I can't compose E-mail while downloading Thunderbird.

Running: Windows 7 with a lot of RAM.

Why is it not possible for Thunderbird download email and allow users to compose / edit e-mail at the same time? Is there a configuration that would make this possible. If all work must cease for the customer to check and download the mail, I will be forced to pass customers.

AS I do what you say, this is not possible, perhaps you could help solve with exactly why you say that this cannot be done,

  • I want to transfer addresses and emails of 'full e-mail' to downloaded thunderbird

I have the office suite 'complete' on my computer but mail 'complete' (which is actually of thunderbird too) really plays up. I just downloaded the latest program of thunderbird, but I want to import all the emails and addresses of the old program that are probably somewhere in my files. Help, please. Using the button import into 'tools' don't give me the option. I use Windows 8.1.

Hello. Sorry, but I did not understand what to do from your answer, but I've since sorted it myself by simply exporting the files required to complete mail on a key and then import them into Thunderbird. The reason why I couldn't do that before was because I did not give the file a unique name. I now empty duplicates of some files, but I can live with that because they do not seem to want to delete.

    Try this...

from your windows live client of e-mail:
Right click on the folder you want to synchronize (i.e., Inbox, etc.)
    Click on properties
    Click on "synchronize" tab
Check "in synchronizing this folder, download"
Select 'new messages' instead of 'all messages '.

  • With the TB locked, how can I stop e-mail DL at launch?

TB will automatically connect to my account on Verizon e-mail and downloads new email at startup, then crashes. A single message repeatedly is duplicated in the directory before the crash. I deleted the suspect message in my email Verizon's Web account and emptied the trash it. The launch, TB always says it is downloading the rest of the messages, then crashes.

Support Verizon doesn't find anything wrong, suggested the UN/reinstall TB, which has not changed anything.

I would like to launch TB but does not go to the Internet. This way I can see if the accident is caused by something that is already downloaded. The only instructions I can find require that this be done from the directory of tools running of tuberculosis. Is there a way off line to change this setting in my profile?

  • If I have multiple e-mail accounts, how can I stop them mail?

If set up several e-mail in Thunderbird account, how can I keep one of them to send e-mail, while allowing others to send?

    Simple answer:
do not use the e-mail address by sending or responding or e-mail transfer. The shipment is not automatic, you need to generate the email and click on a submit button.

You can use an smtp server which will not send using the incorrect for e-mail server, so it cannot send, but if you accidentally use the email address, you can get an error message, but at least the email will be sent. This here:

Tools > the account settings for the e-mail account.
bottom right outgoing - select Server that will not accept send using wrong email address

    OR
Outgoing Server (SMTP), select the server that you use for this account
    Click on 'change '.
deliberately made a mistake in the name of the server - remove details of the port etc.
So the details are false and can not send.

  • only the first new e-mail is downloaded by Thunderbird. The system then falls.

When I click on 'get the message' I get advice "downloading message 1 of."
No matter how many times repeated that I always get the same message 1. The rest do not download.
I can watch my web mail account (which works normally) and see all these messages.
My computer is running Windows 8.1 but Thunderbird has worked fine until today.

This really looks like anti-questions virus for me.

Try to disable the e-mail analysis and see how you go.

Recently upgraded to El Capitan, I had that problem for Mail stop unexpectedly when I saw some posts.  I followed the steps and was able to remove the trouble messages.   Now I can't restore the mail window message viewer component.  When I try to catch the separator bar to go back to the left, only half of the small arrow icon and line appears, and it cannot be moved.   Can open the message by double clicking a message viewer.

    Hi there, alicefrompa!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. From your post, I understand that you do not see the Message Viewer box which allows you to read your e-mails; only see you the Inbox that includes a brief overview of the message and are unable to restore access using the separator bars. I have had this happen to my own Mail app and am happy to let you know how I could fix!

You are really on the right track - you want to roll your mouse over the divider between the Inbox and sections Message Viewer (which should now be on the extreme right edge of your mail window) and drag it to the left.  When you click on the receipt/Message Viewer box, the cursor turns into a line continuous black with a single arrow pointing to the left. When you see the cursor change, click with the left button of the mouse and (while holding down the mouse button in) drag the combination line / arrow to the left. You may need to drag a little further than before to get it. I had to hang mine almost completely in the middle of my Mail app before the display of the message box appeared.

From there, you should be able to adjust the boxes to your widths you want as expected.

If you are still not able to get the display of the messages visible after have try this, here are a few more things that you can do.

    1. Press command + O on your keyboard.
    2. Exit the Mail application, and then press on and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard while reopening.
    3. Restart your Mac by selecting the menu  Apple in the upper right of your screen restart from the menu drop down.

    See you soon!

  • How can I keep old emails to download after you have configured the address

I just install a professional e-mail address on thunderbird but don't need the 7000 + old emails to download from the server
    How can I avoid this?

If it's gmail, visit their Web site and search for the function 'recent '.

Otherwise, and I guess that it is IMAP, he's just doing what it is supposed to do; show you what is on the server. Your best choice is to go to the website of the provider of messaging, place messages you don't need to see their own records and not to subscribe to those folders in Thunderbird.

If it's POP, a new account in Thunderbird does not know what you have seen before, so just of gets it everything. Beware, it will almost certainly move all messages from the server to the client, then don't start immediately remove things. The 'other files' technique described for IMAP should work here too, as POP sees no folders on the server other than the Inbox.

  • Thunderbird is slow, can not open e-mails, is inadmissible and crashes constantly.

I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I downloaded Thunderbird and imported my old user profile, as I always did in the past. Thunderbird runs incredibly slow. I double click to open an email and it takes 1-3 minutes to open. Thunderbird will display a warning "Not responding" almost every time that happens. Also, if I delete a message, it takes about 45-60 seconds for the program to react and move the message to the trash. Message opening and new or old messages and delete or move the emails to another folder is when problems occur. Write a new message does not appear to be a problem. It is not my internet connection (the link does not show wait times and no other users in my office had this problem). What is the solution? If it can't be fixed then I simply will cease to use Thunderbird as my e-mail program.

Uninstallation of McAfee seems to have fixed this problem (and a bit more with other software). Thank you!

Because I didn't want to be without any protection against the virus, I put Microsoft Security Essentials (free from Microsoft) and it doesn't interfere with any of my programs or software.
