• Hyperion Planning and Smartview: build the function Description HS

  Hi all
  
  I am currently using Hyperion planning 11.1.2.2, I want to display in excel of the ad-hoc reports description of some members of the dimension through smartview.
  To this end, I used the feature to "build the function:
  I selected an empty cell and call the feature, a window appears with two parameters:
  
  1-connection: this field is filled in automatically (WSFN |) HP | PC | Planning | Plane1)
  2 - members list: I want to wire it manually ex: '#100 account '.
  
  I click on validate: the following message appears: selected connection does not support this new function.select connection.
  
  I would like to know what is meant by connection? What is the syntax of the connection string? could you please give an example?

  Hsdescription is not supported by connection of planning.

  You can use it with Essbase connection.

• Construction of dimension with a rules file for Hyperion Planning

  Hello Experts!
  
  I'm on version 11.1.1.3. I created a classic with 3 Hyperion Planning application plan types, and in EA I have successfully downloaded the same members of dimension entity with the same rules file in each of the 3 contours under my application from HP. Then I've also updated database in the Planning, but I don't see any new dimension member in HP. - could someone help me with what is wrong? Hyperion Planning of work with files of rules for dimension is not build? Thanks in advance!

  No planning does not work with the rule files, you must load dimensions information directly in the planning, and then push it to essbase.

  I have a question about Hyperion Planning (version11.1.2.2.306) order of evaluation of the Dimension which is part of the following navigation:

  What is the ideal way to set the order of evaluation?

  Currently, we have the Dimensions dense scattered dimensions first and then (higher number of members at least). What is the proper way to set the order of evaluation?

  We have a requirement to customize the time dimension as follows,

  -Period

  -HalfYear1

  -Q1

  -Q2

  -HalfYear2

  -Q3

  -Q4

  How to add the first half in the Dimension of the time... Please help me with this...

  P1-click and click on 'Add summary period' and give it in Q1. Next, click on Q1 and click on 'Add summary period' and give HY1... The same for the 2nd quarter, HY2 etc.

  If you still facing problem, what you see in period Dimension. Expand all and give the member names.

• Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1 Custom Types Dimensions/Plan

  I was hoping to get some expertise on an issue I have with Hyperion Planning. We are currently working on the 11.1.2.1 environment and we have 2 types of active plan implemented;

  Plan Type A - dimension of active channel (Custom)

  Plan B - channel (Custom) inactive dimension Type

  For the channel size, is it possible to transform the Plan Type B as a valid plan type in 11.1.2.1? I didn't know if it could only be configured on the creation of the application or not.

  If we activate the dimension for the type of plan, I understand this will cause a number of issues, for example to set the POV for all Web/reports/Scripts for Plan Type b Forms. We are just assessment of the impact, have previously, anyone had any experience of this?

• Unable to open the form and dimension on Hyperion Planning

  I'm working on Hyperion version 11.1.1.3 on my customer environment (Microsoft Windows Server 2003).
  There are two servers: one is at the database and essbase, the other is for the reporting, the Foundation and planning.
  
  Since a month ago this customer experiences this problem:
  When connect via admin user to Hyperion Planning (19000 and 8300 port can both be used), the menu on the upper part is loaded but the rest are empty.
  I tried to open the form by using the menu on the left, but also does not work, always empty. I also managed to try to open the dimension, it cannot be loaded
  restarted the service, and the server also, but does not work as well.
  
  NB: this error occurs only on the id of the admin, I tried to create another user account and give the same provision with admin, id works well, no problems and no case empty.
  
  could someone please advice what happened and the solution, I give my thanks to you.

  I created 2 models in my designer:
  
  HYPERION_MODEL_TEST and ORACLE_SQL_SOURCE, the first has the reverse engineering dimensions ranging from planning and the other is to get the table that contains the members of my size. For the staging area, the synopsis in memory DB is used.
  
  LKM SQL for SQL and SQL IKM in Hyperion Planning is used.
  
  In the interface, I take the source table and the dimension of planning as a target I map the Parent, Alias account: by default, the data storage and ownership of aggregation (Plan1) of the target of the GBA in my dimension table.
  
  All be saved well and when I run it I get the error, clues?

  First of all there is no interest in using the memory storage engine as the staging area if Oracle is your source, you can also use Oracle as the transit area, the staging area probably will not be used as usual a straight SQL query will be generated.
  In your target mappings have also tried setting "run on the staging.

• The IKM selector selection error: IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning

  On the tab 'Flow' of my model, I click on my head to target. Then on the drop down 'Selector IKM', select 'IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning. It gives the error:
  
  Internal error: ODI-15526: IKM IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning not accepted for stage director and target technology
  
  
  Any ideas? I am really new green on ODI and I am at the end to try to run my dimension build. Any help is appreciated.

  You must select a transit area which is different to the planning, because this isn't an intermediate technology supported. What you need to do is to go to the tab definition of your interface tick the 'target different transit zone"and then select a relational technology (that is, one that takes supported SQL) in the drop-down list below. If you have no relational db on stage your data and then select ENGINE SUNOPSIS MEMORY which is the memory in DB that is provided as part of the ODI.

• Hyperion Planning 9.3.0.1: Historical dynamics

  We request Hyperion Planning 9.3.0.1. We want to implement the A-T-J-Q-T-D feature. I wonder how we can do it. There are two ways I can think of, but none of them does not seem to be ideal.
  
  1. ask for dynamic time series period dimension in Essbase. Use this by plugging Smartview (that the client will use) on Essbase and create ad hoc reports. But the flip side is that we cannot include it in the forms and after each data refresh the dynamic time series goes out of the Essbase outline.
  
  2 have a separate dimension defined by the user with members having member formulas to calculate this.
  
  Is there another way to do this?

  1. as John stated that you cannot do planning. You must do so within Essbase

  For applications in non-unicode mode, type script and plan worksheet names should be maximum 8 characters. But your artifact (FSTSOCT13) is to have 9 characters. Test by renaming the name of the script.

  And come to the rejected members, you are facing this problem only with the members of the entity? You are able to import other members of the standard dimension?

  I just wanted to confirm: if I use all the time dimension members in the columns of the shape (something like @IDesc (Yeartotal)), user will be able to enter data at the level of YearTotal. It is a standard functionality given by Hyperion Planning.

  You are right in your thinking. You can enter at the top level of periods. There is no obligation to have a target version for this. Only high level input on other dimensions requires a version of the target

• Cannot load the metadata in Hyperion Planning with ODI

  I'm trying to load a metadata in Hyperion Planning (11.1.2.3.500) using ODI (11.1.1.7), but does not work, I received an error message, all the records has been rejecteds.

  This is the error message:

  Could not load the dimension member, error message is: RemoteException occurred in the thread of the server; nested exception is:

  java.rmi.UnmarshalException: not recognized hash method: method not supported by the remote object

  Can anyone help?
