  Having trouble getting my printer to work with windows 10. Do not really need the full software on this PC so just print driver would work. I downloaded OJ_AIO_P8500_A909_Full_Win_WW_140_408 - 5.exe several times and I still get the same results after installation. I'll follow the instructions you sent me and am running the OneCare security right now, online scanner that I already know an excellent and effective tool because it has repaired my MS operating system and programs after that I accidentally deleted parts of the operating system by removing a .dll file, I need or such a thing! I also wanted to thank you for the information about the object of the HP SDP pop-up window. I saved your instructions on how to remove this case, the pop up appears again. One thing I noticed is that, after removal, some keys on my keyboard don't work, and I've read that other HP users encounter the same problem with the keys on the keyboard. The keys that seem to be affected are the keys that automatically open and close the door of the CD burner. Not a problem, because it is another way to open and close the drawer. It's one that HP must improve. In regards to your advice on the printer driver you have been 'right on' new! I reinstalled the driver using my own CD (not the latest driver, but one that works!) I think that the problem with the update of the Samsung driver that I downloaded from the Web site doesn't have some kind of problem. It is very unusual for a driver to Samsung, because I got excellent results with printers Samsung and free updates downloaded from their Web site.   Last week, I bought a new printer multifunction Epson XP-830.  I have used Epson before without problem.  Can't get the driver to load.  Has been able to load the scanner software.  Driver is not displayed.  I think that the computer sees the right printer cannot find a driver that loads.  I loaded the driver for the Epson web site.  The drive, they sent me will not read in my drive.  I spent a lot of time on the phone with Epson troubleshooting - in the end, he said to call Microsoft... I feel I'll send this printer back.  I have disable check verification in the wind, it was an unsigned driver.  When I ran windows update - the 830 do not show upward well that several other models of xp has.  There was a generic of the 800 series and I tried this - it loaded - but it did not work.  Very frustrated.

  The symptoms you describe its pretty strange.  You may be correct that the unit you received is defective.

  Recently, I have not run Windows Update to update the list of printer drivers on my Win 7 system, so I do not have drivers from the Epson XP series on this system.  However, looking at the Windows Update Catalog indicates you're right: there are drivers there for XP - 800 series, XP-810 series and XP-850 series printers (as well as upper and lower XP series), but not XP-830.  Here is what I expected appear in the list of drivers when you use the "Add a printer" Wizard after running Windows Update.

  However, Epson has an available for download driver for XP-830.  Have you downloaded the printer driver or you downloaded the "drivers and utilities Combo Package Installer?

  For Windows 7 32-bit, you downloaded epson16387.exe (combo package installer) or epson16463.exe (driver only).  What file did you, in fact, download?

  Also bizarre is your statement that ' the disk they sent me won't play in my player. "

  • Wasn't there a CD supplied with the printer?  If there was, what happened when you tried to use it?
  • What exactly happens when you insert the CD they you sent in your drive?

  The first time you tried to install the printer, if using the CD supplied with your printer or otherwise, did you make sure that the printer was NOT connected to the computer until the next DAY, the software has been installed?

  At this point, you have all the printers installed on this computer?  In other words, if you click on the round to start and go to devices and printers, which icons appear, in the category 'Printers and faxes' or in the category "not specified"?

  Maybe someone can help with this confusing problem. Just bought the T400 w/Win 7 64-bit on the Lenovo Web site. That's great, except for one thing.

  I have a ThinkPad T22 of Win2k on the network with a port parallel printer HP laserjet 6L and a port USB HP DeskJet 970cxi. When I go to add a printer to the T400, Win7 search on the network and detects printers. For the 6 L have downloaded a driver and it works fine. For the 970cxi, he tries to find a driver MS website but can not find a driver.

  When I connect the970cxi printer directly to a USB port on the T400 Win7 it finds a driver and it works fine. But not on the network? Even after he found a pilot when it was connected locally?

  The network is a Linux Debian machine that can print on both printers. I turned on printer sharing on this topic. The T400 can find printers in the Linux box and print 6L and 970cxi.

  I loaded VirtualBox on the T400 and then install Ubuntu Linux. The Ubunu Linux can find printers and print at the same time.

  I googled this and found others with the same problem. I tried the solution and it worked!

  2. click on add a printer.
  3. Select "add a local printer.
  4. Select create a new port ". Select "Local Port" as the port type.

  5. in the "Enter a port name" box, type the address in the following format.

  And then click Next.

  6. choose the driver in the list of drivers. If no driver available, click the Windows Update button, wait the process finishes and then search for the driver again.
  7. complete the installation.
