I am running two versions of Windows?

In my control panel, it says my CPU is 900 MHZ, but when I hit F2 when starting it says 495 MHZ. A friend said that I can run two copies of Windows and its my processor halfway split. Is this possible? If so, how can it be addressed? I have a HP Pavilion AMD 4, and I use Explorer 7 with Service Pack 3. He is old but still works. However, I have problems sometimes watch Adobe Flash video (WMV and Quicktime are very good). The video is 'jerkey' and portable seems to slow down sometimes. No virus and troubleshoot says it all works correctly. I don't understand why I get only 495 MHZ to 900 MHZ processor.

What you see in F2 maybe not what your cpu is running at when under load.
As for the video, you can check the HP site to determine if there is an updated video driver and the update chipset driver.
Do NOT use winupdate for drivers.

I've updated my explore since the MSN site and then restarted it said I was running a version of Windows. I then re installed Vista with my drive of origin as suggested and created that created an old file from windows to save older files and now it will not recognize the key of the product code.

    original title: reinstalling vista

From you description of the problem you encounter, the scenario where this can happen.

Windows vista was preinstalled by an OEM or by using a Volume license installation. The problem does not occur on retail versions of Windows Vista. For example, the problem will not occur if you bought Windows Vista and installed the operating system on a computer yourself. If this is the case with your system

Almost forgot to mention, the last days I'm on another Site of our society and it seems that some users more have this problem here.

At the beginning we had some problems with rogue KMS hosts (clients installed with the wrong key, and then they began to behave like a KMS host), but this has been fixed.

I see activation all requests come to the KMS host.

I want to use the same key to install Windows 7 on two different HARD drives and use them one at a time on the same PC.

I have a hot spare disk Bay. I want to be able to exchange the HARD disk for troubleshooting Windows etc. Should I buy another key?

I just realized that some information I have given is incorrect.

I have not installed a new copy of Windows 7 on the second disc. I actually reconfigured it with an image of the first hard drive.

In this case can I leave Windows on the second disk, and exchange them warm without any problem?

I've heard people cloning the C drive and there change places if anything ever goes wrong.

Would not be Windows treats the second disc I've reconfigured as a cloned disk?

    Keylonta:

You are right. If you clone a drive with a good installation running, the system knows no difference between readers. It works simply. It is not request a new activation if Exchange you them.

Similarly, if you use something like Acronis to make an image (complete backup of the drive) and then burn that image on a new disk, the system accepts the new drive as the former and, once again, do not request a reactivation.

    Hello

If your network contains computers running different versions of Windows, put all computers in the same workgroup.

I suggest you to refer the steps mentioned from the link, this could help you share the printer on the network.

They suggest keeping a computer with Windows XP to run these programs... Is to make the two versions of Windows from the same computer

You can dual-boot or you can run XP in a virtual machine. Maybe Windows 7 with XP Mode might work for you. To dual-boot, make sure that the computer you buy supports XP and has drivers for their hardware. Virtualization is idea for non - 3D applications. Since you don't mention what programs you use, you must check with their tech support to ensure that these programs will be running in a virtual machine. Also please note that, if you can run a software virtualization (MS Virtual PC, VMware Workstation, VirtualBox) on Windows 7, XP Mode specialized needs of material specific to the function.

Contains information on the question of whether you need and can run in XP Mode:

  • Computer with Vista unable to connect to the internet through two computers with Windows 7.

    Dear engineers,

In our House, we have two new computers Windows 7 connect to Wired internet access.  Our friend came in hoping to play some MMO games with us on our connection (it has windows vista).  When we hung everything upward, by linking to our modem, his computer was visible on my husbands computer, but was visible on mine as a media device.  He could see the two computers, but could not get an internet connection and no viable ping.  We checked the network map and he showed my computer with one? related to my husband then connected to the internet.  Inside, there was an announcement indicating that the following devices are not displayed in the network map.  under of course was listed both our friends media device and the computer device.  I searched Control Panel and gave access to anyone on the login to my husbands system as long as me.  What happens if nothing else can I try to have its system you can connect to our internet?

    Thank you for your attention,

    Cerisea

    Hello

If a computer is not properly visible it generally means that sharing is not set correctly to match your system.

You must also set your computers with the computer account of the friend as a user on your computer.

Everyone does not mean everyone wishing to connect.

If the accounts are presented only for John, Jill and Jack, setting in the folder with all permissions saves the effort of definition permission separately for John, Jill and Jack.

Everyone isn't everyone group, only John, Jill and Jack.

    In general.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

  • Photo Story 3 do not install or work on the final version of Windows 8

I received an email from a family member who said...

"I have a question of photo story. Last night, I installed Windows 8 preview version on Win 7 64-bit PCs who had installed photo story to test if it would work on 8 to win. It worked with a mouse problem, that I got with the program under Win 7. So, today, I bought a copy of win 8 and installed on the PC even after reinstalling Win 7 and Photo Reportage on the PC. This time I get the message this Photo story is not compatible with Windows 8. What gives. It works on preview but not the final version. Am I missing something? Can I make it work? »

My personal experience with 12 apps I've tried so far Photo Story 3 is the only one who is not to install or work on the 9200 Build Windows 8 enterprise.
We've been through the same thing when Windows 7 is released. Photo Story 3 worked on the preliminary but abruptly stopped when the final version has been published. He solved and works fine on Windows 7.

I managed to install Photo Story 3 on Windows 8 Enterprise x 64 and Windows Enterprise 8.1 Preview x 64.  I also discovered exactly what it breaks, and I guess that's what beat Photo Story 3 for people on Windows 7: LegitCheckControl.dll

If you download from the Microsoft Web site through the alternative method the photo story 3 application will install and work fine.  If however you choose to install the ActiveX Windows Genuine Advantage version, it installs the LegitCheckControl.dll, some registry settings and will result in the following errors.

    Setup error:

"Photo Story 3 for Windows cannot be installed on this version of Windows. Check the system requirements for photo story 3 for Windows before attempting to install the program".

    Error launching application:

"Photo Story 3 for Windows cannot run this version of Windows.  Check the requirements for photo story 3 for Windows before trying to execute it."

While the problem is happening, you can install Photo Story 3 on systems that are affected by the WGA ActiveX components through the command line with the following example:

    MsiExec.exe /i Pstory.msi/passive SKIPOSCHECK = 1 NOLEGITCHECK = 1

    To solve two problems:

As the installation of the ActiveX program does not include an uninstall program, the best solution is to rename the WGA DLL via PowerShell or command line as an administrator for that photo story may find it is no longer, and so you can enable it again in the future without problem.

    Windows x 86:

    PS: "Rename-Item $env:windir\System32\LegitCheckControl.DLL LegitCheckControl.Disabled.DLL.

    CMD: "rename %windir%\System32\LegitCheckControl.DLL LegitCheckControl.Disabled.DLL.

    Windows x 64:

    PS: "Rename-Item $env:windir\SysWOW64\LegitCheckControl.DLL LegitCheckControl.Disabled.DLL.

    CMD: 'rename %windir%\SysWOW64\LegitCheckControl.DLL LegitCheckControl.Disabled.DLL.
