HP Toolbox utility

I recently updated my system to Windows 7. My k5400 printer driver works, but I can't find the window box at HP tools to monitor my ink level. Reinstalled the software of HP but still unable to locate the Toolbox window. ???

Hello

Be sure to install the software of HP Toolkit below:

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-79598-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4062&product=2511767&sw_lang=

Check the ink levels can be done as follows, so you can check under start > HP and open box software to HP tools:

  • Help! HP Toolbox does not work under Vista

    When nearly two years ago, I added a Vista PC to my network, I found that the HP Toolbox software - necessary to monitor the level of status and toner for my LaserJet 1320 - wouldn't install or run under Vista.  I contacted HP and they told me "us working on this and should have a new version available soon.  I regularly, come back and still would get a similar response.  Now that I replaced my last XP machine with a Vista computer, I'm more in need of this utility than ever.  I sent HP Technical Support and I was told ' sorry, pal, but you're out of luck.  The 1320 is no longer a current model so can't stand us it anymore. ' (With a strong commitment to customer support, I'm surprised they even bother to release the drivers!)

    Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

    After reading some other forums, I found that when you print a Test page through printer menu options, the page displays the ink levels.

  • utility library error function string?

    I'm working on a library Error Handler, slaughtered most of these wonderful for a (Roberto!).  I can't find a generator of string of code error for the functions in the library of good content (in particular, functions like RenameFile, CopyFile, GetDir, SetDir, MakeDir, all file IO functions).

    Most people refer to types of maximum error tolerated with some explanations of plain text.  But there is no mention of a nice string code converter function, as it is in other libraries.  For example, for the RS232 library, there are GetRS232ErrorString.  Formatting & IO Library, there is GetFmtIOErrorString.

    I don't see it somewhere?  Inside the library of utilities, there is a function called CmtGetErrorMessage multithreaded error code.

    You are right: the library of Urility does not include a function that translates into a meaningful text error codes. I guess that it is due to the fact that error codes overlap in part, so a single function could not be used.

    For example, the-1 error means file not found in almost all file IO Library functions, but it translates into no file found matching the criteria of research GetFirstFile (), for not more files in GetNextFiles () and invalid parameters in MakePathname ().

    Another example: error-2 means GetFirstFile must be called before if returned by GetNextFile () and resulting path too long if returned by MakePathname ().

    And cela given that e/s file section of the library!

    While developing my own toolbox of utilities, I created the following function I know is far from perfect and covers only the file IO features:

    char * CVIFUNC GetULibFileIOErrMsg (int error)

    // Messages associated to error codes returned by functions in File Utilities class in Utility Library
    {
        switch (error) {
            case 0: return "Success";
            case -1:    return "One of the path component not found";
            case -2:    return "Resulting pathname longer than 260 chars";
            case -3:    return "General I/O error occurred";
            case -4:    return "Insufficient memory to complete operation";
            case -5:    return "Invalid path";
            case -6:    return "Access denied";
            case -7:    return "Specified path is a directory, not a file";
            case -8:    return "Disk is full";
            case -9:    return "New file already exists";
            default:    return "Unknown error";
        }
        return NULL;
    }

  • Multifunction LaserJet 1536dnf printers: HP Toolbox does not work after update of Windows 10

    My HP Toolbox worked very well and I was getting a fax to my computer until about a week ago. After the last update of Windows 10, HP Toolbox does not start little matter what I do. I tried to run as an administrator and tried to start through the command prompt, but nothing helped. I want to be able to receive faxes on my computer, but I don't know how I can do without the work of the box HP Toolbox. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times using the latest version of the software on the HP site and tried to install it with the original disc supplied with the printer but nothing seems to work. Toolbox HP will install, however, it won't work. I tried the diagnostic tools and I tried to run it in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to work. Someone please help.

    Hi @Alphas,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    There is corruption on the computer.

    Try the following steps:

    If the problem persists: please create a new administrator account and reinstall the software.

    • Load the HP utility?

    NOTE: Windows 10 user accounts:

    standard user (Users) - the standard account is a limited user unelevated account which can be a local account or a Microsoft account. It can help protect your computer by preventing users from making changes to the system that affects everyone who uses the computer. When you are connected to Windows with a standard account, you can do almost everything you can do with an administrator account, but if a standard user tries to do something that requires high rights (ex: run as administrator), Windows will display a UAC prompt for the standard user to enter the password to an account administrator for approval and confirmation before allowing the action.

    administrator user - is an administrator account unelevated which is created by default during installation of Windows, or is already set up for you on an OEM (ex: Dell) computer. This account can be a local account or a Microsoft account. An administrator account has full access to the computer and can make changes. If a user administrator is trying to do something that requires high rights (ex: run as administrator), Windows will display aUACprompt for the user administrator approval before authorizing the action.

    Built-in 'Administrator' - the hidden built-in high "Administrator account" is a local account that has unlimited access to the PC. By default, the 'Administrator' account is not invited by the UAC. Everything that's running while it is connected to the 'Administrator' account also will have full unrestricted access to the computer, so it is not recommended to use the built-in for daily use "Administrator" account. It is recommended to use only the account 'Administrator' integrated as necessary instead.

    Otherwise I would be 'restore from a system restore point' to the help of this guide, options recovery in Windows 10 or contact the HP support by phone.

    Contact HP for service in all countries except Asia-Pacific.
    What you can do, is to use the following link to create yourself a file number, then call and it can help to expedite the appeal process:
    Step 1. Open the link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
    Step 2. Enter the product number or select Auto detection
    Step 3. Scroll up to "still need help? Fill out the form to select your contact options.
    Step 4. Scroll down and click on: contact HP options - click Get phone number
    File number and phone number are displayed.

    Please reply to this message with the results. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • How can I get a compatible with Windows 7 for my laserjet 2550L color Toolbox?

    I've upgraded to a Windows 7. Available through windows driver print with my printer laserjet 2550, but I find it anymore a tollbox to help maintain the printer. I tried HP support with no luck. Is there a link to the Toolbox that is compatible with windows 7 somewhere?

    I kept looking for many problem reports and eventually found an old recommendation to install 'HP Easy Printer Care software'. It is a utility for managing multiple printers and it is compatible with windows 7. This was also abandoned in download of HP. However, I found someone who uploaded (with a few seeds to download, so I list as the third). Works good utility and at least gives the status of the printer, the cartridges, and alerts. He has all the tools maintenance as the Toolbox, but it is useful. If you have a similar problem, you can try to search for HP Easy Printer Care software.

  • Run the utility Chkdsk does not solve my problem. What should I do next?

    I'm running an Excel 2007 worksheet by using the extensions both on a zip drive .xls and .xlsx.  I tried to open the two files on my PC at work, using Windows XP SP2.  I received the error message that "Excel cannot open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid.  Check that the file has not been damaged and that the file extension matches the format of the file. "I ran the utility twice using the following process: desktop > click the drive where the file > properties > tools > check now > will search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.  When the disk check process is completed, a dialog box appears that reads "check disk is over."  No exit code was given at the end of each race.

    What should I do now?  BTW, I ran the Recovery Toolbox for Excel.  Read message "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.  Please run the Chkdsk utility."

    Thank you

    Yogi,

    You should always start your own thread, even if you think that your problem is exactly 'the same' as the issue raised by the original question.  After all, if you have had exactly the same problem, you should be able to use exactly the same solution and should not be asked.

    The data retrieved by chkdsk may or may not be usable.  The simplest data - for example, a plain text file - the more likely a file retrieved will be usable by the appropriate application.  More complex data - such as files created by Excel, Word and Powerpoint - may lack the essential elements of the formatting of the data that can make the unopenable file.

    That said, you need to rename a data file retrieved with the extension (3 or 4 characters after the dot) appropriate for the application you want to use with the file.  For example, if you see a file named Dec12Letter.chk, and you know that it is a Word file, rename it to Dec12Letter.doc.

    For Excel files, use .xls and Powerpoint, use. ppt.

    If you are using Office 2007 or 2010, use 4 letter extensions: docx, xlsx, pptx instead.

  • missing Toolbox

    I had a computer crash and had to reinstall from a mirror image, before the crash, I had a Toolbox HP installed on my windows 7 32-bit computer, but since this plant it disappeared from the suggestions to get it back and it is worth?

    My printer is a HP Deskjet D.2660.  If I install not cannot see how do you check the ink levels and perform other maintenance operations.

    Reinstall Windows 7 full feature software for your printer back the utility features.

  • Printer Toolbox

    I have an all in one premium c310a printer. I can't open the Toolbox of the printer in the HP Solution Center to check ink levels and to clean the print head. Also the solution Center does not show ink levels at the opening of the center of my PC solution. Can anyone offer a solution to this problem to allow the Toolbox open?

    First step: clear temp directory

    1. Type %temp% term or search programs and files of field

  • hp deskjet Toolbox

    I tried to find a place to download the printer software toolbox and it is not found!  the "utility" software is simply a ' let me help you install your printer ' program and my printer is already installed and using the latest version of the driver.  so now, where I'm supposed to find the commercial printer Assistant who don't cartridge alignment and cleaning and control of ink levels, etc.  I am disappointed by the customer service of HP at 100%: no cat, noemail, not anything - you are left HIGH AND DRY and day after your warranty runs out.  It says on there level of appreciation for their customers!

    Hi seonken,

    The Toolbox is part of the complete set of software features and the driver. There is no feature complete software avaible for this older printer on Windows 7. The only available software is basic driver through the operating system that does not include the Toolbox software. See the following document below.

  • DeskJet 970 - no Toolbox HP in Windows 7 driver

    It seems that now I've upgraded to Windows 7, I'm not finding the same level of printer features driver for my old-but-still-working-perfectly Deskjet 970.   For example, where is the utility to display the ink level estimated with each cartridge?   The printer driver "in the OS" seems to be Sub optimized compared to the provided HP driver that I had in the previous operating systems such as Vista.   Is it because HP can not be bothered to provide a suitable driver for this printer on Windows 7?    They are trying to subliminally to force me to buy a new printer?

    Hi splinternet.

    Although your HP product works essentially the same with the driver the operating system (OS), you will notice some differences. One difference is that you will not have access to the same HP Toolbox. However, there is workaround solutions available for tasks that are usually performed with the HP Toolbox.

    Workarounds for HP Toolbox
  • Pulling hair, Center solutions HP, cannot start, impossible to check ink levels (no Toolbox)

    I got this job a few months ago. Now, I can't check on my D1560 printer ink levels, I don't know when this started to happen. I checked the forums and trying different things:

    make the level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4 uninstall,

    remove all Hewlett, Packard, HKLM > software > HP, deskjet d1500 Ceres in the registry.

    removal of all HP * files in windows > system32, windows > syswow64 folders

    I tried windows xp x 64 installation in compatibility mode, removing

    try HP Print utility of diagnosis - it crashes whenever I start it...

    Installation always goes smoothly, it installs all the software (I choose only Center of Solution + driver) and asked to plug, which I do, and it installs the drivers and says that everyhting is successful. Then I click on the solution Center and it says: cannot run because your installation of the device is not complete!

    What's wrong???

    And also when I go to the control panel > devices and printers > D1560 > Printer preferences > Services, there is not button to check ink levels. Only alighn cartridges and cleaning cartridges. (hp Toolbox is missing). I have same HP solution, I just want to check the ink level, because there is no other way to do it.

    Is there a replacement maybe program that can tell me the ink levels?

    Operating system: windows 7 x 64

    Connection: USB

    Printer: D1560

    Drivers: USB print media: 6.1.7600.16385, HP Deskjet D1500 series, x 64, Type 3 - User Mode

    Software that does not work: DJ_SF_03_D1500_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    For some reason any it started working today
