HPE H8-1070 UK

I brought the HPE H8-1070 UK PC World of office and according to the specifications of what it must have blue-ray multi player.  The said real drive tray has blue-ray and lightscribe.  There is no software to play Blu - ray discs or no lightscribe or cd writing program.  I don't know if it's all versions of this model, but mine and the view model are the same.  PC World are that sort out for me.  But I wanted to alert if someone else had the same problem.

Hello

You want to tell us what PC World done to correct problems?

    Hello

After trying to run ESXi on my laptop computer in a virtual machine and not having a lot of success, I wanted to just take the plunge and put little money down to get a half decent machine that will help me on my way to a virtual laboratory.

I've seen a HP machine with the below form.

    -Processor Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz 2nd generation
    -8 GB memory DDR3 (PC3-10600)
    -HDD 500 GB-7200 RPM

I want to run to at least

    -Cisco Unified Callmanager 7.1

    -Cisco Unity Connection 7

    Then finally add

    -Cisco Unified touch Center

-Microsoft Windows Server 2008 - Active Directory

I just want to know if the above machine would be a good starting point, and then look at level looks like RAM or hard drive.

I agree mcowger and thank you for the reply, definiately for a complete site deployment would not a production server. However, for the moment, I'm looking to have this as a platform for reading/laboratory.

Oh.  For a lab - absolutely.  It is very good.

If I'm spreading the budget - just to know the type of material I want to start, which would be a good platform to start (maybe on shelf towers etc.)? I saw HP Pavilion HPE h8-1070... would it be an acceptable point to start?

The first thing to check is compatibility - I would recommend looking at material from class server used on craigslist or ebay - a lot less trouble comatability forst.

Something like that would be an excellent choice:

  • How to add to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk Usb 3.0

Hi does anyone know if I can improve my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk for usb 3.0 and if so could you recommend a product that I could buy to do this.  Thanks in advance.

    One of them check it:

    http://www.overclockers.co.UK/showproduct.php?ProdID=CC-003-AK

This is to use a pci-e x 1 card. You have 2 these slots available. This will show you how do:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02255267.PDF

See the section on the replacement of a card.

Instead of plugging on the long black slot which is a video card plug into one of the slots black short. You have Windows 7 I think which means that you will need a driver, but that should come on a CD with the card. Will need you a power connector (molex) on the map, too.

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-500f desktop PC - I would like to upgrade food, video card and hard drive. Can I use a SATA III hard drive? Can I use a 4 Gig ATI video card? Those are the weak links in this computer in the measurement of performance, Windows 5.1 index. The ram has already been updated to 16G. I would use a hard drive WD Black edition.

    Thank you!

You can use a SATA-III HDD but the 785G chipset only supports SATA-II. You won't see any difference, and the SATA-III is backward compatible. You have a 300W power supply. You can put in a better and with a minimum 500 or 600 watt PSU, you can install any videocard, pcie 16 x which will be in good physical shape. In retail offices, there is simply not as much space as in a custom build Tower and best video cards these days are huge things two locations. Don't forget, it fits with room to spare, or you will have problems of air circulation.

Anyway... have tried to find an image of Windows 7 Home Prem OA HP on the HP Support site so that I can recharge/reinstall once I replaced the discs.  Probably a good time for one SSD drive.

So where can I find the Windows 7 image for this server, HPE-270e?  What STINKS - I've just upgraded to Windows just 10 a week back but will deal with it once I get my system back up and running.

Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.

Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.

You can try to contact the HP customer directly, using the links below, to see if you can order them if:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

If HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

  • HP pavilion hpe h8-1020: evga geforce gtx 950 in hp pavilion hpe h8-1020

Hello guys I have a hp pavilion hpe h8-1020 and I am looking to upgrade to a nvidia gtx 950 is it compatibile, what I need to supply?

    Hello

There is a unknown specification for your motherboard that will prevent you from installing a new 3.0 PCIe x 16 graphics card. Maps 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe x 16 2.0 slots. Your motherboard may have a PCIe x 16 1.0 slot. None of these options below works on your PC if you have PCIe x 16 version 1.0

The Radeon HD 6570, an option to purchase, is a PCIe x 16 card USB2.0. You can have a 2.0 slot. It is unclear when we look at the characteristics of HP for your PC.

I got a HD 6570. You could not install drivers from AMD with the version of HP of this card. You need to use the HP drivers. It is possible that this card is not a 2.0 card even if the consumer version is a USB2.0 card. We can only guess.

MSI is rolling out hybrid Nvidiacards soon. Try anything tangible yet seen. NVIDIA is slowly releasing the 1000 series cards that require less power. Maybe some OEM will also include hybrid versions that will work on your PC any time.

The 900 series Nvidia graphics cards need the UEFI BIOS.

Your PC has a legacy BIOS.

You have a 300 Watt power supply. You will have to upgrade from food to run a card AMD and respect the strict minimum if you can install a TG 640 GDDR5 map.

You may be able to install (you need a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0) Nvidia 600 series cards or watch hybrid of AMD cards by Sapphire.

AMD cards are longer and require larger power supplies.

You should check that you have the power and the room to install two graphics cards. The cards are also double slot. You will need to verify that you can install a card double slot. Even once, you need a PCIe x 16 slot on the motherboard 2.0.

    See you soon!

  • Z640: Upgraded the video card to 1070 GTX. I have to upgrade power supply?

My Z640 has a supply of poer 925w but the power plug 6 pins only I think remaining is not enough to feed my 1070 GTX video card in use heavt. It requires care supply 2 x 8 pins and adapter I installed is not always able to provide enough power. HP chat support wasn't any help. Do I need to install a new power supply that provides power sheets 8 pin pci-e?

    @MacTheSteve, welcome to the forum.

This is Service and Maintenance Guide for the workstation.

I contacted StarTech to see if they would have an adapter 'Y' which had two 8-pin power connectors.  However, those that they should be the following on your motherboard or the power supply:

StarTech Brandon: basically, there are 4 SATA power or LP4 molex.

I believe that your diet is enough power, but simply do not have the required connectors.  At least, I don't the seen on the diagram of the motherboard.  It seems that you need to upgrade the PSU.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1380t CTO: compatibility problems, ask questions about knitting-by-turn or possible motherboard replacement.

I recently baught an EVGA GTX 1060, as this 630 became quite long in the tooth and I thought that I would try to future proof myself a little as the rest of my components seem to be working very well.  However, I can't get the map to work correctly on this particular computer.  Oddly enough, I can get past that screen startup finally after several short beeps and let it sit, but it takes fowever to reach the office and clearly is not executed properly that the resolution is wobbly and software from Nvidia cannot even detect the card.  I guess I had got this far because of the onboard graphics of some sort, but AFAIK this motherboard which lacks.

I know that the card works fine as I tested it in my other Tower, so I struggled to find a solution.  So far, it seems that the problem is most likely the motherboard, as HP does not have a new BIOS for it since the beginning of 2013 (which I did go ahead and install it).  If true, I find myself with either two options, it seems that the ditch system, entirely or find a motherboard that works with all my old components.  I'd rather not have to empty this workaholic, when all other parts work great, if it is not a work around I would like to know if there are motherboards I could pass that would work with the rest of my components.  Normally I would not bother with even apply for, but I hear a lot of chatter on HP PCs pre-constructed having compatibility problems.

I bought this computer there is in the case of four years that I would be able to update as I do with any other PC, but I didn't know at the time that HP has a tendency to not update the BIOS settings for anything beyond a year which I admit is incredibly frustrating.  What is done is done however, and I want to make this work without having to clear the entire system.

    @Faver, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is the BIOS.  However, it is because the 1060 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The BIOS may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last cards only not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.

MSI made cards with a switch that can be used with a Legacy BIOS or UEFI.  If you decide to go this way, you must contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

The upgrade of the motherboard can be a problem.  HP has taken advice their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as the commercial versions.  Please make sure that the holes in the motherboard matches the accessory in the case.  In addition, some members have had problems with the connectors in the connections case before, for example, the power button.

  • HPE180T CTO: HPE 180 t graphics card advise?

Recently, I improved my diet at 650W, installed a 660Ti GTX card and had nothing but problems. I did everything as suggested here and elsewhere. I updated the Bios, used DDU, reformatted and reinstalled my OS. Tried on older drivers, the most recent, etc. I am a real novice, but is not afraid to try things.

The only thing that I didn't call HP. Maybe I should have. In any case had graphics driver stopped responding and has recovered the message a lot. Of more the black screens, blockades, without starts, blue screens.returned the 660Ti. I reinstalled my original raedon 4650 and no problem except once, using only a Topaz Labs don't branch I got the error message driver graphics. My question is that I would be able to go to any more recent card without problems? Is there a certain class or number of my motherboard?

I need a card with Open GL of at least 3.5 to run some plugins. My current is there, but I need a better performer. Then my monitor is causing a problem? Its a PH Dell 2012 H, which is not a high resolution, screen play. (1600 x 900), I asked some questions here before and got a lot of help, but nothing seems to work, and I don't want to buy a new card to have the same problem.
