows 8.

Basically, please either give me a few troubleshooting steps or I'll go back to the PC. I'm NOT insterested in a manual process long to determine which driver is the problem and the recovery download media manually the drivers one... should work.

After you have reinstalled the original 750 GB hard drive with the replacement media, I managed to an attempt to "recover". So, I decided to sit and try, by the process of elimination, all drivers.

It turns out that the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver was causing the problem. When I installed everything BUT that, the laptop works very well. Notice that I use a fairly new SSD Crucial of M500. It is quite possible there are other people out there see it. You really need to install the driver of rapid storage technology, it is fast enough - not not even 100% sure what good to give the driver.

So I gave myself wrong guidance by the initial recovery of defective media. The second group of work recovery media, but the version of the driver intel 12.7.3.1001 does NOT work with the Crucial M500. I checked the Intel site for driver downloads, and it was not clear that they have a newer driver appropriate right now. Maybe someone else can tell?

    Hello.

I wish to upgrade a HP ProBook 450 G1 (E9Y25EA) with an mSATA SDS (32 or 64 or 128 GB).

The motive is to migrate the operating system to mSATA.

I will keep the HARD drive for the rest of the data.

The OS is Windows 7, and it is possible to upgrade to Windows 8 or 8.1.

Can anyone in the HP forum update me if the specified ProBook can be improved with a SDS mSATA?

Is there only a HP recommended vendor or brand (with model number) for the desired capability mSATA SDS?

Where can I find a procedure for this upgrade?

Are there known risks and complications for this upgrade?

    Kind regards.

    Here is your Service Manual:

It doesn't seem to be an mSATA slot in the computer. HP did not offer an mSATA option, just regular mechanical controls or a SSD to 2.5 inches.

This always occurs after the laptop remained for about 15 minutes.

You need to perform a test of battery status you can do by pressing F2 when you rewind upward to enter diagnostic mode. If you are out of warranty and the laptop is older than 2 years, the first thing we think of battery problems are that the battery is old and needs to be replaced.
