  If you no longer have the earthlink address, then you need to get a new email address before establishing an account.  You cannot configure an e-mail account by using an IP address.  Your internet provider or someone else must provide a first e-mail account.

  In OE, you can then go to tools | Accounts | Add | By post, then add your new email account in OE, so it can get messages.

  Your the POP and SMTP server names, are wrong. That is why it is said 'host not found '.
  Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider), the cable company that connects you to the internet?
  Or what is your SECOND half of your e-mail address starting with the symbol @, for example mine is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

• I changed my administrator password and can not remember it at all even with the HELP indicator!

  I changed my password on my computer emachines that's installed with windows Vista home edition and of course I didn't create a backup disc for windows vista, also, I find not the notebook where I wrote the password, now I am prompted for my user account for everything and I try to do the admin password which I do not remember.  The devil what do I do? / I also did not create a password reset disk in order to restore through the wizard, I can't yet do a system restore without authorization of the admin and the password.  Im stuck.  I don't want to restart my sytem, since I'll lose all my documents and photos, so how can I access to my admin account when I forgot the admin password, I changed?  Please help me! It is a new computer for me?  is there any command I can type prompt for the user account? or any solution?

  The fact that you receive spam means that you don't have a connection to the ISP yet may not be entirely correct - in particular the SMTP section responsible for sending emails.  Have you tried to send an email to yourself - probably not if you can not send (or get a friend to send one to you).  If this isn't the case, please do and let us know if you are able to receive in both cases.  I would like to know if you can receive regular emails except just spam.

  What e-mail program you are using (name and version)?  When did you start this problem?  Have you contacted your ISP for assistance to reconfigure your e-mail settings to make sure that they have not changed and are correct (or provide assistance to this problem in general)-they should be willing to help you troubleshoot problems connecting at least (but maybe not the inbox lack).

  When you respond with results and answers to the questions above, we can decide if we can help you here or if it is best to refer you to experts in any email program that you use.  Let us know what the ISP has to say and if they are able to solve all the problems.

  What happened to me several times over the years, as different local networks may not connect in order to SEND email but without reception problems.

  My solution is to always use the WEBMAIL service belonging to the service of your email provider... be it Apple or Blueyonder, or anyone.

  Occasionally, a national internet service - for example; the Sultanate of Oman, in my experience - can refuse to deal with mail because the discussion on a particular topic is not permitted in the jurisdiction of that country, but it is very rarely the problem. Try just using the webmail online pages - for example; webmail service to iCloud in the case of an Apple (.mac, .me, .icloud) email address - and who usually works for me, anyway.

  You should make sure that you enter the new password for your outgoing mail server.
