HP50g equation writer

I'm trying to reproduce the task of moving an algebraic of the display to the writer of the equation. The HP48s/sx was capable. I looked through all three PDF files that are provided on the CD with my calculator.

I tried to copy some algebraic time in normal view, goes to the author of the equation, then stick but can't get that to work. Someone knows how to do this or there HP decided that was not a function that should be retained?

Hello

As you ar familiar with 48 s/SX, I assume you are using the 50g in RPN mode.

With the equation in level 1 (low) battery, press down, money the equation should open automatically in Equation Editor.

  • HP50G equations w / complex real Vars & solve for reports of Vars

    Hi guys. I have 2 questions.

    1. given an equation with a variable complex and variable real in it, I want to solve for both variables. Here is an example

    Given:
    ∠120 has° + jb =-4 + j3

    Solve for A and b.

    Answer:

    A = 8
    b = -3.93

    I know it's possible to solve by hand because A is true and b is complex. But I don't know how to do this on the HP50G because the equation has two variables inside.

    2 it will probably be a bit more complicated. Saw 2 symbolic equations, I want to solve for the report of two variables with respect to the other variables. Here is an example.

    Given:

    (X Z) / Q + (X - Y) / (X - Y) + R / Q = 0
    / Q (X - Y) = Y/R

    Solve for Y/Z depending on X, Q and R

    Answer:
    Y/Z = [/(Q+R) R] ^ 2

    I'd be very impressed if anyone can understand these out or already knows how do the following.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    (1) :

    It's my approach:

    Settings of the calculator:

    -angle mode: radians (required for the Solver)

    -coord system: rectangular (my choice as it fits x + y * i).

    -Digital and about unchecked

    -operating mode: RPN

    -Flag-27 value complex display that x + y * I

    First angle must be converted to radians, 120 deg = 2/3 * PI radians (PI can be entered as WhiteShift SPC).

    Enter ' (A, ∠2/3 * PI) + B * i =-4 + 3 * I '

    I use 2/3 integers to facilitate the exact mode of address, shortened to ∠ is ALHPA, redshift, 6.

    That the calculator is in rectangular mode, it will be transformed into rectangular.

    You should now have:

    A * COS(2/3*PI) + A * SIN (2/3 * PI) * + B * i =-4 + 3 * I

    Now, press ENTER to duplicate the equation.

    Go to WhiteShift MTH, CMPLX.

    Select RE for the real part:

    A * COS (2/3 * PI) =-4

    Press SWAP (silver arrow)

    Select IM to the imaginary part:

    A * SIN(2/3*PI) + B = 3

    You should now have 2 equations on the stack (the real part of level 2) and the imaginary part in level 1

    You can now put them in a table (2,-> TABLE) and use the Solver to solve for A and b.

    NOTE: when you use real numbers instead of integers, you may use the digital Solver of multiple equations MSLV (NUM. SLV). This requires a set of initial parameters i.e. guess (see Chapter 7 of the great user's Guide or MSLV AUR).

    (2) :

    You cannot resolve Y/Z directly. However, you can solve for and there, Z , then simply ÷ to get Y/Z.

    Level 2: [(X-Z) / Q + (X - Y) / (X - Y) + R / Q = 0 (X - Y) / Q = Y/R]

    Level 1: [Y - Z]

    S.SLV, point 6 or F6 to SOLVE

    Will result in a list or a table that contains solutions for Y and Z depending on X, Q and r. use OBJ-> once or twice to put both equations separately on the stack, then press fracture for Y/Z.

    Note, you can change the representation of the solution by the factor or simplify (best way to find who is to press down arrow money to enter the Equation Editor, select the right side of the eqation then de FACTO or SIMP).

    I hope this helps.

  • Questions write equations to existing variables in Hp 50 g

    Hello

    I'm studying for the exams in June and I'm writing long equations in my HP (algebraic, std, degrees, rectangular), but whenever I try to write a new one, if there is a variable with the same name, it displays its value, not the name I typed. I know this may sound confusing, but here's an example:

    • I do an exercise and I'm saving the following equation: A = B + C (for example).
    • I use it and I begin a new fiscal year.
    • In this exercise, I save the equation: B = C * E * R/T, but when I try to save in a variable, it changes the letters B and C for their values. So if I want to solve an equation with different values of B & C I can not because they do not appear on the equation 'solved '.

    I know I can clear all variables before writing a new equation, but it's a pain in the ass, is there a good way to do it?

    Thank you.

    You not need to use this method to purge.

    your first equation must be entered this way: (use equation writer or the command line)

    "" A = B + C ".

    STO > "EQ1".

    (for this example, when "the equation" was performed for the equation A = B + C, a 8 value was entered for 'B' and a 9 value was entered for 'C')

    NOW THE IMPORTANT STEP... (this step is not necessary in RPN mode... In RPN mode, simply enter the equation using EQW or line commmand is also normally done)

    When you enter the second equation, this can not be easily done using the equation editor.

    To easily fix the problem to get into the second equation and keeping variables unadulterated into the equation, you must enter the equations on the command line.

    Start with a single quote... This indicates the 50G an equation will be entered

    When you enter the variables that were previously used... put single quotes around these variables...

    for example:

    "« B » = « C » * E * R/T"

    Press ENTER

    your screen should look like this:

    now

    STO > "EQ".

    Enter "The equation" and the variables used before are shown with their values pre-filled... but all the variable can be changed...

    NOTE NOTE: If you want to change the equations in this window, use the right CHOOS button, select another equation in this example, it is called EQ1... (The CHOOS softkey is available only when the equation is highlighted as shown in the screen above)

    Press CHOOS, and see the following:

    Select EQ1 and press F6 (OK)

    now, the screen changes:

  • HP 50 g EVAL error: internal error CASES

    I'm trying to use the EQW Solver to solve a formula that uses the sigma notation.

    n
    Σ (a + i (b - a) / n)(b-a)/n.
    I have = 1

    When you try to solve for the proof I get the indicated error.
    Does anyone know why such an error occurs? Is there a problem with the symbolic notation or a bug in my HP 50?

    When you enter the initial problem of the summons, you must enter an algebraic equation.

    If you use the equation writer and enter the summation symbol as shown:

    the 50G will not enable the lowercase letter "I" entered as the summation variable (where the arrow is at in the screenshot above).

    Also, FYI, some branches of engineering also recognize the lowercase letter 'j' as the symbol of a complex variable instead of the letter 'i '. It has to do with the bad hand writing and the letter 'i', similar to the lowercase letter "L", etc... so you can avoid using 'i' tiny or low case 'j' in the equations at least that specifically refers to a complex number ('i' tiny for the equations of 50G only). However, in your present mathematics classes it may not be of concern.

    If I understand the mathematical order of precedence indicated in your displayed equation, with some necessary changes to the variable of summation your equation should look like the following:

    Enter this equation in the battery, then press EVAL.

    If you want a different form of the same solution, run FDISTRIB

    set the CORRECT mode and do of course-2 flags and flag - 3 is deleted (constant-> symb; function-> symb) for this equation - see the reference to advanced for the function ∑ users.

    There are a few possibilities to condition some materials for AXIEM frequencies.

    Please see the attached project. Output equations write a few equations and are drawn to help define the equations. the STACKUP does NOT use these it is just for debugging purposes.

    For some settings, you can enter a frequency dependence, this example is it for Er and TanD.

  • FrameMaker-> XML-> FrameMaker questions

    Hello

    I have currently about 150 pages fm submits, that were originally unstructured, but I managed to make a structure of work for her. There are mainly paintings, which have references, images, graphics, tables and internal stuff, so all normal technical document. Reason I'm structuring it and what about XML is that we have another file XML where we will add data in this document, and currently, it is done by hand and we want to do it my machine. These things are done by the magic of programmers who can better c-related speaking in tongues English.

    I can make the XML of this fine, so that the XML that is created is valid and structure looks like, it is very well copied as XML. Graphics, images and internal tables are currently inside anchored like graphics frames, since they were something similar in the informal document and read/write rules that transform images EPS, because internal tables do not work like SVG, I prefer otherwise, because it is also the XML and anchored frames have some links referring to other parts of the document. SVG would be also easier to manage in programming (or so I think) as the EPS. If anyone can think of the best way to do this, I'm open to suggestions.

    Question now is when I opened this created XML in FrameMaker, it loads first half-hour (computer is Intel T2500 2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, computer laptop XP Pro SP3 and FM is version 10), then displays the 9 error pages records concerning 'framemaker cannot insert table (cell) at the current position cell' and then document appears as 600 to 1000 pages 'masterpiece' where 150 pages seems normal but after this first page If displays of new and tables is presented as a column in the page. It was suggested that if the file is created by FrameMaker, FrameMaker it would open normally, but apparently this is not the case.

    Reading/writing-rules currently look like this: (if it is useful at all)

    {"Table" element

    is the table fm "Table" element

    }

    element {"TableHead"

    is the fm "TableHead" table header element

    }

    element {"TableBody"

    is part of fm "TableBody table body."

    }

    element {'Row'

    table fm line item is "Row".

    }

    element {'cell'

    is fm "Cell" table cell element

    }

    cross reference fm 'HRef' element's "HRef";

    element {'Row'

    is the element of row in table fm 'ROW '.

    }

    'Cell' is fm "CELL" table cell element

    element {"Graphic"

    is the graphic element of fm;

    writer anchored frame {}

    export to file ' $(entity) .eps "as"EPS ".

    specify the size in pt;

         }

    }

    element {"Equation"

    is fm equation element.

    export equation writer to file ' $(entity) .eps "as"EPS ".

    }

    There are some things that might look odd for some people. There are a few conditional text in FM submit and without rules as

    'Cell' is fm "CELL" table cell element

    XML is not valid against the DTD.

    I'd appreciate any help. I can also provide other files here, but due to NDA reasons, real document is no-go, but I think that if the structure is needed to see, the DTD is very good.

    Ian, Russ,

    As you probably know both, it is perfectly acceptable to have multiple rules read/write for a type of item. In this case, the rules include:

    element {'Row'

    table fm line item is "Row".

    }

    element {'Row'

    table fm line item is "ROW".

    }

    or

    element {'cell'

    is fm "Cell" table cell element

    }

    'Cell' is fm "CELL" table cell element

    The first pair of rules said FrameMaker when it creates XML, FrameMaker and PLACE items that both are output as an XML line items. The second pair of rules said the items FrameMaker and CELL are saved as XML as cell.

    When there are several relevant mappings, FrameMaker uses the first to appear in the rules of r/w. When is the reading of XML documents by using these rules, he could map a line XML line or LINE item and a cell to cell or CELL. Since mixed case of these two rules version appears before the version all uppercase, when reading XML, FrameMaker elements with the same name as the XML namespace it creates.

    Ejlamsa,

    Your FrameMaker EDD has both row and LINE (cell and CELL)? If this isn't the case, you can remove rules for the types of items you don't use.

    Insofar as the error messages and the wrong document when you open XML, Ian is quite correct that FrameMaker needs to know the number of columns there are in the table. If your DTD does not yet of this attribute, the simplest solution is to add a. It is possible using a plug-in or script to create columns as needed, but it's a lot more effort.

  • Write an equation in JavaScript for a loan agreement

    Hello

    I can't put an equation in the form of JavaScript. I'm trying to calculate how much a loan will cost a fixed interest for a period of time.

    So we have the equation: estimated current value = (1 + InterestRate) ^ LoanTerm

    With the fields in my form, I think that it would look like this: Ttl = AmountFinanced (1 + rate) ^ NumberofPaymentsRow1

    My JavaScript for my form named "Ttl" currently looks like this: AmountFinanced * Math.pow (1 + rate, NumberofPaymentsRow1)

    -Unfortunately, it does not return a value, and I'm out of ideas. I don't know where I'm wrong and any help would be appreciated.

    javahelp.png

    You get the errors arise?

    Have you checked the JavaScript console to find errors?

    The custom JavaScript calculation option requires the complete JavaScript coding and is not a front-end process collection of treatment parameters as the first calculation of two options. You must write the JavaScript complete not one shortened.

    JavaScript is an object oriented language, you will need to connect to a domain object until you can access the value property of the field. You must use the 'doc.getField (cName)' method to acquire the field object.

    You must also specify the target or object where you want to place the result.

    Event.Value = this.getField("AmountFinanced").value * Math.pow (1 + this.getFieldI "spleen '") .value, this.getField("NumberofPaymentsRow1").value);

    Note that JavaScript is case-sensitive for domain names, function names, variable names, etc.
