  The problem has been that bad, I have installed the software.  You must go through a stop, taken modem, start and run the Setup program in that order.  It's all working now, thanks for the reply.

  I suggest you todownload and reinstall drivers related devices (modem, system chipset and possibly Basic Input/output System (BIOS)) of the manufacturer's Web site.

  Sorry, I don't understand this sentence right at all. You need two things to
  Send and receive faxes: a telephone line and a fax modem. You say that you have
  a telephone line, which is one of the two things you need, not something
  preventing you to send or receive faxes. But you don't say anything
  on the question of whether you have a fax modem.

• Can send but cannot receive faxes on HP Laserjet on Mac 10.9 Mavericks with answering machine TAM

  I have an iMac running OS 10.9 (Mavericks) and a machine to print/scan/fax all-in-one HP Laserjet Professional M1212nf MFP connected by USB.  I have a phone with answering machine connected system.

  I can send faxes of the HP and the Mac (using the pdf fax).  What I can't do, is to receive faxes on the HP (I know that the Mac cannot receive faxes with this machine).  I tried all the combinations of parameters without result even unplug the phone/answering machine without result.

  Any ideas what I need the settings?

  It is definitely a head scratcher! I found some additional information from the following link, you use a product of Fax HP with a telephone answering machine (TAM).

  I found this interesting presentation text, when recording the outgoing message on your TAM, share of voice must be at least 10 seconds of time, but not more than 20 seconds . Save 5-7 seconds of silence at the end of the vocal part of your outgoing message (message coming out would be your voice message length plus the extra 5 to 7 seconds of recorded silence ).

  We had no problems on a windows xp computer that allows us to receive faxes until moving this week.  I reloaded all updates and rebooted several times and the phone company sees no problem of line, but we continue to see the "an error occurred when the fax is received" suggestions

  I understand have wrong setting to the top of your MFP HP LaserJet Pro M127fw with a dedicated fax line. I'd love to help you with this.

  First, you use a regular analog telephone line? Or your phone line go to a router or modem (VOIP)?

  NOTE: HP fax devices are designed to work with traditional analog telephone services. They are not designed to work with digital phone such as ADSL services, PBX, ISDN or VOIP. However, they could work with the appropriate settings and equipment.

  Here are some settings that you can check to make sure that your printer is set up correctly to pick up all incoming calls on this line.

  Turn on the answering machine:

  1. in the home of the printer screen, select the Setup icon on the top (it looks like a key).

  2. Select Fax Setup.

  3. Select Basic Fax Setup.

  4. Select Answer Mode.

  5. make sure that it is set to Automatic.

  Make sure that your ring type is set to all rings:

  1. in the home of the printer screen, select the Setup icon on the top (it looks like a key).

  2. Select Fax Setup.

  3. Select Basic Fax Setup.

  4. Select a distinctive ring.

  5. make sure that it is set to all rings.

  You can also configure the number of times that you would like to ring before answering.

  3. Select Basic Fax Setup.

  4. Select rings to answer.

  5. choose the desired number of rings that you prefer.

  Have 2 comcast email accounts. 5 days ago, that both has ceased to receive emails through Thunderbird on my laptop. They work on the comcast site. As if by magic one of the email accounts started getting yesterday - no problem.

  The other is still "stuck" and DO NOT receive emails via Thunderbird on my laptop; I can send emails without problem. Of course, it's my main email account. Comcast checked the settings and could find no problem on their end. Gave me that a number of their center of insurance of security but so far cannot get them to take my call. sigh seems strange to work and the other does not; essentially same settings for both.

  Help appreciated.

  According to Bruce, OE has no spam or junk folder, so this file is likely on the server.  Sign in to your e-mail via webmail account and then look for a folder spam or junk e-mail on the server and you can delete the Junk there.

  Sounds to me like the malicious software that you have installed ruined some files of Windows and even if you think you've fixed the infection, the files are always broken.  If this happened to me, I back up all my data, collect all my kits installation of software and product keys, then wipe the disk and reinstall everything, restore my backups of data later.

I removed all mail rules and blocked senders and I still cannot receive anything.  I tested it by sending a mail to it through different accounts (gmail, yahoo) so I know that there must be some messages.  I also had people reply to my email that I send to what they do, but I don't get their answers.  I have 2 computers in place, using Windows XP and the other is Windows Vista.  I've never had a problem until now. Any help?

  My server contacted me and told me to check my spam using their webmail account, because it was full.  It seems that when I used the rules of the mail I had clicked on delete from the server, just "do not download".  My spam folder was so full that I couldn't receive. Thanks for all your advice!  Mark as resolved.
