Hypertext links disabled in Outlook 2003

When you try to click on a hyperlink in Office 2003, I get an error message indicating that there are restrictions in place on my computer and to contact the system administrator.  This is a new laptop, and I'm not on a network.

It is generally a problem of default browser:

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer."

  • Problem with updates of security for MS Office Outlook 2003 (KB973705) and the Outlook junk mail filter (974771 KB)

I had problems trying to install the update of security for MS Office Outlook 2003 (973705 KB) and update for MS Office Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail filter (974771 KB). I get the error code 646.

First of all. What is this code? I looked around and could not know what it means. In the second place. I neither use or as Outlook and would like to know short of reinstalling Office, how can I disable / remove Outlook or disable updates for it?

    Hello rwhard, welcome.

My suggestion would be to insert your disk in Microsoft Office, and then try to perform an automatic repair. Try this:

    1. click on START
    2. click on "Control Panel."
    3. double-click on "programs & features".
    4. click on "Microsoft Office...". "and select Edit
    5. Select "repair".... "in the context menu and go through the wizard
    6. after the repair, restart your computer and try to update again

If this does not work, I would say that simply hide you the update if you are not using Outlook.

    1. click on START
2 type "Windows Update" (without the quotes) and press enter
    3. search for updates, and then click to view will want as an option so that you can manually select the updates to be applied
4 right-click the two updates, then select "hide."
    5. There is no button apply, so it just close the window, and then restart your computer

Let us know if it works,

  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

Running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I have Office 2003 Professional. Today, 7 June 09, apparently there was a lot of updates not only for XP but office as well. the .NET and silverlight was just a couple of them. in any case, after that, I rebooted as instructed, but now I get an error when I try to respond to someone who sent me an email. He said: "the message interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists try restarting Outlook. »

I restarted Outlook 2003 several times and I get the same error. I have not changed my email address or whatever it is (I think) who could not operate properly as he had done for the last year.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Outlook Express 6, Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003 print incomplete emails if IE8 is installed.

The right side of the first page of a printed email from Outlook Express 6, Outlook 2000, or Outlook 2003 is truncated on a computer that is running Windows XP SP3 with Internet Explorer 8 is installed.  E-mails containing tables are specifically affected, but it may be any other emails as well. This problem is easily reproducible on any XP machine running IE8 and any version of outlook prior to 2007. It seems that Microsoft has stopped using the IE from Outlook 2007 print engine. One of these same machines that have this problem, if you uninstall IE8 and go back to IE7, the problem goes away.

I searched all over the web trying to solve this problem. It seems that there is some workaround solutions, but not a solution for this problem for XP users. Microsoft has released a fix for this EXACT problem for users of Windows Vista and Windows 7. This hotfix will not install on a XP system. The link to the fix is here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/980333

There is another thread on this topic in forum windows 7:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/InternetExplorer/thread/8c629797-DB1C-470C-92af-015e4ea03110

The question in this thread has been resolved with the patch that I mentioned above, but when joined XP users, it was recommended that someone start a new thread about this in XP. I did now and am waiting for a response from Microsoft.

Possible temporary solutions (for those of you are experiencing this problem):

1 - back to IE7 (I'm not an acceptable solution in the enterprise environment).

    2. after the opening of the email, go to the file and save it as an html file. Open the HTML in ie8 or your favorite browser and print from there.

3 - the upgrade to Office 2007 or 2010 (if I wanted to spend the money on a new product, I would. However, I refuse to do that simply because an old version, I bought doesn't work anymore.

    Success!

So, this is a summary of what I've done:

1 has begun with an installation of XP SP3 updated with IE8 installed. At this point, I have the right margin bug in OE6.
    2. uninstalled the latest update of security for IE8, which to this day is KB2559049. Restarted.
    3. (you may need to perform this step in Mode safe) renamed ieframe.dll in C:\Windows\System32 ieframe.old. Ieframe.dll manually copy the LDR version in the second most recent Cumulative Security Update for IE8, which, as of this writing is KB2530548 in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. That version LDR is located at C:\WINDOWS\$hf_mig$\KB2530548-IE8\SP3QFE and is the version 8.00.6001.23165(longhorn_ie8_ldr.110420-1800). Restarted.
    4. check that the right margin bug is now fixed. Windows Update told me that the most recent Cumulative Security Update for IE8, KB2559049, was now available to the installation, I did. Restarted.
    5. check the ieframe.dll version that is now in my C:\Windows\System32 folder and it is 8.00.6001.23192(longhorn_ie8_ldr.110617-1815) as hoped. Confirmed that the bug of the right margin is always fixed.

This procedure does 2 things that just copies the LDR latest version updated security in the System32 folder would not prove it with. :

    (A) this shows that manual copy of the dll LDR of security Cumulative Update and then apply the next update will keep the ieframe.dll on the LDR track. There is no need to worry that the next update replace with the MDM (non-hotfix) version.

    (B) there was a bunch of other DLLs that have been on the LDR track when KB2559049 has been reinstalled, it seems that the ieframe.dll LDR can have dependencies on other DLLs being also in the LDR branch, or vice versa. Simply having the LDR ieframe.dll since the 2nd upgrade newer in the System32 folder when you install the latest, due to the most recent update to other dll LDR trace. This includes iepeers.dll, ieproxy.dll, iertutil.dll, c:\windows\system32\msfeeds.dll, wininet.dll, and xpshims.dll (and probably others). Makes me conclude that my method (steps 1-4 above) is greater than the fair copy in the LDR new dll for ieframe.dll, since the other dependant dll LDR manually will be installed using my method.

  • How can I get Outlook 2003 and 2007, to leave a copy of message on the server?

How can I get Outlook 2003 and 2007, to leave a copy of message on the server? I use Outlook 2003 and it keeps pulling messages out of my email account, I want at least a copy to be left there so that I can access it from anywhere and not just a computer. Thank you.

Also, I use Microsoft exchange server 2007, and this is the account where I would like a copy of stay so that emails are there when I try to access remotely and when I accidentally leave Outlook / my computer on.

    Hi Ross WA,

The concept behind Exchange is an inbox synchronized on all devices (computers, phones, PDA...) and you do not allow to leave messages on the server when it is in an Exchange environment. For more information on leave messages on a mail server, you can visit the following link:
Microsoft Answers provides no support for Microsoft Exchange, even if you can post a question in the TechNet Forums here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/threads
I also recommend to contact who manages your Exchange Server as they know your specific Exchange Setup better.
I hope this information helps and thank you for using Microsoft Answers!

  • SYNCHRONIZATION with Microsoft Outlook 2003...

I would also like to sync to Outlook, so I can transfer my data to Date, address and Notepad to my Blackberry Torch 9810. I have the Palm 4.1.4 version and I have Outlook 2003. Do I have to change my settings for Outlook 2003? Can you PLEASE help?

I find that on palmOne program in my Start Menu driving PIM Sync Option:

    (1) the synchronization with Outlook and

    (2) sync with Palm Desktop.

I regularly perform my synchronization with Hotsync Manager which is default in my Palm Desktop on my laptop.  If I select the option "Sync with Outlook", which means that it will become my new default?  If so, how to convert to be synchronization "Palm Desktop" (by default)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Michelle

You can use the synchronization PIM tool leads to sync your Palm OS device to Outlook. You don't have to change the settings in Outlook.

Once the data in Outlook, you can synchronize Outlook with your device.

After having changed, Outlook will become the value by default until you pass DB sync PIM led which will then become the value by default until you change synchronization tool again.
