hp15go13: dual-band for hp 15-go13cl map

I have the HP15-go13cl and unable to connect to the 5 GHz band.

Can I replace the wireless card, which is a 2.4 ghz for a card with 5 GHz dual-band?

Thank you.

Yes, you could but yours is part of the new wave of models that are very difficult to service. See page 55 of the manual here:

Your manual

No wireless cards listed is a model of 5 ghz 2 x 2, but the good news is your doesn't have a whitelist BIOS so you can install any wireless card "half-height" pci - e of the same size as those "official."

I recommend this model of Broadcom

Please be advised that enter into the bowels of the laptop put security at risk. If you go there and do it without hurting anything, fine, but HP won't bail you out under warranty.

  • Need new card for Qosmio X 870 dual-band wireless network

    Hello world

Need help, need we know of a wifi with Bluetooth and dual band card that is able to be used in the Qosmio X 870, as the Realtek wireless card is dead and rather than putting a single strip of card in I was expecting a double band with Bluetooth solution.

    Any help would be great.

    Hi Nick,

I think that you misunderstood Timox post a bit more.
means no expandable laptop computer from the manufacturer (in this case Toshiba) does not support the upgrade of WLan.

Of course the WLan module can be removed because it s a removable miniPCI module.

However, I discovered that the Qosmio X 870 series was equipped with various modules of WLan cards.

For example, the X model 870-152 Qosmio use it * Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230 802.11b/g/n* module.
I think that this WLan module could be used and must also be compatible.

    Hi there @tiggerchris

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are looking for help on how to replace your existing wireless network adapter or add something to support the 5 GHz band. I'm happy to help you with this.

Service and maintenance guides available and put at level of guides for this system offer no wireless adapters. The simplest solution I can suggest would be an adapter USB dual band WLAN.  There are many benefits to this choice. It is easier to install, it's easy to transfer to another device if necessary, and they can be very economical.

I'd say a bit of research online for this type of device, to see what is available.

    I hope this helps.

I'm running g6-2052er and would like to buy a double router broadband, but discovered that my computer laptop 1y.o. does not support. Hello:

You are right about the white list of BIOS locking all the cards not supported wireless.

Here is the link to the service manual for your PC.

Chapter 3, page 17 lists the cards supported wireless.  None are dual band.

  • Need a dual band card WiFi AC for Probook 4530 s

We have several laptops ProBook 4530 s (less then 2 years) in our society (product # A7K05UT #ABA) provided with stock simple strip cards and will not recognize the 5 ghz band.  I have a 5 yr old DV5 which has an Atheros card that recognizes them both and a DV7 new desire that I just put an Intel card in which works perfectly.

When we put the Intel card in the Probooks - at startup, BIOS flashes instantly that it will not recognize the card with a 702 error.

I can't believe that HP would be intentionally block the ability to update their products.  The ProBooks run the latest BIOS Upgrade and have no driver card dual band listed.

Does anyone know a double card strip 2 x 2 with BlueTooth that works?  Or y at - it an easy way to unlock this paralyzed from the BIOS?

If this upgrade problem cannot be resolved - looks like we get a different provider of portable computers.

All THE news will be welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello:

Yes, unfortunately, there is a BIOS "whitelist" on this model that locks the unsupported cards.

HP seems to have put an end to this practice recently (maybe in the last year or so), as consumers have indicated being able to install any model wireless card they please.

This helps any questions with the 4530 s.

According to the maintenance manual, Chapter 3, the card only dual band with BT that works is the Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 - HP 636672-001 part number.  This isn't an AC card.

Due to the restrictive nature of the BIOS, you should also get this card with HP number thereon, or it won't work.

I checked the HP part store for availability, and HP has more article for sale, so my recommendation would be to look on sites like eBay and query by part number and buy a card used, but tested and functional.
