I recently downloaded some world of warcraft curse client addons, could they have had a worm virus in them? I do not click on my desk, or something like that and I'm a little nervous about the use of credit card on this PC, Incase of a pirate. Help, please.

  Restore the default settings, update all, restore your data from your last recognized reliable backup.

• Dual boot possible w / addition of windows 7 upgrade CD?

  I have a CD of free upgrade to windows 7, which had been communicated with my vista pc purchase. I don't want to do the widows 7 level installation on Vista. I want to be able to run two operating systems and have both available to choose from at the start upward. Is this possible? Windows 7 will have a new license or it'll be the same as that and let me not turn vista more? If possible, Windows 7 can be installed on the existing Vista split section (D :) & be available at startup or must it be installed on a separate drive?)

  Sorry, you cannot use both Vista and Windows 7 with a upgrade version. You will need to purchase a full version of dual boot.

• 10 Windows: Open Windows are resized when the lid is closed

  I just do the Windows 10 Pro free upgrade. Everything seems to work very well; except for this problem.

  Whenever I simply close and re - open the lid of the portable computer, open windows are resized.

  Most of the windows are restored to where they started, but they seem to ALL have been resized and then sized to their previous location. You can tell because that minimize / restore windows can't remember the last full size you used.

  But some Windows DO NOT get resized back where I left off. Chrome in some crazy. Sometimes, the window is maximized; and other times it gets sized to a smaller rectangle at the top left of the screen.

  You can see all windows sparkle and jumping around when you open the lid.

  It's probably a bug; but something made the stop switch resolution:

  In the display settings, I put the scale slider to 100%.

  In the advanced settings, I clicked on Set A Custom Scaling Level; and I put IT to 150%.

  And now the scale seems just like setting the slider to 150%... but there is no resolution switching! No windows jumping around, and nothing strange seems to happen!

  So for now, this actually seems to work as expected! It MUST be a bug here...

• None of my games will install properly on my Windows 7 64 bit.

  The computer is two weeks old and barely got World Of Warcraft to run (it crashes some textures and maps) by copying to an external hard drive. However, it takes a lot of effort for me to get an external hard drive to borrow, and I'd like to solve this problem as quickly as possible. I got with Spore and the Sims 3 run (to my knowledge) success, but both had errors during the installation. The message says something about the files not being not not the same as in the disks, and it might be the result of a corrupt environment, but as it has happened with 3 different games (Oblivion done this also, but I have not tried running it), I know that this is not the case. I tried with the Sims 3 and Devil May Cry 4 copy files in my hard drive and install from there, but no dice. I updated to each possible windows update and tried to run programs as an administrator, tried to disable my firewall and even tried the compatibility mode for a few of them. Anything you could tell me would help greatly, I get rather angry with my purchase of the computer as it is.

  Edit: Oblivion does not work on my attempt of a start-up, it crashes immediately. Action Center tells me to update to the latest version, but that the contents do not match due to the "source is corrupt" error, patch is immediately interrupted.

  If you copied the game installed it won't work. I recommend to copy the installer to the hard disk and then install it.

  For oblivion, that I would recommend you uninstall the game and install mode of compatibility and then install the hotfix to update the game.

  PROBLEM:

  The TouchPad works but the light that is usually lit when the touchpad is turned on/off (white/orange) does not work.  I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, or there's someone else with this problem.

  I searched and found an older post with the solution by holding down the FN key and pressing the space bar. The fire came as soon as I did it. Go figure!

  Do not use if possible Windows Update for device drivers. Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

  If you have Windows 7 drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the mother/chipset, SATA, LAN card drivers, Audio, Etc., and so on.

  Also check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the latest Windows 7 drivers for your card.

  I am trying to install a new graphics card (gtx750ti) than ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1) and have updated to 750w power supply. Turn on the pc and no video, the pc is running but nothing on the monitor. Map vid tested on another machine it works fine, they suggested the bios update.   The best way to get information about the system must run: MSINFO32.exe which is a program in all operating systems from Microsoft.

  To start Microsoft system information, use either of the following methods:

• Media connect x280n with Windows 7. Help!

  I have a x280n which came with my HP computer.  I've implemented in Vista WITHOUT the addition of all the software of HP crap that slowed the computer for analysis and the resourses undermined.  It was working fine!  I installed a beta version of Windows 7 and did the same thing.  Now, I installed my legitimate version of Win 7 and I can't make it work... figures.  In any case, here are the details:

  I have my pc at home connected to a router.  I hooked the x280n material indications.  I crossed of WMC and makes the setup where you add the code 4 digits and all that.  After that, I could go back on side HP and use it.  I perfer HP side that the side WMC does not allow playback of mp4.  (picture alone, you get no sound).

  I did twice in Vista, once in Win7 beta and it worked fine.  I have not install the HP software, so I know this is not the issue.  Does not suggest that.   So now, with Windows 7 installed, I went through the installation program and entered the code 4 digit etc, and the side WMC works very well.  I see the computer and can get shared music/movies.   But when you switch on the side of HP it acts like it is not connected.  "no shared media detected" when you try to click on the videos/files or music.

  any ideas?  I tried the usual of disableing the firewall suspects, even if it works on the side with the firewall to the top WMC.

  This interface is the gateway to Services MediaSmart. I don't think it can be installed on a Windows 7 PC, it can only be upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista.

  Possibly Windows Media Player 12 now allow you to read these files. But in any case, you have to have sharing enabled in WMP, even if you have the SW of the entry door on your PC. The following link is a document that talks about sharing in WMP12

  Recently, I have restored my laptop to factory settings, and after you install the service pack 1 update, this does not block the search for updates.  I tried everything on this site but without success.  Help, please.  Thank you.
