Previously, I was able to scan without any problem.

I solved the problem in two simple steps.  Uninstall the HP printer software and reboot.  Re printing software - install the HP and reboot.  It worked twice, when all the other more elaborate steps have failed.

I have a Photosmart 5520 series printer - I've had it for almost a year now.  I've always had no problem printing or scanning.  Out of the blue today, he scanned a letter from offbeat page 3 warped.  I decided to turn off the printer and turn it back on.  Then he started giving me this message:

Scanner communication cannot be established.  Photosmart 5520 series [4EABA] is currently unavailable.  Make sure that your device is turned on, check the connection and make sure that your network is working properly.  If these conditions are correct, restart the device and try to scan the image.

I rebooted a number of times, even tried to leave the app scan to desktop and back on, checked the WiFi connection, all good - still get the same message.  I found an ad on this site with HP Scan doctor, but it was only for the PC, and this House is 100% Mac.  Help?

(LAN on the router or wireless) network printer? You have DHCP on the router (it is by default) and whenever you turn on the printer, the router can give it a new IP address, and it will cause "communication error" because the computer looking at its in-memory data cache, is still talking to the printer on another address. You will need to wait a few minutes for the computer to re - discover the printer, or simply restart the computer.
If you know how to assign a fixed IP address on the router, do that it can avoid a lot of headaches like this.

According to the error message, it seems like test software communicates with a different printer than the CM1415.

Open the HP Scan 3 application, located under Applications > Hewlett-Packard.

Click HP Scan in the top menu, then click Preferences.

Be sure to select the HP Laserjet CM1415 drop Scanners, close its window and click on the scan button.

  • HP Deskjet 2540: Scanner Communication cannot be established.

My scanner does not work. I am connected by USB. I've tried everything suggested by HP print and Scan doctor. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software for the device, but it still does not work. I'm very angry because it worked fine for 3 months. I went out of town for the winter holidays and took my computer with me. I left my HP Deskjet 2540 to my apartment. Now that I'm back it no longer works.

Here are the mistakes doctor analysis gives me:

    Driver error:

The scanning driver is unable to communicate with the product.

    HP Scanner Twain error:

I followed the steps, he told me but even after restarting the computer of the Scan Doctor is unable to solve the problem and he just told me to come here and ask online. I really need this scanner set as soon as possible for my work in the classroom. It is very frustrating that my HP Deskjet 2540 broke shortly after buying it.

Too bad. Solved the problem by changing a connection of 3 USB-a USB 2 connection. For some reason any Scanner HP Deskjet 2540 cannot use via a USB 3.0 connection.

I don't know why it is exactly, but that's what I did and now it works.

  • HP PSC 1410 all in one printer scanner does not work

My printer, HP PSC 1410 all-in-one works fine as a printer, a scanner and a copier until I had a virus and had to reformat.  I have the original HP for the printer drive, downloaded the software undated and have loaded, deleted and reloaded the software 20 times.  The printer and copier works well.  Microsoft appears saying that scanner drivers are not certified, etc. and I can't scan to work.  I had put in hundreds of hours trying to get this to work.  I am 71 years old and I already have the computer work for my company 18 years ago.  My inability to solve this problem that bothers me more than anything else.  I need some young soul to help me that whip.  I don't buy a new computer or upgrade to Windows 7 until I fix this.  It has become a challenge, but I need help.  Kenny:

    Hi KennethPlaisance,

Method 1: HP has created an update to update the driver to scan and fix the problem. Check if it helps you to fix the problem.

I'm trying to interface a new HP laptop that has a 64-bit (HP Pavilion dv6-701) operating system and running the operating system Windows 7 on a HP All in one series F310 printer / Scanner

HP staff helped get printing to work via a 6980 HP printer Driver software download, try to download the software 310 driver didn't work so we tried this driver 6980 credits and print function works now

However I can't scan a document on the laptop of the 310, when I attmpt one scan, I receive an error message

Given that the printer uses a generic driver and is not a software that is supported on Windows 7, you can scan only programs such as paint, Windows Fax and Scan and image viewer.

The Hp Solution Center does not open. When I double click to open it a message indicating "no HP devices have been detected. HP Solution Center will close now. I tried to uninstall the program and then reinstall it with no luck. Nobody has solved this problem?

Thank you for your concern. I contacted HP through a chat session and received the information below to try to remove and reinstall. Well so far it seems to work. If someone else is having a similar problem, they should at least try this method.

Here are the steps to manually uninstall.

    (1) unplug the printer from the computer or network.

    2) click on the Windows button on the computer.

    (3) type folder in the box and press ENTER to open it.

    (4) locate and click 7zs2b7.tmp file to open it, if not, check for any file starting with 7z.

    (5) open this folder and then find the Util folder and open it.

    6) double-click the CCC folder to open it.

    (7) double click on Uninstall_L3

NOTE: For 64-bit, the uninstall file will look like and Uninstall_L3_64 for 32 bit, it will be Uninstall_L3

Now, restart the computer and reinstall the driver software of all the features by using the link below.

The document reads "HP Officejet and Photosmart full feature software and drivers.
